| Almost every powerful enemy Lina has faced was a mozaku, whose name literally means "the evil race". Mozaku are extremely powerful, and are rivaled by only the powers of the gods. Mozaku hierarchy is as follows: |

| The exitence of mozaku (and everything else) originally came from the Lord of Nightmares (top circle). Immediately under the Lord of Nightmares in terms of power are the Lords of the Four Worlds. Clockwise from the top circle in the center of the diagram are Chaotic Blue, Dark Star, Shabranigdo, and Death Fog. The primary focus of Slayers is on the subordinates of Shabranigdo, so those five circles underneath him represent Beastmaster Zelas, Dynast Grauscherra, Deep Sea Dolphin, Demon Dragon King Gaav, and Hellmaster Phibrizzo. Phibrizzo is the strongest out of these mozaku. |
| The hierarchy of mozaku divides smaller still. Each of the dark lords under Shabranigdo also has a priest and a general, and all of these mozaku represent the strongest around. Xellos is particularly strong as he was created by Zelas to be both a priest and a general. Not much is known about Deep Sea Dolphin or Dynast Grauscherra, except that Dolphin lives in the Demon Sea, and Grauscherra resides in the North Pole, but it is known that Beastmaster Zelas resides on an uncharted island called Wolf Pack Island, and, appropriately enough, keeps a lot of wolves there. She's also been known to be a notorious chain smoker and drug addict (however, her health has lessened none since she's a mozaku :-P). From the anime, many people know about Gaav and Phibrizzo. Click on the names to find out more about them. I'm not an expert on mozaku, but remember that: 1. Mozaku and monsters are two different races. 2. Mozaku feed off negative human emotions. 3. The stronger a mozaku is, the more human-like its form is. Some people wonder why Seygram was so powerful fighting Xellos because of this rule, but actually Gaav had previously granted Seygram extra power already. 4. Mozaku live in the astral plane, and, when seriously injured, need to return there to heal. 5. Only stronger mozaku or a mozaku powered by a mozaku strong enough can enter the human world. | An important note: The actual spelling is "mazoku", with "ma" meaning "evil", and "zoku" meaning the "race" portion. However, since there are endless URLs, etc. to change, and data to update, I've decided to stay with my previous spelling. It's a bad habit, anyway. :-P |
