GUN CONTROL:
The theory that a woman found dead in an alley,
raped and strangled with her panty hose, is somehow morally superior to
a woman explaining to police how her attacker got that fatal bullet wound.

FIREARMS
QUICK FACTS
By Garry Breitkreuz,
MP – Updated June 11th, 2003
Dear Firearms Owner, July 28, 2003
This is a brief reminder to support CUFOA at their firearms rally on Parliament Hill at noon, Monday, September 29.
As you may know, CUFOA has been on a month-long rolling rally across Canada. on your behalf, to challenge the legitimacy of C-68: The Firearms Act.
If you are in the vicinity of Ottawa at this time, you are invited to support the cause and protect their right to defend our Canadian freedoms.

Here's
what THOSE Officers say about this Gun Registry Farce
Hows the Registry Doing?
REMEMBER THIS NATIONAL POST
ARTICLE JUST ONE MONTH AGO?
"As of this week, the Canadian Firearms Centre
reported 1.5 million of an estimated 2.3 million gun owners now have at
least one registration certificate in the registry system. The firearms
centre last April 15
reported 294,301 individuals still had to
register long guns and 338,121 still had to re-register handguns. The agency
said then it had a backlog of 177,897 applications to register."
Their so far behind, they will 'never' catch
up. Remember, according to import sources, 250,000 MORE guns are imported
every year. The marvellous computer system, handling as few as 7000 transactions
still slows and crashes, even though MANY internet systems handle a million
or more transactions a month without costing a Billion and a half dollars.
Makes you wonder who the hell designed this system? The Three Stooges!

REMEMBER! A Billion Dollars
could
have REALLY saved Lives.
But Chrétien's Liberals,

Happy Canada Day Eh! |
Woefully Ignorant Liberal McGuinty, Says it Would Not Cost Anything For Eves To Support Gun Registration
MCGUINTY: I am a big huge fan of gun registration. We are at a
point in our society where we got to make a decision. The United States
of America today, 40% of the folks there keep a gun around the house,
and they'll tell you for purposes of self-defense. I want our guns in
this province and indeed in this country to be registered. I want our
police to know who owns the guns and I want them to know where they are
kept in that house. If we've got some procedural problems along the way
because it's becoming too expensive or it's burdensome, then let's
address those issues. I think the principle is sound. ..... After
considerable debate, McGuinty states that it doesn't cost anything for
the Premier to say that he supports gun registration. McGuinty
again addresses concerns around cost: MCGUINTY:
It doesn't cost anything, and it's very important that it be done, and
that's for the Premier to stand up and say, "I support gun
registration." If you've got some problems with the cost associated
with the system that's been put forward, then let's address those, but
I think it's important for the leader of the land to stand up and say,
"We will have gun registration in our province."(My god, he IS
woefully ignorant! Just from the fact that he released this information
'AGAIN' Shows that he has learned absoloutly nothing, and supports
Liberal waste no matter what the ultimate cost! Your right Mr.
McGuinty! The only thing it would
cost the premiere to say something like that would be his self respect.
And, the respect of hunters, trappers, farmers, and sports shooters all
over Ontario. Because they would know that then 'he' would be much like
'you', fairly ignorant of what the 'real' problem is. It would cost
all Ontario citizens millions of dollars for something that has NEVER resulted in reduced crime ANYWHERE
in the world. Instead, it is always something that has turned ordinary
citizens into unarmed fodder for the predators among us. Criminals do
not respect the law, regardless of how many, or what laws you pass.
Giving them the vote, coddling them in court, and handing out short
meaningless sentences, only let them know what a bunch of spineless
'patsies' the liberals really are. Only the defective thinking of
people like McGuinty and Chrétien seems miss this! God help us, and
the entire country if ignorant liberals such as McGuinty end up at the
helm of the Ontario industrial engine. Our great grandchildren will not
live long enough to pay off the debt that will be generated by these
knee-jerk legislators! If you Shoot, Hunt, Fish, Farm, or simply
collect firearms, voting Liberal in the next election will be the same
as voting for the elimination of your sport, hobby and/or your
livelihood. A Liberal government as proven by Ottawa, is simply the
thin edge of the socialist wedge. A wedge that can't seem to tell the
difference between law abiding citizens, and gun toting criminals. A
government is 'supposed' to reflect the TRUE wishes of ALL the people,
not the distorted, twisted lies and manipulations of their supporting
special interest groups, and of course, their own hidden agendas. McGuinty is in
'lockstep' with the Ottawa Liberals, so Ontario can expect the same
type of graft, patronage, dictatorial policies, and lack of rural life
representation that we currently are inflected with from the Ottawa
Mob.. )
SUPREME COURT RULED: CANADIANS HAVE
NO PROPERTY RIGHTS
“Anything
you own can be expropriated without due process and without compensation say the
Supremes.”
Yorkton
– Today, Garry
Breitkreuz, Official Opposition Critic for Firearms and Property Rights,
denounced a Supreme Court decision saying that the government has the power to
take anyone’s property without due process and without compensation simply by
passing an “unambiguous” law. “We
have just lost one of our most important freedoms necessary for the existence of
a truly free and democratic society. The
right to life and the right to property go hand-in-hand – you can’t have one
without the other. When Parliament
resumes sitting in September, Canadian Alliance will be introducing a motion
calling for property rights to be entrenched in the Charter of Rights and
Freedoms,” promised Breitkreuz. What
got Breitkreuz so riled was the Supreme Court’s July 17th judgment
in the class-action suit Authorson v. Canada in which the Supremes ruled
in favour of the federal government and against mentally disabled war veterans
(see supporting documentation). The government amended the Veteran Affairs
Act to avoid paying hundreds of millions in interest on pension benefits the
government had held in trust for about 30,000 veterans.
The Supreme Court ruled: “Parliament has the right to expropriate
property, even without compensation, if it has made its intention clear and, in
s. 5.1(4), Parliament's expropriative intent is clear and unambiguous.”(As
has been said, time and time again. Not just the Liberals, but ANY majority, unresponsive Canadian
government, has what it takes to take what you have. The original law
denying 'some' veterans their pension rights, was passed by Mulroney's
Conservatives, and cheered on by the current Liberals. With out
property rights, and the necessary banning of federal use of the 'not
withstanding clause' nothing you own is safe from the government, even
your own personal safety and the constitution itself is on the
table!)
Premier targets federal gun registry
Ontario Premier Ernie Eves used Peterborough as
his back drop Tuesday morning to announce Ontario will not prosecute
those charged under the federal firearms registry. Calling the registry
a waste of money which has done nothing to stop
gun crime or the illegal flow of guns from south of the border, he said
prosecuting those under the registry will not be a priority of Ontario
prosecutors. They will, he added, prosecute those charged with Criminal
Code offences concerning guns. In a campaign pledge, he said his
government, if re-elected, would
instead focus on cracking down on gun-related crime, having tougher
sentences in place for those who use a gun to commit a crime and create
special courts for dealing with firearm-related offences. There is another link to this story here
American Civilians Receive Counter-Terrorism Training in Israel
Caesarea (CNSNews.com)
- An explosion -- then a burst of automatiic weapons fire. Five
Americans are caught in the middle. This time though, the Middle East
"terror attack" is simulated, designed to give these civilians a taste
of the real thing in order to teach them how to respond to emergency
situations. A small group of "average" American citizens became
the first civilians this week to participate in a new program that
trains civilians in Israeli counter-terrorism measures. Named
after a famous Civil War battle, "Operation Shiloh" aims to give
participants new skills and an awareness to protect themselves, their
families and friends. The exercise also gives them a feel for what it
is like to live in an environment where terrorism is a constant threat(As
all good Liberal Canadians know, the threat of a terrorist attack in
Canada is non-existent because the government has decided that since
there are only 7 million firearms in all of Canada, and 90% of them are
registered in our "fantastic" new registry, Canadians (except for the ones currently being shot, robbed and/or beaten by criminals)
are so much safer now that our government has taken these measures. And
this "culture of safety" will continue as long as they keep their heads
buried in the sand, thereby protecting us all)

“UNITED WE STAND”
Eves blocks enforcement of federal gun registry- looks for real solutions to a real problem.
PETERBOROUGH — Ernie Eves, Ontario's Premier,
today announced a real plan to deal with gun-related crime, calling the
Federal government's $1 billion gun registry a waste of money and
resources, that targets law abiding citizens instead of criminals. "We will not waste the time of our police and busy
courts with prosecutions under the federal Liberals' over-priced,
ineffective gun registry boondoggle," said Eves. "Instead, we will
remain committed to initiatives that work, like cracking down on
gun-related crime, tougher sentences for criminals who use guns to
commit crimes, and special courts for firearm-related offences. Click here for the SECOND NEWS RELEASE The federal government has produced no evidence that the gun registry
has had any positive effect on reducing criminal acts involving
firearms. Federal statistics indicate the registry has had little
public safety impact, and the number of homicides involving guns has
not been affected in any demonstrable way. There appears to be no
evidence that the firearms registry has either deterred or helped solve
any homicides since its introduction. We will instruct our police and Crown Attorneys
that gun crimes are a priority and will be vigorously prosecuted.
However, federal paperwork and registration rules will NOT be a
priority for provincial prosecutors. This out-of-control program has cost taxpayers an
estimated one billion dollars to implement, Instead of harassing
law-abiding hunters, farmers and sports shooters, Ottawa should spend
that money on effective measures such as combating gun smuggling and
theft, and keeping gun-using criminals behind bars. Liberal Quotes: "I am a big, huge fan of gun registration.. And it doesn't cost anything." Dalton McGuinty, CFRB, February 2000 "We believe the gun registry is a good law and
this government should work with the federal government to enforce it,
rather than fight it." Dominic Agostino, MPP Hamilton East-Hansard, October 2000 (With
a provincial election on the horizon, you would have to be a f'n idiot
to vote Liberal, and turn the provence over to the likes of 'yuppy' Dalton
McGuinty. One only has to 'remember' that last time the liberals were
running Ontario, they were so bad, so arrogant, so wasteful, so
deceitful, that we actually replaced them with the NDP, and 'they' just
about bankrupted the Ontario economy. Ontario is the industrial engine
of Canada, and a Liberal government here, would be absolutely disastrous for the entire country.)
Oh! Kanada: Open Letter To The Sierra Times By
Peter Wilson
While we sat
back and enjoyed our television and our bar b.q. and our saturday night
hockey , these nefarious groups were hard at work re-engineering the
social fabric of our society. Then one day it was too late. Family
values, church, freedom of speech, private property were all a thing of
the past. Now we can be proud of our achievements: Gay marriages,
legalized pot laws, feminism gone askew, courts that punish the law
abiding and reward the guilty. Treating citizens differently before the
law--a true mockery of justice. Disparity between the provinces,
causing dissention between east and west. Centralizing power into the
hands of a few corrupt politicians determined not to relinquish their
new despotic authority. Finally, disarming the predominately male sport
shooting groups with new draconian laws that make firearm ownership
extremely difficult if not impossible. All in the name of safety. Does
this sound familiar? For the first time in Canadian history a man could
go to federal prison for up to TEN years for NOT doing something.i.e.
not registering his duck gun. On July the first of this year, nearly
half a million men became instant felons for not doing so. (The
social re-engineering of Canada will not stop until the Liberals are
defeated. The Liberal credo of "Power at any cost" was accelerated by
Trudeau, and will continue on with Paul Martin at the helm, unless
Canadians wake up, and put our country back on the road to respect, and
international significance. )
ANOTHER Death is Credited to the RCMP and The Gun Registry
Jack Gentle was a 30-year Canada Post
worker who never married and
lived in a house on Eighth Avenue in New Westminster until he suffered
a stroke. On paper, the only thing that stands out about his life was a
lifelong passion for guns. His collection on June 19, when the RCMP
came with a search warrant
to seize it, consisted of 84 firearms (some antiques, some replicas)
and two rocket launchers. As police carted off the arsenal from a home
on Victoria Drive in
Coquitlam, where friends were caring for him, he sneaked inside and
turned one errant handgun on himself, says RCMP Cpl. Tom James. "When
someone is not under arrest, they're free to walk around so
long as they don't impede the search," James said. "He was able to . .
. lock the door and barricade himself."(The
break in and theft of two firearms was not his fault, 'he was a
victim'. BEFORE
C68, the 'local' police would simply visit a person such as Mr. Gentle,
and arrange for someone to look after his firearms until such a time as
he was well enough to take them back. Incidents such as this NEVER
happened before the 'raids & seizures' started. The "if it saves
only one life it's worth it" bullshit has gone on long enough. Now it's
costing lives,...several to date! Also note the media bias yet again!
They carted of the "arsenal" not the "collection" What really surprised
me, is they actually, previously, referred to it as a "collection" and
not the usual "cache" )
60 Whole Minutes of Media Bias.
The movie "Bowling For Columbine" poses a question: Why do so many Americans kill each other with guns?
It opens with Moore visiting a bank that gives you a gun instead of a toaster as a premium when you open an account.
"Bowling for Columbine" is, in part, a love story: America's love affair with guns.
"How many people are killed by guns each year? In France...255. In
Canada...165. In the United Kingdom...68. In Australia...65. In the
United States...11,127," says Moore in his documentary.
But is the problem the number of guns in America? Moore thought so,
until he went to Canada, and found they've got lots of guns, too. But,
for some reason, they don't lock their doors.
(What
a completely unmitigated bunch of crap! This episode of 60 minutes
interviewed Michael Moore. Well, it was more like a commercial for
Liberal Democrat ignorance. Not once did they address any of the
"Fictions" portrayed in this 'Mockumentary' starting with the first one
of being handed a gun at a bank, nor the 'creative' editing that put
Hestons "From my Cold Dead Hand" speech after Columbine and not years
previously where he was awarded a antique flintlock musket. They even
replayed that part and alluded it to columbine. What they also 'always'
fail to mention is that although 11,127 people were killed by firearms,
most were criminals & suicides. If all the law abiding gun
owners handed in their firearms tomorrow, the firearms death rate in
the good old U.S.A. would
skyrocket beyond belief, because just as in Canada, firearms save MANY
more lives every year than are taken by suicides, and criminals.
Multiply by many times, the rise in firearms related crimes in the U.K.
after 'their' disarmament, and the bloodbath will be obvious to all but
these Liberal twits that live in some kind of dream world.)
Poll finds most Canadians back pellet gun ban
Those in Quebec (64 per cent), Ontario (58 per cent), Atlantic
Canada (57 per cent) and British Columbia (51 per cent) were most
likely to agree with a ban. In contrast, only 30 per cent of the
respondents from Saskatchewan and Manitoba agreed with a ban. A divide emerged when urban and rural areas were compared. Some 58
per cent of urban Canadians agreed with a pellet gun ban, compared with
44 per cent of rural Canadians.(Most
Pellet guns used in the city, and 'seen' by most urban dwellers, ARE
used improperly. So this yet another uninformed polling response simply
reflecting that limited knowledge. Most rural Canadians believe that
'people' should be accountable for their actions. Most urban dwellers,
used to blaming 'things, circumstances, other people, or institutions
for all their problems and failings, tend to lean the 'other' way..
This is the same group that when they stub their toe, they tend
to blame the 'chair' or the person that left it in their way, rather
than their own stupidity. Will this ever change? not likely, as
long as successive liberal governments and their appointed judges, keep
abrogating personal responsibility and fail to administer the 'current'
laws as written. Drunk driving is 'also' against the law, and results
in far more pain and suffering than virtually any other cause, but we
don't see these same 'people' calling for a ban on alcohol do we? Why?
because 'that' would affect 'them' wouldn't it? Everything seems to be
acceptable to the ignorant, as long as the consequences affect someone
'else'.)
A Walsh Public School student displaying natural handgun shooting ability at just 12 years of age.(From the Ontario IPSC site)
There
is something unique about Ian Collis. From a distance, the Grade 7
student looks like an average 12 year old. After classes at Walsh
Public School, Collis delivers papers to his Pinegrove neighbours,
enjoys playing outside and spending time with friends. What sets Collis
apart from other youngsters is one particular skill. He's got a real
natural talent", says proud pop, Ron. "He's smooth, accurate and fast.
He beats me all the time." While his schoolmates' conversations are
dominated by tales of hockey and baseball games, Ian keeps his life as
a phenom in the world of handgun shooting, quiet.(It's
truly unfortunate that this young man must keep his love of the sport
"quiet". No doubt his 'liberal' school teachers, and friends parents,
would simply not understand why this young man loves to engage his
obvious skills, while at the same time, not being a threat or danger to
anyone! It simply defies 'Liberal Logic' <--Oxymoron)
Shut the gun registry
While aboriginals make up just 3% of the Canadian population,
aboriginal offenders commit nearly one-quarter of the country's
firearms murders and other violent crimes involving guns. Aboriginals
account for a similarly disproportionate share of the victims of
murder, armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. In most crime
surveys, 60% to 80% of reserve residents report witnessing unsafe or
even criminal misuse of firearms each year. The answer is simple. As most Liberals realize without admitting,
Canada's billion-dollar gun registry will never reduce gun crime, nor
save a single life. It exists only because gun control is a fashionable
political cause in Toronto and other urban areas where most people
would not know a shotgun from a flintlock pistol. But since aboriginal
rights is an even more politically fashionable cause, the gun registry
-- and all the lives it will supposedly saave -- has been trumped on
reserves by the Liberal instinct to indulge natives. By failing to enforce the gun registry on reserves, the Liberals are
implicitly admitting that they either do not care about saving Indian
lives; or that the gun registry is useless. Assuming we can discard the
first, more scandalous, hypothesis, the most sensible response to Mr.
Breitkreuz's laudable detective work is clearly to shut down our
useless, wasteful, billion-dollar gun registry.(There
is documented evidence the registry has cost lives, not saved them.
People that have never owned or even fired a gun are now speaking out
against this useless waste of money. Particularly those people
that have friends and relatives on a 3-4 month waiting list for high
tech medical diagnostics such as MRI's. This Billion wasted dollars
could have 'tripled' the number of these machines in Canada, and REALLY
saved some lives. Unfortunately for those people, Liberal politics is
NOT about saving lives, but about getting votes from firearms ignorant
city dwellers, and maintaining the liberal credo:"power at any cost".)
Mr. Easter Must be So Proud!
P.E.I. leads all provinces in increasing crime rate
Prince Edward Island's proud
boasts about its "island way of life,"
pastoral scenery and relaxed pace have been dealt a blow by statistics
that show its crime rate has grown more than any other province's.
Crime rose by 11.5% in P.E.I. in 2002 and there were more criminal
incidents per 100,000 people than in the other three Atlantic
provinces, Quebec or Ontario, according to Statistics Canada. Increases
on the island included violent crime (15%), property
crimes (8%), break-and-enter (29%), disturbing the peace (6%) and
mischief (12%). Basil Stewart, Mayor of Summerside, P.E.I.'s
second-largest city,
refused to comment on the figures. "I heard today that P.E.I. was
chosen as one of the best islands in the continent to live in. I know
it's a pretty good corner of the world to live," he said. P.E.I. had
7,628 criminal incidents per 100,000 people, compared
with 5,832 in Newfoundland and Labrador, 7,609 in Nova Scotia, 6,608 in
New Brunswick, 5,697 in Quebec and 6,073 in Ontario.(If more 'Annes' were leaning out of more 'Green Gables' with loaded shotguns, the violent crime (15%), property
crimes (8%), break-and-enter (29%) might be quite a bit lower.)
Fewer guns used in robberies
Canadian robbers are giving up their guns, a trend that has prompted
some crime experts to suggest that the country's controversial firearms
legislation may be having a positive effect. While the robbery rate dipped only slightly in the decade between
1992 and 2002, the number of robberies involving guns per 100,000
people declined by 62 per cent, according to Statistics Canada data
released yesterday. "We know that, as a result of the [national gun] registry, it's been
claimed that thousands of Canadians — we don't have the exact number —
are saying that the registry is too onerous and they're giving up their
firearms," he said. Prof. Gabor pointed out that there has been no systematic evaluation
of the effects of the gun legislation. And the decline in gun use
during robberies began before it was introduced, so the law is not the
only reason. But the drop is clear.(What
the government fails to realize, is: When the famous flawed telephone
poll determined that many were going to give up their guns, they did
not mean 'give them up to the government or anyone else' what they
meant was they would simply, quietly, put them away until sanity
finally returns to a Canadian government. Give them up simply means
they are temporarily in storage. There are NO
figures anywhere that
show millions of guns are being turned in or disposed of, but figures
certainly 'do' show millions of missing guns! To be sure, the
propagandists at the CFC will jump on this and credit the registry with
the reduction in robberies. Grasping at straws is what they do best,
and they are becoming very good at it. What they certainly will
ignore, is the fact that 'handguns' make up the vast majority of
firearms used in robberies, and 'they' have been controlled and
registered for almost seventy years, with obviously NO effect. But hey!
That Billion wasted, has given 'thousands' of otherwise useless
bureaucrats, well paying jobs and power. And, that's really what
it's all about isn't it!)
And the "Culture of Safety" Continues
A man in his 30s was shot to
death in the middle of the street in downtown Montreal at about 3:20
a.m. Friday. Montreal police are seeking a black man in his 30s who
they suspect
is the murderer. It is the 25th killing in the city since the beginning
of the year. Investigators don't have much information about what the
motive
behind the crime that took place on Pierce St., between St. Catherine
St. W. and de Maisonneuve Blvd. W. The murdered man was shot several
times in the upper part of his body. He died in the hospital a few
hours later.(The firearms act:
Keeping guns out of the hands of those that should not have them.. I
guess this criminal simply hasn't read the damn thing yet eh!)
Four dead in Montreal murder-suicide
OTTERBURN
PARK, Que. -- A man who could not accept an impending breakup
with his wife shot her and their two adolescent daughters to death on
Thursday before killing himself, police said. The stepmother told police
the couple were having minor problems. On
Wednesday, the wife informed the man she was going to leave him and
planned to divorce him. "That could be the reason that pushed him to do
this terrible thing,'' Whadup said. The man had several firearms
registered in his name for hunting, police said.(What?
How could a "Registered Gun" be involved in something like this? Didn't
the government PROMISE the Canadian Public that Licensing and
registration would "prevent" things like this? Any surviving
members of this family, should launch a lawsuit against the federal
government for issuing a licence, and registering the firearms of
someone who would commit this type of crime. They promised that the
registry would eliminate this type of crime, and they wasted a BILLION
DOLLARS blundering along to make it work. Well, it obviously doesn't
work, so lets eliminate the useless registry and the useless waste that
goes along with it!)
Woman reports marijuana theft
"It's a strange story because we've never had anyone call in to say
they've had their drugs stolen," said Const. Steve Morrell. The incident is believed to be the first reported case of stolen
marijuana in the Greater Toronto Area since May. That's when a judge in
Windsor ruled that possession of less than 30 grams of pot is no longer
illegal. An 18-year-old woman in the northern Toronto suburb of Thornhill filed
the complaint last week. She claimed to have been robbed of about $20
worth of marijuana by two men, and assaulted when she tried to retrieve
it.(Calling
the Police to report your dope being stolen, is now more acceptable
than calling the police to report the old forgotten .22 in the attic as
stolen. The .22 can get you 5-10 for possession!. THIS is why the
firearms act is going to put MORE guns on the street. Who in their
right mind would report a forgotten, unregistered, old gun as stolen now? It
'might' be the responsible thing to do, but you will be left with a criminal record. Because of that alone, you are risking your family, job, and future.
Is it worth it? Just make sure their locked up safely, and that your
not a risk to the public. The solicitor general for Canada has stated
publicly that owning an unlicensed, unregistered firearm will NOT get
you arrested unless you are danger to the public. What a FARCE
this entire law is, and it's only costing taxpayers 2 Billion dollars
'for now')
N.B. premier says Ottawa should rethink its spending priorities
Ottawa will spend almost twice as much money in France than in the
Maritimes to commemorate the first permanent French settlement in North
America. Premier Bernard Lord said Wednesday that spending $19 million
in France to celebrate an event that happened in Canada is quite
stunning.
"When they (the federal government) neglect health care the way they
have been doing, but promote issues of legalizing marijuana, same-sex
marriages, pursuing their gun registry - which is a total waste of
money - shows that I think they're losing touch with the Canadian
public," Lord said.(Sounds
about par for the Liberal course! Why spend money in Canada,

Criminals who offer to apologize may escape prosecution
Criminals who apologise to their victims and make
amends could escape prosecution under far-reaching reforms that will
see offenders routinely confronted by those they have assaulted or
robbed. David Blunkett, the Home Secretary,
yesterday set out plans to use "restorative justice" schemes more
widely as an alternative to court to save money and ease record prison
overcrowding. Norman Brennan, chairman of the Victims of Crime Trust
and a serving police officer, said: "In my experience, very few
criminals show any remorse for their victim or ever ask after their
well-being. Most have utter contempt for the victim. "Most
victims would prefer to see burglars and robbers dealt with by the
courts and for offenders to be sent to prison. Of course they are going
to say sorry if they think it means getting away with it. But in
reality the only thing they are sorry about is getting caught."(Gad!!
Is this where we're headed too? I can actually see this becoming a
Canadian Liberal reality. After all, in their eyes there's no such
thing as a criminal, only 'misunderstood' individuals, in need of
rehabilitation. You can bet your ass, that after "rehabilitation" they
won't be living in Paul Martins neighbourhood will they?)
The issue isn't gun control but state control
The better view, I think, holds that freedom is indivisible, and its
defence isn't predicated on one's empathy with the particular freedom
that is being restricted or the particular human right that is being
denied by the state. The issue isn't gun control but state control --
obtuse and arbitrary state control, state control run amok. I'm neither
a hunter nor a gun collector, but I believe the protesters of CUFOA are
demonstrating for me. The suffragettes did likewise when they marched
to secure voting rights for women, even though I'm a man. Forget guns.
If Dr. Hudson, Mr. Turnbull, Dr. Gingrich and others end up in jail it
won't be for their guns but our liberties.(Every
single incarnation of Liberal government has resulted in the loss of
'more' individual rights and freedoms for Canadians. For a party that
brags about Trudeau's 'Charter of Rights and Freedoms' they certainly
waste no time in denying many of those very same "rights and freedoms"
to push the social engineering agenda of that other dysfunctional farce
called the United Nations. The constitutional RIGHT to security of the
person are truly just hollow words if the means to that "Security of
the person" are not available on an individual basis)
U.S. Plays Key Role in Small Arms Proliferation
UNITED
NATIONS, Jul. 10 (IPS/GIN) -- The National
Rifle Association (NRA), one of the most influential
pro-gun lobbies in the United States, argues that "guns
don't kill people, only people kill
people." But Natalie Goldring, executive
director of the Programme on Global Security and
Disarmament at the University of Maryland, believes the NRA
slogan is cynically flawed. She says
that guns not only kill about half a million people every
year but, more importantly, many of those weapons
overseas originate in the United
States. Goldring cites a new 329-page
study on small arms, released Monday, which says there are
at least 639 million firearms currently in circulation, of
which 59 percent are legally held by
civilians.(And
using exactly the same logic! Cars, and not their drunken drivers, are
responsible for hundreds of times more death and destruction than
firearms! Why is the U.N. not fighting vehemently for stricter 'car'
control? After all, it's for the children and if it only saved one
life..etc..etc..etc..)
LIBERALS
UNDER THE GUN AS MAJORITY OF ABORIGINALS BOYCOTT GUN REGISTRY
Documents reveal: Mohawk
communities of Kahnawake (5% compliance) and Akwesasne (less than 1%).
Yorkton
–
Today, Garry Breitkreuz, Official Opposition Critic for Firearms and Property
Rights, released 136 pages of Justice Department documents showing just how much
more trouble the gun registry is in as a result of non-compliance by Aboriginal
communities right across Canada. “Even
though the Justice Department blanked-out the actual non-compliance statistics
for 68 Aboriginal communities, they still provided about 5 pages of damning
evidence,” commented Breitkreuz (see attachment for excerpts).
“The documents show that only about half of the Aboriginal gun owners
have applied for a firearms licence. The
big problem for the government is that only those persons who have a valid
firearms licence can register their guns. Another
document indicates that the non-compliance problem in Aboriginal communities is
getting worse as time goes on and will further undermine the integrity of the
Firearms Act,” revealed the Saskatchewan MP.(Too
bad we can't find out for sure what the 'across Canada' compliance rate
'really is' all government propaganda aside. I would assume, it's in
the 20-28% range. Most have just registered 'one' and other has felt
that registering is a waste of time because it's now obvious that
having an unregistered firearm without being a danger to the public is
not something that will get you arrested. The LAST thing the feds want,
is a Supreme Court challenge on the worthless law)
With NO firearms child proofing, this 'could' have cost a life
Kelsey Murphy, 13, and brother
Logan, 11, found the weapon under a downed tree while looking for
sticks for a game of fetch with their Saint Bernard. "I just said
'whooaah.' I thought 'what is this doing here?'" said Kelsey, who
immediately carried it up to her mother "leaving the point towards the
ground." Kelsey, who has never held a gun, said she thought of how her
older brother, a U.S. army tank operator, has managed to stay safe
despite being surrounded by weapons on a daily basis. MOM THOUGHT IT
WAS A TOY Lorie Murphy said her first thought when she saw her children
was that they found a toy in the park where they often take their dog
for walks. "But when she handed it to me, it was very heavy," said
Murphy who quickly found a passerby with a cellphone to call police.
"It's never entered my mind streetproofing for this," said Murphy, who
admitted her mind was racing around how the gun made its way to the
park and what damage it could have caused.(The
original story came from a 'now dead' canoe link.. (now changed to
another source) The Mom though it was a toy, because like her children
she also was firearms ignorant. With the number of city shootings on
the increase, more and more children will find 'ditched' guns. Keeping
these children ignorant will not keep them safe. If that rifle had been
loaded, firearms ignorance may have caused a tragedy that a little
education could have prevented. Liberals do not support educating your
children in the dangers of finding a firearm. They just think if they
don't discuss it, the danger will somehow go away. How long will it be
before some child finds a discarded, loaded firearm, and through
ignorance points it at someone and pulls the trigger. 'Just like they
seen on T.V.' The ONLY education they have received to date!)
And the "Culture of Safety" Continues
The
deceased, believed to be in his 30s, was discovered between two houses
in the Scarborough neighbourhood just after midnight, while the second
victim was rushed to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. He's said to be
in serious condition, but is expected to survive. The wounded man's
pregnant girlfriend is being treated for shock. Police believe the
second man may have come up in his car at the wrong moment. “The second
victim … I think just pulled up as this happened or shortly after it
occurred. I don't think he was an intended target,” speculates
Detective Rudy Pasini. It’s believed the dead man may have been in one
of the houses before being shot. Several cars have been seized for
evidence.(The firearms Act! Keeping you unarmed and victimized when your in the wrong place, at the wrong time. "Canada: Disarmed, Defenceless, Dead. It's the Law!"
U.K. Gun control, keeping the Police safer?
Police are continuing to hunt a gunman who walked into a Glasgow police station and shot an officer.
PC John Cunningham was said to be in a critical but
stable condition in hospital after what his colleagues described as a
"despicable act".
The 53-year-old was hit in the side as he worked at the
front desk of Shettleston police station in the east end of the city at
2345 BST on Sunday.
Four people were detained after teams of armed officers surrounded a tenement 200 yards from the station on Monday morning. However, the two men and two women were later released without charge after questioning.
(U.K. style Gun
Control. Continuously assuring the public, that the 'only' people with
firearms are the criminals. Watch for it, coming to a Canadian city
near you!)
WAYNE EASTER ON ACCESS TO POLICE & MILITARY GUNS BY ORGANIZED CRIME
Question #89
Mr. Garry Breitkreuz: With respect to the Criminal Intelligence
Service Canada Annual Report on Organized Crime in Canada for 2002, in
the current and past years: (a) how many illicit firearms have
organized crime groups stolen or obtained by other means from the
police and the military; and (b) how many legally registered firearms
have organized crime groups accessed because they have breached the
Restricted Weapon Registration System and/or the Canadian Firearms
Registry?
Hon. Wayne Easter (Solicitor General of Canada, Lib.):
The Criminal Intelligence Service Canada (CISC) annual report on
organized crime in Canada for 2002 does not refer specifically to: how
many illicit firearms organized crime groups have stolen or obtained by
other means from the police and the military; nor how many legally
registered firearms organized crime groups have accessed because they
have breached the restricted weapon registration system and/or the
Canadian firearms registry.(This statement seems to have justified the ordinary firearms owners biggest fear! The
registry HAS been breached, because had it not, the Minister would have
staunchly denied weapons were stolen based on information retrieved in a breach. Instead, the minister confessed that
the
government has 'No Idea' of how many times the registry has been
breached, and the number of firearms subsequently stolen after their
locations were discovered during one of those breaches. Does this
"cache" of firearms information make 'you' feel safer? I didn't think
so!)
Put the gun registry out of its misery
The case for maintaining the
national firearms-registration system
weakens with each new example of mismanagement. A well-intentioned
initiative has been so wretchedly bungled it increasingly appears it
would be best simply to put the costly mess out of its misery. The gun
registry was proposed eight years ago as crime-fighting tool
to enable police to trace stolen guns and guns used in the commission
of crimes. But so far, it has proved itself primarily an annoyance for
law-abiding gun owners and a classic example of profligate government
spending; the registry now rivals the folly of the Olympic Stadium.(Regardless
of how much money has been wasted so far, wasting even more in an
attempt to avoid the unavoidable political embarrassment this
government will surely face, shows the voting public of just how
fiscally incompetent these liberal clowns really are.)
Redirect gun registry funds: report
City committee wants money spent on health, education, law enforcement, municipalities
The federal government should
abolish the $2-billion firearms
registry for long guns and redirect the tax dollars to municipalities,
health care, education and law enforcement, says a report to be
presented to a city committee. The money earmarked for long guns --
hunting rifles and shotguns --
in Bill C-68, the national firearms registry, could provide MRIs for
every hospital in Canada or hire at least 10,000 police officers, says
the report submitted by West Carleton Councillor Dwight Eastman. "Bill
C-68 introduced a number of valuable provisions pertaining to
gun ownership," the report says. "Few people would argue with new
regulations pertaining to the safe storage of all guns and ammunition,
tougher penalties for those using a firearm in the commission of a
crime, or additional restrictions on the ownership of fully automatic
weapons. "However, the requirement that every law-abiding Canadian who
owns a
hunting rifle or shotgun must register it is not only a tremendous
financial waste, but it serves no purpose," it further says. "It is
highly unlikely that criminals are registering their weapons."(The
really sad thing is, C-68 introduced none of those things as 'new'
requirements. They were ALL part of the previous law that was working
well, was more effective, and far less costly. Right from the start,
C-68 was just a Liberal pet project that got vastly out of hand, and
became the 'latest' porkbarrel symbol for this wasteful, arrogant,
government. It does absolutely nothing to make anyone safer, and never
will.)
A Case of Monkey See, Monkey Do
What
started off as a seemingly isolated incident of senseless violence has
snowballed, with two more pellet gun shootings taking place over the
last two days. On
Wednesday night a young man visiting the city from New York with his
parents allegedly shot out the back window of a car. Inside, were an
8-month-pregnant woman and her husband, who were targeted while driving
in the Eglinton and Weston area. The suspect has been charged and
appeared in court Thursday. Amid the
shock of the shootings, Police Chief Julian Fantino offers the hard
truth that banning pellet guns may not make any difference. “You can
ban pellet guns, you can ban anything you want. The reality is people
will use other things. And not too long ago I had people asking me my
view with regards to banning machetes because, as you know, there was a
machete attack in the city. Where is it going to end?”(If bans worked, Teenagers wouldn't be able to buy cigarettes today would they?)

Subject: CUFOA Meets Solicitor
General Wayne Easter: Yesterday in Prince Edward Island the CUFOA
Mobile Liberty Rally met with our nation's highest law enforcement
official, The Honourable Wayne Easter, Solicitor General of Canada. We
had a very frank discussion with Mr Easter. The six of us gave him
proof of our ownership of unregistered firearms without a license, and
asked that he arrest us. We are still free. We have established that
the federal government is more afraid of us than we are of them. We
have nothing to fear from the Canadian government; the Firearms Act is
a Paper Tiger unworthy of any type of compliance. We have been on the
road 20 days and only have one burned out automobile transmission after
visiting eight provincial capitols: We have now presented evidence to
officials of our blatant violation of the Firearms Act in the
provincial capitals of Victoria, Edmonton, Regina, Winnipeg, Toronto,
Quebec City, Fredericton, Charlottetown. We are now resting for two
days, then heading over to St John's, Newfoundland, back to Halifax,
then retun to Ottawa for a Freedom Rally on Tuesday, 29 July 2003,
where we will bury the Firearms Act Join us. Sincerely, Eduardo for the
Mobile Liberty Rally (These guys
are doing a GREAT job for all Canadians. Your chances of being arrested
for the simple 'crime' of not laying a piece of government issued paper
beside your duck gun, seems to be slim to none. For 'only' 2
Billion dollars, the feds are well on their way to registering even
'more' glue guns, soldering guns, and now, stolen guns. Oh ya, this
farce is doing a good job all right, doing a good job of fleecing all
Canadians. Public opinion is now speaking out, and demanding this farce
be ended, and damn soon too)
A nation stalked by fear
BRITAIN is living in fear as crime soars across the nation, two damning
reports revealed last night. Official figures showed that rapes and
street violence were
rocketing — despite attempts by Home Secretary David Blunkett to twist
the statistics and play down the crisis. And a survey proved that many
Sun readers were terrified of falling victim to thugs, muggers,
aggressive drunks and junkies. Police numbers disclosed that violent
crime leapt 22 per cent
last year, with female rape increasing by 27 per cent — from 8,990 to
11,441. last night’s statistics followed the revelation in January that
the use of firearms was rampant. A report showed a 35 per cent rise in
gun crime, to 9,974 offences. And officials admitted yesterday that
possession of firearms,
including sub-machine guns, was “out of control” in Birmingham,
Manchester and three London boroughs. .(You
can see where strict gun control in the U.K. has really made a big
difference. Rather than the "Culture of Safety" promised by their
government, strict gun control has in fact created the 'same' response
is has in every other corner of the world. This is ALWAYS the result of
disarming the law abiding citizenry. When the predators realize they
are safe from harm, the list of victims increases. The Police are NOT
able to protect you, and they have no mandate to protect you, only the public at large. If you are unable to protect yourself, you
are going to be a victim. The Canadian constitution guarantees
"Security of the person" if the police can not/ will not, provide this
protection, then you have the constitutional right to provide that protection for yourself and your family. )
U.N.
seeking global gun control
A U.N. group is working toward establishment of an international
system to register and regulate civilian possession of firearms, according
to a former congressman. The ultimate aim of many members of the conference
on small arms is to outlaw personal ownership of guns altogether, said
Georgia Republican Bob Barr in an interview yesterday on the newly syndicated
WorldNetDaily Report with Joseph Farah. The potential implications of that
are enormous, he said, noting it is a small step toward the ultimate nightmare
of American gun owners – "the U.N. knocking on our door to get our firearms."
"If we were to allow in any way, shape or form the U.N. to begin the process
of registering and regulating fire arms – ultimately their goal of doing
away with personal firearms – we would have dealt a blow to our sovereignty,"
he said. (A global government requires submissive
citizens. There are LOTS of countries on this planet where only the Government
can legally own firearms, but I doubt if many people would actually want
to live in one of them! This is also the REAL reason the liberals won't
scrap the registry, regardless of how many of our tax dollars are wasted.
The question to ask, before the next federal election is: Is Canada to
be controlled by the Liberals pacifistic commitment to the United Nations,
or is it to be controlled by Canadians who seek to create their own future
and freedoms. The choice apparently, is ours!)
U.N.
vs. Guns
An international gun-control fight. By John R. Lott Jr.
Political scientist Rudy Rummel estimates that the 15 worst regimes
during the 20th century killed 151 million of their own citizens. Even
assuming that the 300,000-gun-deaths-per-year-in-armed-conflicts figure
is accurate, the annual rate of government-sanctioned killing is five times
higher. Adding the U.N.'s estimated deaths from gun suicides, homicides,
and accidents still provides a number that is only a third as large. Of
course, this last numerical example is questionable as gun control is more
likely to increase than reduce violent crime. To put it in its most extreme
form, suppose that tomorrow guns were banned, who would be most likely
to turn them in? Presumably the most law-abiding citizens — not the criminals.
And my own research shows that disarming law-abiding citizens relative
to criminals emboldens the criminals to commit crimes. (The
facts coming in from Australia, the U.K. and now Canada certainly show
this research is accurate. Unfortunately, Liberal have 'never' let 'facts'
stand in the way of a good power grab before, and their not likely to now
either!)
Right
to carry would disprove horror stories
One particular fear raised by Holden is that right-to-carry laws
would actually make police officers' jobs more dangerous by making it more
likely that they would be shot. Yet research has shown that the laws make
police safer. Professor David Mustard at the University of Georgia found
that right-to-carry laws reduced the rate that officers were killed by
about 2 percent per year for each year that the laws were in effect. Several
studies find that as law-abiding citizens are allowed to defend themselves,
criminals are much less likely to carry guns. Fewer criminals carrying
guns makes the jobs of police less dangerous.(I don't
think I would like to live in a community where I felt safer by carrying
a concealed firearm. But, I HATE the fact that my government, thinks
most licensed, trained firearm owners are too stupid to be trusted with
a firearm to protect their lives. They will gladly trust a cop that that
may only fire his sidearm once or twice a year, to 're-qualify' but no
trust is granted to the IPSC shooter for example, that might fire 20,000
rounds a year with scores based on speed, accuracy, and safety! Which do
you think is the most qualified & safe with a firearm?)
With
'Head' Firmly Embedded, Bureaucrat Credits The Registry
Stolen Gun Re-Registered 3 or more times
David Austin,
a spokesperson with the Canadian Firearms Centre, would not comment on
the case because it is under police investigation. He said verification
of information such as serial numbers about guns should be done by businesses.
Winkel said the information was verified before the previous owner brought
the gun to the store to sell it in May. Before selling the gun in July,
Winkel said he checked the information and gave the same details to call
centre staff that he had also supplied by phone in May when buying it.
Austin said any problems with the process could be revealed in the police
investigation. He said the centre would co-operate with police and would
review its procedures if problems were found. Austin said locating the
stolen rifle proves the gun registry works. “In terms of the system working,
it appears the fact that the gun was stolen has come to light as part of
the registration process,” he said. (A 'simple' CPIC
check would have identified the stolen rifle. At one time, even
the public could use a CPIC
Search to flag a stolen gun, but now 'that' choice has been curiously
removed from the public access database. I assume they don't want the public
checking their own guns, thereby denying credit to the 'boondoggle' that
can't find them anyway! Only a useless bureaucrat would insist a Billion
Dollar Bureaucracy, which failed to flag it in three previous registrations,
should be credited with the discovery. It's just too bad this "system"
and accompanying waste is so sad, or it could be hilariously funny. Perhaps
a List of Stolen firearms should be quietly submitted by police as a test
of this "Fantastic Registry" and see how many have been reregistered to
their 'new' owners. If ONE got by, there are probably thousands
of stolen firearms re-registered by this wasteful farce, and in all probability,
their all over the country.)
Gun
program told of flaws in external audit of registry's finances
Limited review of accounts misleading to public, MPs, federal auditor
warned
Because of the amendment, KPMG was unable to conduct an "attest"
audit to judge the integrity of the Canadian Firearms financial records
from 1995 to 2002 and could only do a sample review of the centre's spending
and invoice records for a two-year period. The amendment, which was not
signed and approved until more than a month after KPMG submitted its final
report to the Justice Department, cost the government an additional $30,000,
raising the fee to $94,100.08 for two months work.A briefing memo prepared
for Mr. Cauchon suggests that the department obtained the services of KPMG
to try to restore the program's public image, rather than get to the root
of spending problems.(As I've said before: If it
looks like a pig, smells like a pig, and sounds like a pig it must
be a pig. And, even if you glue on wings it ain't gonna fly. But these
idiots keep pushing it off the roof of the barn anyway! Sooner or later,
it's gonna land on a 'Rock')
Playing
with guns is 'good for boys'
Holland claims that 30 years after the ban on playing with guns
and swords came into vogue, there has been no evidence of a decline in
their desire to play violent games. Boys continued to play behind the backs
of staff, even when they had been told it was wrong. Even when the plastic
guns and swords were taken away, they did what generations of boys have
done before. Pieces of wood, tennis rackets and even pens and crayons,
all became guns, swords, and daggers in the fertile young imagination.
Holland adds there is no evidence that boys were more or less likely to
grow into aggressive men because of the games they played.(Every
kid I grew up with, played 'Cowboys & Indians', or 'Cops & Robbers'.
Everyone had a gun belt and six-shooter. And NO-ONE had a problem with
kids randomly shooting people. That, started when the politicaly correct
ended firearms education, kids became 'firearms ignorant', and guns became
objects of curiosity rather than tools.)
Canada
'Safety Council' Firearms Ignorant as Usual
Mr. Thérien said the extent of the child's injuries did not
surprise him. "A pellet travels 600 feet a second -- you could have a feather
travelling at that velocity and it would cause very serious harm," he said.
"If lawn darts are banned, how is it that these weapons are not banned
or regulated?" However, Toronto police Chief Julian Fantino said banning
such weapons will not necessarily cut down on dangerous incidents. "The
laws are in place to deal with these issues," Chief Fantino said. "It's
not the weapon per se -- it's what use is made of the weapon. You can say
the same thing of a baseball bat or a garden rake."(Julian
Fantino, Toronto's Police Chief, is 'again' the voice of logic speaking
out to the ignorant. Perhaps no one has informed Mr. Thérien of
the Canada Safety Council, That if the pellet is travelling at 600 fps,
perhaps the airgun is 'already' classified as a firearm under Canada's
useless firearms act. Banning them will just provide a market for smugglers,
and drive 'all' sales of them underground where there is NO control. Much
the same as you see in the U.K. right now! After all, isn't shooting someone
already illegal, or did you simply overlook that one in favour of 'more'
poorly thought out, knee-jerk legislation? After all, if Bans Worked, all
bureaucrats and politicians would be honest wouldn't they? )
A
good idea from Quebec?
Editorial - Jean Charest is the first Quebec premier in memory to
come to a conference of his peers with a proposal that they could, and
quickly did, unanimously endorse. The Council of the Federation will give
the provinces and territories a common front from which to withstand federal
incursions on their constitutional mandate and regional interests. The
timing could not be more propitious. Prime Minister Jean Chretien’s government
has become increasingly arbitrary in its efforts to resolve on its own
those issues in which the provinces and territories also have a direct,
and frequently conflicting, interest. Gun registration was just such an
issue. Canadians may have supported its intent but were outraged by the
heavy-handed violation of privacy and extravagant cost of federal implementation.(Charest,
may be the light at the end of a long dismal tunnel for Quebec, and hopefully
the rest of Canada as well.)
Gun
registry travel bill totals $13M
Firearms centre unable to explain spending over last six years
The Canadian Firearms Centre spent $13 million on travel over six
years and nearly $500,000 on hospitality during the same period, a government
financial statement shows. The statement was compiled when KPMG accountants
conducted an audit of the controversial gun program earlier this year,
but it was not released publicly when the firm submitted its final report
to Justice Minister Martin Cauchon. Communications adviser David Austin,
who joined the centre three years ago, said one explanation could be that
the Justice Department consulted widely with firearms stakeholder groups
across Canada as regulations for the Firearms Act were being developed.
"I've got no way of tracking that one down, literally, that would be a
search of the records," he said. "How are they ever going to find that
one? It would be individuals, going back and digging up accounts." (This
is interesting in the fact that Cauchon never once, consulted the "stake
holders". Unless all this money was spent on frequent dinners, trips, and
perks for the coalition for gun control, as this was the only "stake
holder" there is any record of him talking to! C-68 has created one of
the largest pork barrels for politicians, bureaucrats, and their friends,
this country has seen since the H.R.D.C., another Liberal boondoggle. Why
are they not listening to Canadians, and shut this thing down? Because
they don't have to, they think their invincible, and the taxpayer to stupid
and/or uniformed to see the waste!)
Gun-laundering
registry a farce: One billion dollars a big investment for national firearms
lost and found
Wes Winkel, the manager of Ellwood Epps Sporting Goods in Orillia,
Ont., -- "For all your hunting, shooting, fishing and camping needs" --
says "OPP officers were laughing their heads off," when they came this
week to confiscate a hunting rifle from his store, just "two minutes north
of Weber's barbeque restaurant," on Route 11. OPP stands for Ontario Provincial
Police, the force that polices rural Ontario the way the RCMP polices much
of Alberta outside the big cities. The rifle had been listed in the RCMP's
national crime computers since it was reported stolen in Quebec in 1992.
Still, the Liberals' national gun registry had registered it not once,
nor twice, but three times. On the fourth, someone at the registry finally
got around to matching the rifle to the RCMP's list of heisted guns and
prevented its re-registration; actually, its re-re-re-registration.(A
trip to Ellwood Epps should be on the list for every Ontario Gun Owner.
(If
only to hear the ongoing laughter about this farce from visiting police
officers) If your passing by, drop in, the experience will be well
worth it. Epps is a 'old time' gun shop. Need a part, thing, or widget
for an old gun? If it exists, it's probably there 'someplace'. There
are displays of deactivated 'interesting stuff', exploded gun barrels,
bits and pieces that will make you go 'hmmmm'! Hundreds of firearms line
the walls, and always a number of sports shooters poking around in corners
of the shop, looking for what they illusive item they can't find anywhere
else. I try to go in at least one a month, and some of my 'hard core' gun
collecting friends have wives that won't speak to them, or are kept blissfully
ignorant, because they couldn't pass up the deal they found.. Ellwood Epps:
It's "worth the trip to Orillia"! Take my word for it!)
ALMOST
UNANIMOUS OPPOSITION TO GUN REGISTRY IN P.E.I
The purpose of the form was to find out what the residents of P.E.I.
had to say about the legislation in question. I encouraged both those in
favour of and those against the legislation to respond so I could get some
feeling on how the residents of this Province felt. The survey was conducted
over a period of approximately six weeks. I decided not to contacts such
groups as Wildlife Federations, Ducks unlimited, Enforcement Agencies,
etc. as I did not want to be seen as weighting the results. I would also
like to add that the form only appeared in the newspapers once. Based on
the replies and comments I have received the majority of Islanders oppose
this legislation. The following is a list of the major comments from the
survey and attached is the complete list of comments; Survey: – Survey
period - March 01, 2003 to April 15, 2003 – total number surveyed - 407.
Those in favour of the legislation - 2. Those opposed to the legislation
- 405 (And, I'm justt as sure the very same results
would be found in EVERY provence and territory of the country. The taxpayers
have recognized this legislation for the wasteful farce that it really
is. To keep this sham operating, simply shows the disdain the Liberals
have for the taxpayer's wishes. This arrogance is absolutely astounding,
just like the 'last' time they formed a majority government, and just like
it will be when the taxpayers again forget, and give them another majority
government sometime in the far future!)
Philippine
weapons owners stick to their guns despite calls to disarm
MANILA (AFP) - Firearms owners in the Philippines are fighting
efforts by the government and private groups to curb gun ownership. A lawsuit
on the right to bear arms has been filed by a prominent gun enthusiast,
and groups defending the right to own guns are recruiting members to counter
rival bodies seeking to restrict the number of guns in private hands. Ironically,
the campaign for the right to own guns gained strength when President Gloria
Arroyo in January issued an order banning civilians from carrying their
weapons outside of their homes. The order effectively revoked hundreds
of permits to carry firearms that the Interior Department had already issued
to private citizens who said they needed guns for self-protection or professional
reasons. Pro-Gun argues that the crackdown on guns mainly affects the licensed
owners of firearms and does nothing about the unlicensed guns in the hands
of criminals, communist insurgents and Muslim separatists. Frank Chavez,
a former chief government lawyer, filed a petition with the Supreme Court
to have Arroyo's order suspended on the grounds that it was unconstitutional.
Carlo Ybanez, a lawyer who helped draft Chavez's petition, conceded that
Filipinos, unlike Americans, do not have the right to bear arms enshrined
in their constitution. "But we can argue that we have the right to carry
arms because it is intertwined to our rights to protect life, especially
here in the Philippines where we all know that the police cannot protect
the citizens," he said. Officials said 800,000 firearms licenses had been
issued this year to civilians and government officials. Another 328,000
firearms are believed held by civilians without police authorization. (The
Philippines, like most countries that institute gun bans, usually have
much more to fear from their governments than criminals. And, like every
other place on the earth that has tried this, it only affects the law abiding
and the criminals remain armed. Their whole story sounds very familiar
to Canadians, I wonder if 'their' government is following the "Highly successful"
Canadian model? I also wonder if the philippines can afford such a fine
example of useless bureaucracy?)
Mental
Defectives shoot 5 year old child
TORONTO -- A five-year-old boy was in a Toronto hospital last night
with a pellet lodged in his brain after an apparent shooting rampage while
thousands of people walked waterfront-area streets after the Molson Indy.
City police said that the boy, who was not identified, is in critical condition
and faces life-threatening surgery after the pellet entered his brain through
his eye socket. Pellet guns, usually powered by compressed carbon dioxide,
resemble handguns and rifles but fire metal pellets instead of bullets.
They are not considered firearms and as such are not subject to the regulations
of the Firearms Act, however, safety advocates have long maintained pellet
guns should be classified lethal weapons. But, if a pellet gun is used
in the commission of an offence or to cause injury, charges can be laid
under the Criminal Code, police said.(A pellet gun,
or golf club for that matter, if 'used' as a weapon, IS a weapon under
the law. Anyone that uses 'either' item as a 'offensive' weapon 'should'
be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The criminals that injured
these people, regardless of what was used as a weapon, should face the
legal, and financial consequences of their indiscriminate actions. This
child is now blind in one eye, and may die. God forbid the worst should
happen, but if it does the 'main' charge should be 'murder' and not manslaughter.)
Saskatoon
City report cautions against killing crows
The report also indicates that in Saskatoon, the discharge of firearms
within the city is prohibited under a bylaw, unless permission is received
from the city. Police also require individuals to have valid firearm discharge
permits and the gun must be registered. "They would also require notification
each time the gun is to be discharged," the report states. "The potential
for property damage or wounding a bird should be a concern."(Only
makes sense! Everyone knows that the 25% of Saskatoon guns that are 'registered'
are so much safer than the majority of firearms in the city. And, don't
forget to call the city each time you are going to fire the gun. Don't
worry, the crow will wait..)
Moving
van driver home after Sask. arrest for hauling guns
WALKER, Minn. (AP) -- A long-haul mover from
Minnesota is back home after spending five days in Canadian jails because
Canada Customs officials found a large arsenal of weapons among the household
goods he was transporting for a man moving from Delaware to Alaska. Mark
Eller, 36, of Walker, specializes in transporting household goods from
the lower 48 states to Alaska and wasn't expecting anything unusual when
he pulled his rig into Canada Customs at North Portal, Sask., on June 29.
He told Customs inspectors twice he wasn't carrying any weapons. Eller
said the load had been in storage for a while and he forgot one of the
marked crates on his truck contained three rifles. (Perhaps
the procedure has changed? 25-30 Years ago, I used to bring 'lots of stuff'
across the border by truck. Usually around 2 am. When we reached the Canadian
border, we would simply request that a 'customs seal' be put on the trailer,
or truck box. We would then go on our way, and have the contents inspected
the next day at a Mid Continent Customs inspection station. They would
remove the seal, inspect the cargo, we would pay the duties required, and
be off! Why would trucking companies travelling across Canada, between
two states, not be bonded carriers? The entry would be recorded, the container
sealed, and inspected by U.S. customs at the Alaska border?)

The "Culture of Safety" Continues:Man, 36, killed in robbery
A business owner
is dead and another man injured after a vicious robbery at an Etobicoke
clearance outlet yesterday. "I hope they catch these guys.... It is utterly
shocking," said police Superintendent Ron Taverner after the incident at
Home Goods & More on Mars Rd. near Albion Rd. The 36-year-old proprietor
of the store was pronounced dead on the way to Sunnybrook hospital about
5:40 p.m. He had been shot twice in the chest. A second victim suffered
minor injuries when he was pistol-whipped by two men who burst into the
store demanding cash. Employees and customers watched in disbelief. "People
were traumatized. They're still in shock," Taverner said. (The
picture of the button says all that I have to say! And, it's about time
business owners started keeping a shotgun under the counter for fast access.
They can always take it home, and put it back into 'storage' when not needed
for personal defense )
Gun
activist finds it's hard to get arrested
Solicitor general says crusader likely won't get busted for 'stunt'
Truro - Canada's solicitor general doesn't expect five cross-country
crusaders against his gun registry to get their day in court any time soon.
"The police know the difference between a threat to public safety and a
publicity stunt," Wayne Easter said Thursday. "They're on a crusade across
the country trying to outline their point of view. People have a legitimate
right to protest." Nova Scotian Al Muir and four other members of the Canadian
Unregistered Firearms Owners' Association are travelling across the country
flaunting the fact they haven't registered their long guns. They want to
be charged so they can fight firearms regulations in court. "If there is
a threat to public safety, the police will act," Mr. Easter said during
a telephone interview from his office on Prince Edward Island. "Thus far,
from these individuals, we've not seen a threat to the public. (Talk
about a sad, sad, excuse for a Solicitor General! This just shows how 'toothless'
this law really is. These men have PROOF they have broken the law, not
just a law, but they are in VIOLATION of the Firearms act which is part
of the CRIMINAL CODE. Since when is it NOT an offence to violate any part
of the criminal code even for, or particularly for, a "publicity stunt".
The feds would prefer to see a "Direct Threat to the Public" then there
would be charges under a 'different' portion of the Criminal Code, because
they know the firearms act portion of the Criminal Code is too flawed to
convict anybody! It is also against the law for a person in a position
of authority to KNOW the law is being broken, and NOT report it, or take
action. The Solicitor General of Canada should know that HE is also
in contravention of the law for being in full knowledge of this illigal
act, and ignoring it. Are the Solicitor General, and other members of the
Liberal Party above the law? Do the laws of our country not apply to them
as it would to others? Obviously they don't think so! But one thing is
for certain. Has The Solicitor General of Canada, just
CONFIRMED
that owning a unregistered firearm while NOT being a "threat to
public safety" Will NOT get you arrested?)
AGAIN!
No one Listens to Wendys Weirdos
"Aggressive attacks on Canada by the National
Rifle Association (NRA) and the Canadian gun lobby only strengthen the
resolve of groups and governments around the world to tackle illegal gun
running," said Professor Wendy Cukier, President of the Coalition for Gun
Control (Canada), who attended the meeting.
Noting the repeated efforts in recent years
of the NRA to undermine Canada's gun control program, she said: "Our success
seems to make them nervous: Americans might actually realize there is another
path to follow. When we compare Canada to most countries in the world,
as we have over the past week, it's clear that we are on the right track".(The
Coalition for gun control, put this 'news release' on the Canadian wire
service July 11/03, and again, they have been ignored by the media. The
public is no longer behind this farce, and the media are well aware of
the twisted statistics they use in the vain attempt to push their paranoia
on others. Canada has always had gun owning citizens, and has always 'generally'
been a safe place to live. Nothing in their ridiculously expensive waste
of tax dollars has been responsible for this. and, if they think it has,
the media has been quick to realize their delusions!.)
Gun
owners beg to be arrested
NIAGARA FALLS – They have no intentions of dropping their weapons,
but, then again, they haven’t been asked to. “Arrest us!” they threaten.
“Throw us in jail!” they yell, but five provincial legislatures and a multitude
of police stations later, no one has taken the Canadian Unregistered Firearms
Association up on their offer. The association, comprised of six gun-owning
men, is travelling across the country in an effort to be properly charged
with possession of an unregistered firearm under the Firearms Act. These
opponents of gun registry have staged several displays of civil disobedience
in hopes of having the law subject to the proper judicial tests. Declarations
of their unlawfulness has been made directly to the government and police,
to no avail. “Nobody has arrested us and we want to know why,” said CUFA
member Bruce Montague. “With such an expensive, fancy new law, you think
they’d be willing to take it for a spin around the block.” He added: “We
think the police know it wouldn’t stand up in court, and deep down, the
government knows they’re right.” (The government,
for all intents and purposes, has been told in no uncertain terms to shit,
or get off the pot! Not one provence, has decided that it's worth the cost
involved, knowing that that 'any' conviction will go all the way to the
Supreme Court of Canada, to prosecute these men for a law that is so flawed,
so invasive of our constitutional rights, that there is no hope of conviction.
A toothless law that merely intimidates, causes stress, anxiety, and worry
for no reason whatsoever, begs to be tested. The Government is dead wrong,
and they obviously know it.)
Gun
registry means some {most} owners now criminals
The 200,000 people owning an estimated 1.6 million unregistered
firearms are now labelled criminals after the federally imposed grace period
deadline of June 30 came and went. David Austin, spokesperson for the Canadian
Firearms Centre, said people who aren’t yet in compliance with the new
laws are in jeopardy of being considered unlawful. “Our recommendation
to them would be to comply right away,” said Austin. “They face possible
criminal charges for not complying.” Federal officials pushed the original
Jan. 1, 2003 deadline back six months to protect gun owners, who have submitted
an application or a letter of intent, from criminal action. Of the estimated
two million licensed gun owners in Canada, about 75 per cent have a registration
certificate, said Austin, adding he guesses there are about 200,000 that
aren’t licensed or registered. One individual contributing to the 25 per
cent of unregistered, licensed gun owners is Wild Rose MP Myron Thompson,
who believes the entire registry is a feeble attempt at crime control.
“I’ve put my guns down in the States with a nephew of mine to look after
and he’s had them for quite some time. He’s had them in his gun cabinet
and I said, ‘whenever this country smartens up on their gun laws, maybe
someday I’ll come back and bring them home,’” said Thompson.(All
the number above are 'government' numbers widely accepted as propaganda,
gleaned from a simple telephone poll, and not from any actual import/export/distruction/manufacturing
records. The 'real' number of unregistered firearms is in the 'millions',
along with their owners. a 25-30 percent compliance rate clearly shows
this law is a farce, and NOT supported by the public in general)
Inuit
exempted from gun registration until case is resolved
In deciding whether to impose a stay, Kilpatrick
had to decide whether a refusal to do so could be so harmful to Inuit that
the effects could not be remedied after trial. NTI said Inuit rely on country
food for cultural as well as physical survival. However, the federal government
argued that Inuit could just as easily shop for food at a grocery store.(Didn't
someone once lose their head for a similar statement? "Let them eat
Cake"! The Idiots from the city, who wrote these laws, who also in most
cases have never set foot in the wilderness, seem to think there is a "Grocery
Store" or McDonald's around every corner of Canada! Most of these people
who live off the land, do not have a steady income and could NEVER
afford to pay the northern prices for the 'white mans food'. This only
proves one thing: In the Liberal Government, Ignorance knows no bounds!
Could the government 'also' be nervous because a 'race' of people have
just been exempted from a portion of the criminal code of Canada. If one
portion of the criminal code could be subject to exemption, the precedent
may have been set for 'any' other portion of the criminal code to also
garner an exemption.)
South
Fla. Law plans attack on gun crimes
Local, state and federal law enforcement are coming together in
South Florida to fight what they say are two of the biggest scourges of
society -- guns and illegal gun-toters. ''Crime in general has decreased,
but the amount of gun crime remains unacceptably high,'' South Florida
U.S. Attorney Marcos Daniel Jiménez said Friday. ``We're going to
attack gun violence with intensity and focus.'' That's where Project Safe
Neighborhoods -- part of a national $234 million initiative unveiled last
year by President Bush -- comes in. The South Florida district has already
received $1 million and stands to get another $1 million this year, Jiménez
said. The money will pay for equipment -- such as computers to trace gun
histories -- and additional staff to focus on gun violations, he said.
State and federal prosecutors will take a joint look at all violent gun
crimes and decide which can be prosecuted at the federal level, which generally
has stiffer penalties than state courts.(Canadian
courts seem to take the opinion that serious time for a crime is anything
from house arrest for a child pornographer, to 3 months jail (out in 30
days) for possession of a stolen handgun. Of course, Mr. Easter is calling
for prison terms and thousands of dollars in fines for farmers, hunters,
target shooters, and grandmothers that may have an old. unregistered .22
in the attic. And, they've spent over a billion dollars to do it. This
government 'clearly' can't identify a criminal in the general population,
unless they 'create' them themselves. So, they have spent this billion
and a half dollars to create a couple of million 'new' criminals who are
guilty of the heinous act of 'doing nothing' instead of registering themselves
like pedophiles and sex offenders... Wait a minute! The government does
not
register pedophiles and sex offenders, only farmers, hunters, target shooters,
and grandmothers that may have an old .22 in the attic! The only thing
that exceeds the level of arrogance in this Liberal government, is their
level of stupidity, and incompetence?)
Wayne
Easter's misplaced pride
Wayne Easter, the federal Solicitor-General, claims Ottawa's firearms
registry has "stood the test." Indeed, Mr. Easter is so proud of the program,
he had his officials sing its praises this week at the United Nations,
and encouraged other member states to follow Canada's lead. But given the
many scandals that have plagued the program, these comments raised eyebrows
back home. Indeed, this month brought a fresh gun-registry outrage: Thanks
to Ottawa's incompetence, 300,000 law-abiding gun owners were turned into
criminals on July 1. Forget the United Nations: Mr. Easter cannot even
get Canadian police to enforce his law. A half-dozen members of the Canadian
Unregistered Firearms Owners Association have been presenting themselves
at police stations across the country since the July 1 deadline. They have
been showing police that they have no registrations and asking officers
to charge them. So far, no takers. Why? Because it is hard for anyone --
except Mr. Easter -- to imagine such charges not being laughed out of court.
Canada's gun registry has become a sad symbol of government overspending
and incompetence. The last thing Mr. Easter should be doing is encouraging
other nations to copy Canada's billion-dollar folly.(These
are only small excerpts from this article. The ENTIRE article is a well
written condemnation of the farce that is the Canadian Gun Registry. One
of the 'best' ones I have read to date, and I have read lots! BRAVO to
the National Post. I hope this story gets the attention it so richly deserves.)
UnRegistered
Sex Offender Released to Halfway House in Holly's Neighbourhood
TORONTO - A Corrections Canada decision
to place a convicted sex offender in the neighbourhood where 10-year-old
Holly Jones was abducted and killed has angered local residents and certain
officials. Ontario's Public Security Minister Bob Runciman said the decision
shows a "lack of sensitivity." He plans to tell the federal government
that he's gravely concerned about the move. Justice officials said they
had no choice but to release the offender since he's served the required
two-thirds of a five-year sentence for criminal harassment and uttering
threats. The man has a lengthy criminal history stretching back 40 years
that includes rape and stalking teenage girls. (This
man has had 60 past convictions! WHY is he not declared and dangerous offender,
and locked up for the rest of his life? They KNOW he will re-offend, the
only question is WHO will the next victim be? One thing is known for sure,
the victim will be unarmed, it's the Canadian way!)
In
the First of Many, Court rules against Ottawa in gun registry fight
Inuit representatives have long argued that the registry not only
violates their land claim, but also has been implemented in Nunavut in
such a way as to make compliance difficult or impossible. Guns are present
in nearly every Inuk home, but few registration forms have been made available.
Those that are available are not in Inuktitut, the language of many Inuit
hunters, and the Canadian Firearms Centre closed its Iqaluit office. The
registry legislation affects nearly every Inuit home. Nearly every family
hunts to supplement expensive store-bought groceries and hunting is a crucial
part of Inuit culture.(Soon to spread over the entire
country)

Shotguns Winnipeg North End store owner after
he refuses to give up cash
(Canoe link, will vanish in

The owner of a North End convenience store
is recovering from a gunshot wound to his left arm after two thugs tried
to rob him late Tuesday night. About 11 p.m. Tuesday, two men -- one brandishing
a shotgun, the other armed with a baseball bat -- walked into Charles Lucky
Dollar Food Store at 291 Selkirk Ave. and confronted the lone owner, police
said yesterday. The shop owner armed himself with a bat and refused to
turn over any money. "During this confrontation, a shotgun was fired at
close range, striking him in the left arm," Const. Bob Johnson said. The
suspects ran from the store empty-handed. The owner, meanwhile, was rushed
in unstable condition to Health Sciences Centre, where he underwent emergency
surgery. He was listed in stable condition yesterday. (The
store owner would have been 'much' better off to take 'his' shot gun out
of storage, and keep it handy for defensive purposes. The courts have already
exonerated a pharmacist for doing this.)
Gun
fight goes to court in November
Edmonton - A former sargeant-at-arms will
have the opportunity to fight the new federal gun registry when he goes
on trial in November. Oscar Lacombe, charged with carrying a weapon to
a public meeting and being unlawfully in possession of a weapon without
a licence or a registration certificate, will stand trial Nov. 7. He wasn't
charged under the new federal firearms act. On New Year's Day, Lacombe,
74, brought his gun to a protest against the federal gun registry at the
Alberta legislature. Opponents of the federal gun registry had started
raising money for Lacombe's defence long before he was charged.(He
wasn't charged under the firearms act because the feds know it's so full
of holes no court in the land will support it!)
UN
gun control forum told of Ottawa's registry woes
Critic tells of huge costs: International lobbyists 'had' praised
Canada's efforts
Canadian government officials watched straight-faced at a United
Nations conference on gun control yesterday as a leading opponent of Ottawa's
gun registry recounted its cost overruns and questioned its effectiveness.
"I know you have heard many reports of its technological brilliance and
its unmitigated success," Tony Bernardo told delegates representing the
UN's 192 member countries. "I might suggest to you that the government
of Canada has been less than transparent in its reporting of the accomplishments
of its domestic firearms control system." Mr. Bernardo, speaking as executive
director for the Canadian Institute for Legislative Action, challenged
Ottawa's claims about the efficiency of its domestic gun registration system.
He also pointed out the system has been much more expensive than expected,
and warned poorly thought-out programs can deny money for other projects,
such as fighting poverty, without solving the problem of illicit arms trafficking.
"I am not saying this to antagonize anyone. This is the truth," he said
in an interview at the conference hall. The money could have been better
spent, he said. "Our country has seen a continuous erosion of its much
vaunted health care system, a dramatic lowering of school standards ...
and our once-proud military has been reduced to an international joke,"
he told delegates. "Canadians do not applaud the spending of $1.25-billion
of our taxes on feel-good legislation designed to vindicate the international
aspirations of our current government." (Canadians
have lost much more than they would ever hope to gain from this farce.
Can you imagine how many lives saved, and how much suffering 'could' have
been avoided if this billion and a quarter dollars had bought, installed,
and staffed 230-250 hospital based MRI machines ? This would have 'tripled'
the number of these lifesaving diagnostic tools in Canada, and reduced
the current 3 'month' waiting period for a scan, to mere days.. Do you
'really' think the gun registry is of comparable, or better value? I doubt
it, considering that it exists simply to support the lies and ideals of
a Liberal Government that is trying so very hard to empress the misguided
efforts of the United Nations. And, perhaps secure a future post for the
likes of Jean Chrétien!)
Kirkland
Lake Council Votes NO to Firearms Registry
Kirkland Lake council met last night with the topics of the skateboard
park, the long guns registry, mobile multi-use live fire-training unit
for Northern College and a tax exemption for the Legion. Council
voted unanimously for the federal government to abolish the federal gun
registry on long guns, as it is felt by members of council that Bill C-68
was a very bad decision on behalf of the federal government, as if it continues,
it will end up costing Ontario Taxpayers $2 billion. The Town of Kirkland
Lake is calling upon parliament to retain the licensing component of Bill
C-65, to strengthen the sentencing and penalties associated with the use
of firearms in the commission of a crime, abolish the unworkable national
firearms registry for long guns and redirect the tax dollars being spent
on the registry to programs in support of municipal infrastructure, health
care, education and local law enforcement. (Kirkland
lake may be a small town compared to Ottawa, but they certainly have more
'smarts')
Gun
Culture In Some European Countries Rivals That of U.S.
London (CNSNews.com) - Despite the popular view of Europe as a bastion
of tight gun control laws, a study due to be released next week says firearm
ownership is widespread and that some European countries have developed
a gun culture rivalling that of the United States. European Union residents
own a total of 67 million registered guns, but the real total is probably
much higher, according to this year's Small Arms Survey. Ownership is most
prevalent in Finland, France and Germany. "Contrary to widely accepted
national myths, public gun ownership is commonplace," researchers wrote.
"It may appear to some outside observers -- especially Americans -- that
Europeans have blindly surrendered their gun rights." "The reality is that
the citizens of most European countries are better armed than they realize,"
the report said.(Politicians that tell us Gun Control
Works, Gun Registration is Effective, are simply whistling in the graveyard.
There is not one single country in the entire world, where gun registration
has resulted in reduced crime. Registering cars, dogs, snowmobiles, and
personal watercraft, do not make them safer. It only makes them taxable,
and confiscatable. Why would registering firearms make them safer? The
owner of those firearms has already been deemed safe by the government
because you can't register a firearm until you have a licence issued by
the government. This is about as logical as finding it surprising
that criminals 'always' go after the unarmed 'first'.. Real research, (as
opposed to cold call telephone polls favoured by the Liberals) tell us
there are vastly more firearms 'outside' the useless registry than inside.
However, out of embarrassment over the predicted very low 'real' compliance
rate, the Liberals treat these firearms as 'vapour arms'. For obvious political
reasons, it's better if they don't exist, so ignoring them is the politically
correct thing to do. Actually registering them, won't make them any safer
and they know it!)
Drivers
blamed as theft from cars rises
Theft of items from parked cars is way up in the city this year,
and the police say it is the fault of the victims. So far this year, 7,525
items like laptop computers, cell phones and purses have been reported
stolen from cars. That represents an increase of almost 20 per cent from
the corresponding period last year. "This phenomenon is particularly due
to the fact that motorists are leaving objects in view of thieves. Often
the doors aren't even locked or, if they are, the thieves smash the window,"
said commander Pierre Paré, head of investigations at the police
operations centre on Guy St. " It's a big problem right now."Paré
insisted, it is common sense measures - like stowing valuables in a trunk
and locking car doors - that will stop the growing problem.(Oh
I see, if you inadvertently leave something in your car and forget to lock
the door, and some low life thief steals it, it's 'YOUR' fault? What the
hell kind of 'liberal speak' is this crap. If your a 'victim' it's YOUR
fault? And I suppose if a woman in a miniskirt is raped, it's her fault
because "The bitch was asking for it"? If someone breaks into my home and
robs me, it's MY FAULT for having possessions? Perhaps if people like commander
Pierre Paré, head of investigations at the police operations centre
on Guy St. and all the judges in our revolving door legal system were doing
their jobs, they wouldn't have to blame the victim. And if their excuse
is not enough money, Canadian taxpayers have just watched the police associations
support the HUGE waste of a gun registry that only tracks and harasses
the law abiding. Why not track and harass the criminal for a change? Or
is it because the Liberal Government values THEIR rights more the the rights
of honest citizens.)
Aussies
amongst most heavily armed
AUSTRALIANS rank among the world's most heavily armed citizens
despite the Federal Government's efforts to tighten gun laws. There are
an estimated 2.1 million private firearms in Australia, according to the
Small Arms Survey 2003 by the Graduate Institute for International Studies
in Geneva. Gun ownership in Australia surpasses the global ratio by more
than 50 per cent with roughly one gun for every nine people, according
to the study released overnight at a UN conference. And from 1999 to 2002
the number of robberies involving firearms in Sydney's most populated areas
rose by 34 per cent, while handgun homicide has grown from 13 to 50 per
cent since Martin Bryant killed 35 people at the Port Arthur tourist site
in Tasmania in April 1996.(Well ! This calls for
even 'more' useless laws doesn't it! Australia, is just the latest
country to prove that reoccurring fact, every time you introduce a gun
ban, only the law abiding give up their guns, and gun crimes soar! Why?
Simple! Unarmed citizens make the very best victims. )

The National Association of Professional Police (NAPP) was
initiated in 1998 as a voice that would represent the interests of officers
and civilians across our great Country. The founding organizations included
the Ontario Provincial Police Association, members of the RCMP's association,
the Association des Policiers Provinciaux du Quebec, and the Niagara Region
Police Association. Since the beginning other associations have joined
from Calgary, Halifax, Toronto and Vancouver. NAPP has recently begun a
nation-wide public awareness campaign to generate grassroots support for
an initiative that will profoundly affect the safety of all Canadians,
and of the police officers members of the many associations that constitute
NAPP.(Hmmm. The C.P.A. are just lobbyists, and mouthpieces
for the Liberal Government! We all know they are not stupid, and truly
see the gun registry for the sham it really is, but will this group 'also'
'kiss ass' the Liberals for whatever reason, and support this farce? Only
time and Honesty will tell!.. By the way, they have a section where you
can leave your comments. It's 'moderated' so we'll see just how well their
'willing' to listen! NOTE (July 12/03) I left

system still says "No Records" Do YOU think their listening? I doubt it!)
Nearly
one gun for every American, but Europeans also heavily armed
UNITED NATIONS (AP) - The United States has
by far the largest number of publicly owned firearms in the world and is
approaching the point where there is one gun for every American, according
to the Small Arms Survey 2003 released Tuesday. But in surprise findings,
the UN survey found that Europeans are more heavily armed than commonly
believed, while there are far fewer small arms in Afghanistan and sub-Saharan
Africa than previously estimated.(The liberals
won't admit it, but genuine 'real' research says there are 17-21 million
guns in 'this' country. That's one gun for every 1.5 - 3 Canadians, and
'that's' only the guns that are here legally! No one has 'any' idea of
the number of smuggled guns, but is probably in the millions. The vast
majority of firearms are in the hands of ordinary hunters, collectors,
and target shooters. This vast majority of firearms will never
be a problem to society, except in the little minds of the paranoids, and
control freaks)

the "Culture of Safety" Continues
The 28-year-old Nationex delivery man was shot in the back when
he intervened during a mid-morning armed robbery at a Ste. Catherine St.
W. foreign exchange office. As he arrived, he saw two robbers trying to
rip a bag of cash out of the hands of the woman, kicking and punching her
outside the échange Net foreign exchange office next door, on Ste.
Catherine near Fort St. Hulbar didn't hesitate before dropping
his delivery parcel and entering the melee. "I didn't see if they had a
gun or if they were trying to rob the woman," a stern-faced Hulbar told
The Gazette last night in an interview at his company's office in St. Hubert.
"My mind was thinking: 'I must help this woman.' " The woman and her son,
who is in his mid-20s and was working inside the exchange when his mother
was assaulted, were fighting back when Hulbar got involved. Hulbar said
he went after the robber who had taken the bag. When he grabbed for it,
he felt a sharp pain below his right shoulder blade. One of the robbers
had shot him, the bullet piercing his flesh but miraculously not hitting
any internal organs and exiting through his right shoulder.(This

but call 911 and standby as the woman was beaten and possible killed. Had
he been armed, NO ONE but the criminal would have been injured, and there
is a 99% chance even the criminal would have turned and ran when confronted
by a 'armed' citizen. It may be distasteful for some, but thousands of
lives are saved every year in the U.S. by Law Abiding persons who have
conceal carry permits. Far more lives are saved every year by firearms,
than are taken in either country. Gun control zealots, who think they would
be safer 'without' law abiding armed citizens in their community fail to
consider this simple fact, because it interferes with their dogma that
its the 'guns' that are the problem, and not the criminals.)
Judge
extends Inuit gun law exemption
IQALUIT, Nunavut - Inuit in Nunavut
are still protected, at least temporarily, from prosecution under the federal
gun registry as the result of a ruling by Judge Robert Kilpatrick Tuesday.
It extends an injunction that protects Inuit from prosecution until another
case goes to court. Nunavut Tunngavik is suing for full exemption from
the law. It says the registry infringes on Inuit rights granted under the
Nunavut Land Claims Agreement.
In his ruling, Judge Kilpatrick says forcing
Inuit to register their guns would interfere with Inuit harvesting and
could impact on their quality of life. He says it "may cause long term
damage to a defining or core social value of Inuit society." The judge
also rejected a request by Ottawa to have Nunavut Tunngavik's main lawsuit
dismissed. (It sure doesn't look as if the
feds are going to win this one! Once the S.C.C. rules the gun law does
not apply to the Inuit, we will then have a 'race' based law, with no chance
of survival. Giving guns to the Natives 'could' be the wisest choice our
forefathers have ever made!)
And
the "Quest for Arrest" Continues
Approximately ten protesters appeared
in front of the legislature with affadavits saying they had unregistered
firearms. They asked to speak with the Premier who was not there at the
time. The Premier's office sent a representative who met with the protesters,
but no arrests were made. Similar protests in British Columbia and Alberta
did not result in charges either, but the gun protesters say they'll visit
every provincial capital in an attempt to get their cause heard by a judge.(Trying
to get arrested for breaking the firearms law, seems to be a futile effort!
The Government has passed a law, that it does not have the guts to enforce,
because it knows the law is wrong, and has been told as much by all but
two provinces in the entire country! The liberals passed this stupid act
to kiss ass the United Nations, and won't repeal it because it will not
admit that the law is wrong, and unenforceable. The very 'last' thing the
government wants, is a Supreme Court Challenge because it KNOWS it will
loose. This is a perfect example of uncontrolled politicians passing laws
based on politics, political correctness, and the vocal pressure of special
interest groups with 'other' agendas. No, these guys will NOT get arrested.
They are not carrying firearms, and can 'only' be charged under the incredibly
flawed firearms act. If by some fluke they 'do' get arrested, it
will only serve to shine a very bright light into the warped corners of
this tangled web of laws and regulations, thereby exposing the utter incompetence
of the government for pursuing this farce in the first place. )
Liberal
Bureaucrats 'Raid' the Treasury to Give Each Other Raises
"It is clear that these so-called 'performance bonuses' are nothing
but an excuse for public service executives to give each other raises,"
says Williams. "When 96 per cent of all executives are getting the raises,
you have to wonder how bad of a job one has to do not to get the raise."
Williams notes that bonuses were awarded to all 11 judges at the Immigration
and Refugee Board, even though some judges are under investigation for
bribery. "When the Immigration and Refugee Board has people under investigation
for alleged bribery, why is everybody getting a raise?" he wonders. Other
recent federal government scandals that have cost taxpayers billions of
dollars include mismanagement of the gun registry program and bureaucrat
bungling at Human Resources Canada, where 296 of 305 executives received
performance pay. "Usually this kind of behaviour gets you fired in the
real world, not a bonus," Williams says.(With all
the waste at the gun registry, it makes you wonder just how stupid the
9 bureaucrats that 'didn't' get raises are? How stupid do you have to be,
to be one of the 'lonely' 4% that will miss out on the annual trip to the
trough. Call me a cynic, but I'm pretty sure there is a bigger percentage
of Liberal bureaucratic incompetence than 4%! Obviously ANOTHER incredibly
underestimated liberal accounting. A "Proof
IS a Proof" ain't it Jean? But hey, as they say: Just ignore the uncontrolled
criminals running around with smuggled handguns. Just ignore the HUGE increase
in urban drug trade shootings. Going after, and controlling law abiding
hunters and target shooters is the important thing here, "It's for the
children", "We're creating a 'culture of safety'", "What's a Billion dollars
if it only saves one life", ..etc..etc..etc..)
