Mission # 22
I immediately rushed out the door and picked a score of hares, along with a couple of squirrels. (if i'm not allowed to do that, you can delete it) We ran until nightfall and set up camp under cover. Since we had been running, we fell asleep very quickly. I was the second one up. I woke everybody up, we quickly ate breakfast and started running again. About midday, we arrived at the woods. My fellow squirrels and I hopped up into the trees. That was much easier than running in the sand. Then, just before nightfall, we arrived at redwall. We hid in the bushes to make a plan. The squirrels would try to find their leader and shoot him with our arrows. Then, if we were discovered, the hares would stab them with their pikes. We started shooting and about the sixth shot, we hit him. The searats took cover. We moved around a bit so that the vermin wouldn't know our position. I took a squirrel and found their camp. Bad news to us. The leader hadn't been the real leader, he was just second in command. The real leader was hiding out with another half a score of vermin. We all hurried inside Redwall and gathered all the warriors together. We made a plan. Some of the Redwall citizens would distract them somehow out of their camp. Then we would go to their camp, make it look like no one had ever been there and hide all around it. The vermin would come back, they would look all confused and the squirrels would shoot. That would be the signal for the hares to shoot them with their slings. We would fire in rounds. When their number was decreased, we would fight in the open. Reinforcements would come. Then, it would be very east to win. Now it was time for the action. The Redwallers put ladders and ropes down the side of the wall. The vermin were stupid enough that they took their whole horde. We ran to their camp, extinguished their fire, threw their camp into the bushes, and hid there. Then they came back. Some of them were bruised from falling. They looked around. We shot a first time, then a second. The hares fired. We fired. The hares fired. We fired. It decreased their numbers dramatically. Then the otters and other squirrels arrived. There was half a score left when they surrendered. We banished them from Mossflower forever. The Abbot thanked us very much. He asked us if we wanted anything. I answered, "Not yet."
Mission 56: Completed by Torgorch
Our badger lord was in danger and we had to save him.Our army was 70 hares,10 otters,15 squirrels,
4 moles and some volunteers from redwall. I had the moles dig into the hills and build a tunnel to the back of the vermin. The redwallers and the otters went in there and positioned themselves for the signal to pop out and charge .Now all this time our archers were in Salamandastron pouring arrows into the side of the vermin. The hares and sqirrels were in the front ready or there signal, and then from the shaft of Lord Tammo himself a flaming arrow hit the ground.Every beast from the hole came up from behind and charged us and the squirrels charged from the front. At the center of it all Irongrip and the vermin horde leader were battling for their lives and Irongrip was winning, but a cheap shot brought him to the grass. Just as the tyrant was about to go for the death blow I quickly notched a arrow and hit him . The horde was gone, Ironrip was safe ,we definitely had a victory that day.

Again, I rushed out with a large patrol of squirrels, hares, otters and moles. We hurried to the site where the Guoism shrews did last battle. We followed the shrews footprints until we reached their homes. We walked up to Log-a-log and asked him what service we could be of. He said to hide in the bushes nearby until the vermin arrived. Around and hour later they came, with about twoscore soldiers. They immediately started battle. We jumped out of the bushes and, first, tried to scare them off. That didn't work so the moles stayed in back, the squirrels climbed up the trees and the otters went to the front with the hares. The squirrels fired their deadly arrows while the otters used slings. The hares with their pikes would do open battle and the moles were for backup. Finally the battle ceased. The vermin retreated. Log-a-log looked pretty angry at us for some reason. He spoke, "Why did you do that?!?! You killed my son!" "We didn't do anything sir, besides fight the enemy." I replied. "Leave me," "But..." "Just leave." Later, when we arrived back at Salamandastron, we told Lord Tammo all about it. "Hmmm. Do you think they'll try to get us back or the thieves?" He questioned me.
"I don't know."
The next day a 3 hares, 2 otters and 2 squirrels arrived back panting. They were the patrol that had been sent out earlier that day. "Lord, we came back as fast as we could to tell you the news. Log-a-log and his shrews were getting us with hit and run tactics. None of us attacked back, we just defended ourselves. What should we do?" He thought for a moment. then he replied, "Send fourscore warriors to talk. Don't attack. If they attack us, just defend yourselves. When any of you get the chance, talk to Log-a-log about this. Oh and also, bring a white flag. That may save us some trouble." "Yes sir." Our army left the mountain. When we got within sight of the Guoism shrews we raised the flag. "What do you want with us?" they asked. "We want to have peace between each other. "Yeah, why? So you can kill another of us?" "No. We didn't kill your son."
"Yeah, then who did?" "Log-a-log, I saw it myself. They didn't kill our son. A ferret did," his wife said. He thought for a moment. "Let there be peace between Salamandastron and Guoism!" A great cry rose between us all.

Myself ,Briggs and Hon Rosie were all to find out about this sudden rise of vermin presence in Mossflower was all
about. We searched from Salamandastron to Redwall and found nothing but some old campsite. We asked the abbey dewellers if they had seen any suspicous activity in their neck of the woods. One small hedgehog dibbun had seen two weasels walking in a southeast course several days ago but other than that nothing. Since that was our only lead we started southeast. The next day we found more and more campsites.it seemed many vermin were heading for one spot. The only problem was we didn't know where that spot was.Later that day we found a old mole lady shooken with fear. "Zurrs, ther be 12 score beasties, burr, oi, comin' roight at me. Hurr, oi's hoided in the brush. Ev'ry beast...t'was a vermin. They's were goin ta ol' scheme's point zurrs." she explained this to us and walked off as if we weren't there. Hon Rosie had seen scemes point as a youth. She said that it was a hideout fer vermin. They just find it natural to go to. As we approached it we zigged and zagged as not to be seen. As we came closer we saw many campfires and about 150 vermin. One ferret got up on a stone and called the camps to attention. As he started to speak, I could see the amount of disrespect every vermin had for this ferret. His words were these: "Me friends,we've waited to get revenge on all goodbeasts for what they have done to us.You know me as the oppresser of the southlands. Now I will be that of the north when we take Redwall and Salamandastron!" No applause or shouts of encouragement were made after the statement, things more like this were said: "More like depresser of the south. You couldn't run a decent campaign if your life depended on it!" "Those Salamandastron beasts would rip us to shreds!" The ferret was booed off his platform and already vermin started to leave. So in a sense the Long Patrol did take care of this mission. Our fame and the ferretleaders non-fame had beaten a vermin horde!
Mission # 40; Completed by Swiftback
I picked two score fighters and ran out of the mountain. Luckily, the ship still was on the horizon, pretty far away. Immediatley, we set to work building sand hills, pits with spikes at the bottom, pits to hold us and lastly, notches in the mountain to climb up the side. I would put a score of warriors on the side of the mountain, disguised, half a score in the pit and half a score behind the sand hills. I would stand alone on the beach (or what looked like it). I would stomp my feet on the ground. That would signal for the beasts in the pit to jump out. When they jumped out, the ones behind the sand hill would jump out and join the others. Then, the vermin would probaly run at us. They would fall in the pit with spikes and decrease their number dramaticly. They might not charge for a while. When there was open battle, the score of beasts on the mountain would charge down. Hopefully, we would win. We got in our positions right when they were in viewing range. They dropped anchor and got in their longboats to come ashore. The plan worked just as planned. We only lost 4 warriors, a hare, an otter and 2 squirrels. We killed most of them when they charged and fell in the spiky pit and in open battle we backed them up into the spiked pit. We are victorius once again!
