Rimkok Resort

The Rimkok Resort is located near the northernmost point in Thailand. Its exceptional beauty and proximity to great shopping made this Christine's favorite stop on the trip.

The resort was lush with several buildings and long walkways.

From our room to the lobby was a 10 minute walk. Hot and sweaty by the time you got there!

The architecture was beautiful. The resort was large and offered two large pools, river views, and plenty of shopping.

The food was delicious. The hand-carved staircase was very ornate.

Shops in the lobby sold everything from clothing to jewelry to postcards.

It was a short trip to Myanmar (formerly Burma) where you could find excellent bargains.

This "river" separates Myanmar from Thailand. Not sure which side is which.

Shopping in Myanmar was risky, but the market proved to be safe and pleasant.
