Wesley Crusher Helm Officer, USS Enterprise Wesley Crusher is the son of Beverly and Jack Crusher. Wesley's parents were close aquaintances with Jean-Luc Picard, and when Wes and his mother were assigned to the Enterprise, he developed a strange but eventually close relationship to Picard. Wesley was a bright and curious teenager, and his curiousity often got him in trouble. Picard had a difficult time putting up with this teenager, but after he took notice of Wesley's knowledge and insight, he made him an Acting Ensign so that he could put his skills to good use. Wesley became a helsman on the Enterprise and gained valuable experience while on board. Wesley planned on attending Starfleet Academy, but had to give up his opportunity to go in order to help the Enterprise find some of their missing crewmen. Picard gave Wes a field commission of full Ensign after his selfless act. Wesley was accepted to the Academy later on, and did attend. He also got into trouble there as well. Wesley left Starfleet behind for a new adventure with the Traveler. images:
