Guinan Bartender, USS Enterprise Guinan remains quite a mysterious figure on the Enterprise. Many questions about her species are raised, though it is known that El-Aurians have a very long life span, and have a unique mental perception. Guinan is very old, as she had been on earth during the 19th century. This is where she met Picard and Data, when they were transported back in time. Guinan remembered them, and somehow it led to her meeting Picard again in the 24th century. Guinan ran the Ten-Forward lounge on the Enterprise-D, but it was not the first Enterprise she was aboard. Guinan was rescued by the Enterprise-B on its maiden voyage. This was how she experienced the Nexus, and met Soran, who would later stir up trouble for Picard. Guinan developed a very personal and close relationship to the members of the Enterprise crew; she always offered her ear to them. Guinan came aboard after the death of Tasha Yar, but when a temporal rift changed reality and Tasha was still alive, Guinan was able to sense that something was wrong. Guinan was also responsible for explaining Sela's existence. images:
