Filling the fermenter

This is corn mash. The (used to be) red thing on the left is the fill spout, and it is going into the fermenter. The other thing in the hole is a measuring rod so that I can know when the fermenter is filled to the correct point. It usually takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes to fill a fermenter. You might wonder what I do during that time. Well, there are many things to do, and I will explain those as we go. Just realize that these other things go on while the fermenters are always being filled.
