Andy at Work

A View of the River

Here is a view from the catwalk of the Mississippi River and other parts of the plant. It is right on the river as you can see.

So that is work at the distillery. You have seen where I work and what I do, but sight is only one of the senses involved. The smell of a blast of carbon dioxide, a fresh sniff of an alcohol sample, the bitterness of a beer column base loss, and the unique smell of your sweat and everything dried after you get home are uncomparable. The feel of the heat and humidity, and the sweat constantly running down your nose, getting your pants sprayed with gross roto-jet water, and the fresh cool air of the control room are a part of the daily experience. Even with ear plugs there is the constant noise of steam and motors and general din of the plant, with sirens for alarms going off every so often. And as for taste, well, it's always good to get to sit down and eat lunch. So refreshing.

So that's it. More questions? Feel free to ask me! Hope you enjoyed looking through my pictures, and have a good day!
