Elasi Frigate Elasi Storm-class frigates are small but very maneuverable spacecrafts, they are armed with a variety of defensive systems. The frigates are believed to be an altered version of early Klingon battle cruisers, although the Klingons deny any connection. One-on-one, the Elasi frigates are a match for older Federation light cruisers, and even two Elasi frigates can threaten a Constitution-class starship.
Elasi Pirates There are several bands of pirates based from Elasi Prime; the ajElasi family, ajThuri, and the onRusili. Recent events on Menalvagor have caused these bands, which typically battle each other, to unite and prey on Federation ships.
Elasi Prime A binary star system, whose one inhabited planet, Menalvagor, is currently undergoing a revolution, between factions which survive from raiding Federation ships, and factions that wish to make peace with the Federation. Several continents were colonized centuries ago by the Andorians; the self-determination of the Menalvagoreans and the treatment of minority Andorians is an issue of considerable controversy. The Elasi Clan is the largest clan of pirates, and have been blamed for forty-six attacks on Federation ships in the last three years. They use revolutionary zeal to mask their activities as pirates. Starfleet tactical analysis characterize them as being daring and implusive, but skilled in analysis and planning. In effect, they are very capable of acting in an unorthodox and surprising manner when their plans begin to fall apart. They are considered a Class I threat to the Federation.

Elba II A desolute planet, fogged with poisonous atmosphere. Elba II serves as a location of one of few Federation penal colonies for the criminally insane. The facility resides in a biosphere protected under a heavy forcefield to keep the toxic atmosphere out and the inmates in. The planet was named after the first exile island of Napoleon I. Considerable progress in rehabilitating the inmates has been recently noted. ("Whom Gods Destroy" [TOS])
Ellis, Walter Starfleet officer, rank Lieutenant Commander, current Security Chief and First Officer of the USS Zimbabwe. Decorated three times by Starfleet for bravery under fire, and awarded the Starfleet Award of Valor for his actions during the Kelver Uprising on Rigil VII. Ellis held a grudge against Captain Kirk because his friend, Lieutenant Ralph Garvin, had died during an away mission led by Kirk. ("No Man's Land" [JR])
Eminiar VII A Class M planet in the Eminiar system, recovering from a centuries old war with their neighbours, the Class M world Vendikar. ("A Taste of Armageddon" [TOS])
Emminata The Vurian soldier who escaped into the Antares Rift following the Three Systems War during the 22nd Century. Her life was sustained by the entity called the Savant, who resided in a dimension within the Rift and provided her with joy. When the USS Enterprise entered the Antares Rift in 2269, the Savant instructed Emminata to bring Spock into its dimension so as to enhance his life. ("Voids" [JR])
Engineering Section The primary location in a starship where all the primary functions of a starship's impulse engines and warp drive are maintained. Many of a starship's vital systems can be controlled from this location as well.
Enterprise NX-01 Earth starship, NX-class, launched 2151 from the Warp 5 Complex orbiting Earth, under the command of Captain Jonathan Archer. The Enterprise is the first starship built by Humans to achieve warp 5. It is also the first starship equipped with a transporter approved for biomatter transport. Enterprise is armed with phase cannons and conventional torpedoes, the latter of which were upgraded to photonic torpedoes in 2153.
Enterprise, USS Federation Constitution-class starship, launched 2245 from the San Francisco Yards orbiting Earth, currently under the command of Captain James T. Kirk and First Officer, Commander Spock. The Enterprise is in the midst of its fourth year of a five year mission dedicated to exploration. Its registration number is NCC-1701.
Epsilon Sierra A star system near the Klingon and Romulan Neutral Zones whose fourth planet is the site of a Human colony. Epsilon Sierra IV is noted for its independent temperament; all non-Sierrans are considered invaders -  a threat to planetary security and are treated as such.
Espoir Station Scientific research station, situated near the Gravity's End Proto-universe phenomenon. It is directed by Dr. James Munroe, originally of New Texas, Earth. ("Federation" [JR])
Eugenics Experiments to evolve humanoid lifeforms to superior physical and mental performance. Due to the experiments of Nazi Germany and Khan Noonien Singh in the 20th Century, eugenics research has never been popular in the Federation, and has only been approved once. Klingons are believed to have invested heavily in eugenics, and the Vardaine have defied Federation regulations on at least three occasions. It is not known what was the exceptional circumstance that lead to the only one Federation-approved eugenics research.

Eugenics Wars
A terrible conflict on Earth during the 1990s, caused by a group of genetically engineered "supermen" who believed that their superior abilities gave them the right to rule the world. One such individual, Khan Noonien Singh, rose to rule one-fourth of the entire planet in 1992, and within a year his fellow supermen seized power in 40 nations. Terrible wars ensued, in part because the supermen fought among themselves. By 1996, the supermen were overthrown, and Khan and his followers escaped into space aboard the SS Botany Bay. ("Space Seed" [TOS])
Excalbia A planet covered with magma, with an atmosphere that is poisonous to humanoid races. It contains an unique carbon-based lifeform that are capable of putting out enough energy to generate mental images and stop a starship's warp engines. This energy is sufficient to clear out an area in which humanoid aliens can function without an environment suit. This livable zone is suitable to Excalbia's natives as they are rock-based lifeforms and do not appear to respirate. They possess ethics and values dramatically different from those of many humanoid species The level of this field was quantified as Factor 7 Artificial Power, which as deemed too much for an uninhabited planet. This fact led to the discovery of the native life on the planet. ("The Savage Curtain" [TOS])
Exeter, USS A Federation starship, abandoned in orbit around Omega IV due to bacteriological infection. Its captain, Robert Tracy, is currently undergoing psychiatric treatment following his violation of the Prime Directive on the Omega IV civilization. ("The Omega Glory" [TOS])

Farragut, USS
Federation starship, Constitution-class, registry NCC-1647. In 2257, 200 members of the Farragut crew, including its captain, Captain Garrovick, were killed by the cumulo-haevus near Tycho IV. Lieutenant James T. Kirk was one of the few survivors of the attack. ("Obsession" [TOS]) The USS Farragut was apparently not destroyed during the attack by the cumulo-haevus since "Federation" (JR) reveals that Kirk was still a member of the USS Farragut's crew when he exposed Dr. Ies Breddell's scheme to overthrow the Vardaine council in 2258.

Feynman, SS
A scientific research vessel named after a Nobel Prize-winning physicist from 20th Century Earth, commanded by Dr. Kevin Allard, is currently engaged in the study of a X-ray pulsar at Delta Gamelon. Crew compliment is ten, three Starfleet personnel and seven academics, including Dr. Allard. Cross-reference entries: X-ray pulsar. The disk version of JR gives the vessel's name as "USS Feynman", while the entry was removed in the CD-ROM version of JR.
Finney, Benjamin Starfleet officer, rank Lieutenant Commander. Former Records Officer, USS Enterprise. ("Court Martial" [TOS])
Flisna The largest settlement on Christgen III, with a population of approximately 16,000 individuals. The population is predominately Tellarite and they are led by Gnorta Clork.
