Boat Trip to the Village

The village was inaccessible by modern roads. Our group took three boats up the river for two hours (approximately 30 miles). The sights along the way were breathtaking.

The boats are called "long-tail" boats because the propeller shaft is almost as long as the boat itself.

Five to a boat please. Who will end up wet?

Russel was the only one smart enough to sit on his life jacket on the way to the village.

The river wound through some very beautiful scenery.

This baby elephant was our first clue we were not in Kansas anymore.

My dream has always been waterfront property.

Now this is nature at its finest.

Land ho! From here it is a mile and a half to our village.
