Chief Miles O'Brien Transporter Chief, USS Enterprise Chief O'Brien has had a long career in Starfleet. Miles never attended the Academy, but his engineering skills were excellent despite no formal Academy training. O'Brien served on many places, such as the USS Rutledge and the USS Enterprise. He was initially a helsman on the Enterprise but was later put to use as a transporter chief. Miles met his future wife Keiko on the Enterprise and they also had a daughter. His long starfleet career finally paid off when he was promoted to chief of operations on Deep Space 9. Keiko O'Brien Civilian Botanist, USS Enterprise Wife to Chief O'Brien; Keiko met the chief while they were both on board the Enterprise. Keiko was a botanist and worked in the ship's arboretum. The two were married on the Enterprise by Captain Picard. Keiko also became pregant with their first child and went into labor during a shipwide catastrophe. Without having access to Sickbay or a doctor, Worf had to deliver the O'Brien's baby Molly. The O'Brien's departed the Enterprise when Chief O'Brien was promoted and transferred to Deep Space 9. Lieutenant Ro Laren Helm Officer, USS Enterprise Ro Laren was not your typical Starfleet officer. She had been reprimanded several times during her brief career and was sent to serve in a Federation prison. She was brought out and posted to the Enterprise when a situation between her people, the Bajorans, and the Cardassians erupted and Starfleet wanted someone familiar to the Bajorans to work on the mission. Picard has his doubts about Ensign Ro, but he was able to get through to her and the mission was a success. Ro stayed on board the ship and served as helm officer. She had a strong will and at times a bad attitude, which didn't work well for making friends. She did establish a strong bond with Guinan and, Picard who served as a mentor to her. Ro left the Enterprise to attend Starfleet Advanced Tactical training, and returned to the ship afterwards with a promotion to Lieutenant. Ro was assigned to an undercover operation involving the Maquis, since she was a Bajoran and had a troubled Starfleet record. Lieutenant Ro was absorbed by the Maquis and their cause, and defected, leaving an angry and disappointed Picard. Q A unique and meddling member of the intelligent, immortal, and ominopotent Q Continuum, Q introduced himself to humanity by appearing on the Enterprise-D on its maiden voyage. Q accused Picard and the rest of humanity of horrific deeds against the universe and put humanity on trial. Q appeared several more times to interfere with the Enterprise crew and to drive them crazy. Q was responible for throwing the Enterprise into the delta quadrant where they first encountered the Borg. He also toyed with the crew by putting them in bizarre situations like the "Robin Hood" story. Q was fascinated and amused by Captain Picard, and tormented him by throwing him into the past and future. Q was fond of the Enterprise crew yet that never stopped him from paying visits to Deep Space 9 and the USS Voyager. Lwaxana Troi Ambassador, Betazed Lwaxana is a member of the Betazoid royalty and is also the mother of Enterprise counselor Deanna Troi. Lwaxana boarded the Enterprise on many occassions to visit her daughter, causing headaches for Deanna and forcing Picard into hiding. Lwaxana was also up to something, either arranging a marriage for her daughter, courting a wealthy man of her own, or seeking out Enterprise crewmembers to attract. Lwaxana was very font of Captain Picard and Commander Riker, and even established a relationship with Worf (whom she nicknamed Woof) and his son Alexander. Lwaxana has also made appearances on the DS9 station chasing after Odo. Lieutenant Reginald Barclay Engineer, USS Enterprise A member of the Enterprise engineering team, Reg Barclay was a shy, unconfidant, and anti-social crewmember who had a hard time focusing on his work on the Enterprise. His insecurities earned him the nickname "Broccoli" that the crew called him behind his back. Reg retreated to the holodeck where he developed an addiction to the holographic creations he interacted with. He even made holographic recreations of the Enteprise crew, and altered them. Barclay was also the victim of a strange alien influence which gave him extraordinary intelligence for a time. Reg was in counseling quite often, and Counselor Troi was quite familiar with him. No doubt he sought her help again after suffering from transporter psychosis, and again after de-evolving into an arachnid. Barclay spent some time on Jupiter Station developing the EMH program with Lewis Zimmerman, but he was back aboard the new Enterprise-E during the Borg attack on the 21st century. Reg Barclay is currently on Earth working to help bring the USS Voyager home. |