Also,
The 'Main' Reason The Gun Registry Bureaucracy Exists
According to David Miller, an assistant CCRA
commissioner, "the [auditors'] offices were looking at this as a great
way to get additional resources." That is, by inflating the size of the
non-compliance problem, the auditors could make a clear-cut case for an
increase in their budget and staffing complement. In an ideal world, each
of our politicians and bureaucrats would be a selfless servant to that
worthy abstraction, "the public interest." But the principles of organizational
behavior, with all the various modes of self-interested chicanery they
imply, apply as much to public bureaucrats as to the rest of us: The desire
for a greater fiefdom and budget is apparently a universal constant of
managers worldwide.(Un elected bureaucrats
lie, simply to increase their local power, and domain. AND, the politicians
we elect seem to be stupid enough to believe them. Ministers then
waste billions without proper investigations. Remember, 'bureaucrats',
after seeing the government kiss ass the United Nations over small arms
control. They grasped the golden ring of opportunity and told the politicians
that 'they' were "world class experts", and could eliminate gun crime for
only 2 million dollars. They of course knowing full well their fiefdoms
would increase by a hundred fold. In Canada, un-elected bureaucrats run
this country, by lying to incredibly gullible elected politicians. The
problem is, Canadians keep electing these incredibly gullible politicians)
A
creeping 'ethical malaise'
Parliament must hold bureaucrats to account before it's too late,
MPs say
Public servants tossed out their old values for private sector values.
Citizens became clients; rules were loosened; hiring practices relaxed;
managers were empowered and oversight was reduced, "I hate to say I told
you so, but these are the dangers of importing private sector values into
government. You remove the rules, red tape and due process and tell them
to treat citizens like clients then there's a price to pay and we're seeing
the evidence of that now ... So am I surprised by what's happening? No
not at all," Mr. Savoie said.(I'm no Goddamn "Client"
of the Federal Government. I'm a TAXPAYER and demand to be treated as one.
A "Client" is defined as "One who engages the services of any professional
adviser; loosely, a customer or patron" {Look THAT up in your Funk &
Wagnalls} I am neither a "customer" OR "Patron" of the Liberal government.
'I AM A TAXPAYER' and WILL not be treated as a "Client" of ANY department
of the government, unless I am WILLING to use their 'services' and NOT
COMMANDED by the constitutionally challenged laws decreed by the
dictator in charge! Being a "CLIENT", denotes a mutual, consent to supply
a service for a fee. If the service is 'substandard', as a "CLIENT"
I have the choice of not using that service. If the government is so quick
to adapt private industry rules, what happened to the one where you get
your ass fired for lying to management about the 'worthiness' of your project,
to be implemented at a reasonable low cost, and then hide the real numbers
as it goes 500 times over budget, and can't even be properly audited because
the whole department is a shambles? I think the several Million firearms
owners who are now criminals, have a right to decline your "Service" and
have no desire to be a "Client" of such a disorganized, dysfunctional,
ethically challenged, dis-organization. )
Liberal
Waste Rewarded As Usual
Ninety-six per cent of senior federal bureaucrats
get bonuses
Williams has long argued bonuses should only
be used judiciously as rewards for the star performers and not doled out
to everyone. He said the latest payouts are all the more galling on the
heels of a string of high-profile controversies. "When 96 per cent of all
executives are getting the raises, you have to wonder how bad of a job
one has to do not to get the raise," he said in a release. "I mean, 96
per cent of bureaucrats at the Department of Justice, who saw the gun registry
grow from $2 million to over $1 billion, got bonuses for performance? That's
outrageous." (Remember, they are rewarded
with 'tax dollars' and as every good Liberal knows, 'tax dollars' are not
real 'dollars' after they leave the hand of the taxpayer. They are now,
rewardable 'funding units'. These 'funding units' exist to support the
party line, give freely to friends, relatives, and political supporters,
and to use against any organization that would defy the Liberal Agenda,
hidden or otherwise.)
200,000
more lawbreakers here
The deadline for registering guns has passed, but the government
doesn't seem concerned
Is it possible that these officials believe that those who have
registered their weapons were the most dangerous or irresponsible gun-owners
in the country, and that those who have defied the law are otherwise law-abiding
citizens who are a threat to nobody? The feds are looking pretty foolish.
Even if unregistered weapons are found by police in this province, Crown
attorneys won't prosecute them. Nova Scotia, Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan
and Manitoba authorities have also announced they won't prosecute offenders
of the gun registry law.(The Liberals are discovering
that they really stepped in a big pile, and are desperately trying to save
face.. It ain't gonna happen! They have created a whole new class of criminal
in Canada. Lifetime law-abiding citizens, guilty of owning property they
and their families may have owned unfettered for generations. Now, they
must have a piece of paper which contains virtually no useful information
whatsoever, and keep this 'piece of paper' with the property or face upto
5 years in prison. This has cost all canadians 1 billion dollars to date.
We have lost a billion dollars worth of lifesaving medical equipment, a
billion dollars worth of 'real' crime control and/or border protection,
all to protect the people of large cities from duck hunters.)
Saini's
defence
(See link on story below as well)
In recent years, it has become increasingly
evident that legislators, judges, bureaucrats, prosecutors and police brass
are more eager to punish law-abiding citizens who defend their own property
against robbers than they are to prosecute the robbers themselves. A Montreal
convenience store owner who used a baseball bat to deter a tire-iron- wielding
robber a week ago has become a victim of this maddening trend. But the
thieves were armed -- both of them -- and they were after Messrs. Saini
and Valcha's livelihoods, not just a pack of cigarettes. One or two more
robberies of the magnitude the new store owners suffered in their first
19 days in business and they might well have lost their investment and
their dream. Prior to this current, emasculated generation, police, editorialists,
politicians and prosecutors would have instinctively understood that using
a baseball bat to defend against armed thieves easily met the Criminal
Code's test that self-defensive force must be proportionate to the threat
of bodily harm or property loss presented. Until relatively recently, it
was understood that the justice system is merely a collectivized deputy
or surrogate for every individual's ultimate right to defend himself against
criminals.(The courts 'should' be quick to
put a stop to this type of charge. Self defence is STILL allowed in this
country, and I fear the day when the right to defend yourself, is no longer
allowed (two or three more Liberal Governments is all it will take!) If
you are found innocent, then the charge was unjustified, and there should
be public financial restitution for the 'politically' victimized victim.
And, in extreme cases, the right to sue the authorities responsible for
allowing indiscriminate charges to proceed.)
Shopkeeper
charged after rough justice
Burglary suspect decked with bat. St. Hubert dépanneur robbed
three times since new owners took over in June
Saini and Bassi, who were in the storage room, surprised the thieves.
One, armed with a knife, was scared away by Bassi. Saini said the other
thief took a swipe at him with the crowbar. Saini, armed with an aluminum
baseball bat, swung back. The 45-year-old suspect suffered head, neck and
leg injuries, but was well enough to be arraigned Monday on multiple charges
including breaking and entering, parole violation, receiving stolen goods
and possession of burglary tools. "I didn't have any choice but to hit
him - he had a metal bar and they would have killed me," Saini said. "I
don't understand why they arrested me, because I was only trying to protect
myself."(Trial by jury is all this man needs, because
it was 'clearly' self defence. But unfortunately, some over zealous cop,
wanting to pad his arrest record is going to cost this poor fellow 'additional'
thousands in legal fees. The thieves have made him a victim, now the Quebec
legal system will victimize him again. You also can't help but notice that
the thieves were not charged with assault, I presume they were only defending
themselves! I wonder if the shopkeeper would have avoided these charges,
if only he had been able to explain himself to the arresting cop, 'in french')
Gun
registry survives late rush(?)
Despite the crush, the Canadian Firearms Centre central computer
system did not fail as registry opponents were claiming the day after the
deadline expired, Mr. Easter said yesterday. As of June 30, when the grace
period passed, 6.4 million firearms had been registered, he said in an
interview. Combined with a total of 613,000 guns that have been exported,
destroyed or deactivated, the figures mean the government is close to accounting
for nearly all of the estimated 7.9 million firearms in Canada. Canadian
Alliance MP Garry Breitkreuz mounted a fresh offensive against the registry
yesterday, releasing a letter that the Ontario Federation of Anglers and
Hunters sent to Mr. Easter criticizing an advisory committee that the solicitor
general recently announced for the program. The federation accused Mr.
Easter of stacking the committee with "academics, experts in the field
of domestic violence, advocates of tough gun laws, and ardent supporters
of the national firearms system."(Gee!! Only 14 or
fifteen Million Guns, and 4 or five million owners to go.. Oh ya and a
couple more BILLION dollars as well.. But hey! The Liberals 'know' it's
not 'real' money, it only tax dollars and once it leaves the taxpayers
hands, it ceases to be 'real' money to the Liberals, and they dispose of
it accordingly)
A
tradition becomes a crime
Federal gun registry passes another milestone, making criminals
out of 300,000 people
Now, the federal government would have you believe these “scofflaw”
gun owners are the root cause of firearm-related offences in this country.
Old Uncle Al, who likes to go after the odd deer every couple of years
but never bothered to register the rifle he’s used since 1965? A criminal.
Your friend Pete, who keeps his grandfather’s old shotgun mounted above
the fireplace in his rec room? A criminal. The real criminals, meanwhile,
continue to operate in the shadows, slipping right under the Canadian Firearm
Centre’s radar and right past the rules and regulations of the controversial
gun registry. They’re the gang members, the drug dealers, the burglars,
bikers and hoodlums who walk around with handguns and other illegal weapons
that will never be registered, never be licensed. If someone in your neighbourhood
is shot and killed this year, the odds are it will not be with Uncle Al’s
deer rifle. There’s a huge difference between the real criminals and these
new “criminals” the federal government is talking about. One learned how
to operate a firearm at his father’s knee, taking up a time-honoured Canadian
tradition. He took hunter safety courses, takes care of his weapons and
stores them safely. He uses them only in the pursuit of game. The other
learned about weapons in a back alley, or a cramped basement apartment.
He bought his weapon from another criminal, or stole it. He’s never taken
a firearms safety course because he just doesn’t care about safety. His
weapon is dirty, unreliable and kept in a glove compartment or jacket pocket.
He uses it to intimidate, wound and kill. Who scares you most?(People
should also understand that 300,000 is a 'minimum' number based on the
number of guns discovered by the famous Liberal phone poll that asked the
naive question "do you have guns in your house?". The REAL number of new
criminals is in the MILLIONS. When you consider the REAL figures from import/
export/ destruction and manufacturing records for the last 3 decades, say
between 17 and 21 million firearms are in the country. Then, divided by
the universally accepted average of 3 firearms per owner, there are 6 or
7 MILLION firearm owners. With only a total of 6-7 million firearms
currently in the registry, there are 10 - 14 MILLION firearms, and
their 3.3 to 4.6 MILLION owners refusing, or unable to comply. Considering
all the problems the government has had just trying to register the firearms
it 'says' are out there, if the 'real' numbers ever tried to comply the
entire system would freeze, malfunction, or keep crashing for years...
Back to the question: "Who scares me most?" That would have to be the Canadian
Liberal Government, and their lack of foresight, thought and intelligence
for thinking that the majority of Canadian people would simply roll over
and believe that this absurd, astronomically expensive, and possibly constitutionally
illegal, firearms act is having any effect on criminals and their weapons,
thereby making 'you' safer.)
Nault's
bill promotion goes too far
WINNIPEG - The minister of Indian Affairs is facing allegations
his department has gone to extraordinary lengths to win support for the
long-promised bill to change the Indian Act. New Democrat MP Pat
Martin, also at the demonstration, calls it an "intrusion" and "an offensive
practice." He says the government has gone to unreasonable lengths to promote
the legislation, including giving a new women's group that supports the
bill $1 million in funding. The money was originally intended to go to
a different native women's group. Martin says that is no coincidence. The
NDP says it has obtained a note from Nault to cabinet that says: "The Native
Women's Association of Canada opposed the initiative; as a result the National
Aboriginal Women's Association was formed…" to take part in the bill's
consultation process. Adrienne Batra, with the Canadian Taxpayers Federation,
says it's "typical" of the federal government to reward those who support
their policies. (This is NOT Democracy! This a a
corrupt government again, using taxpayers money to buy support from special
interest groups. This is no different than the hundreds of thousands of
dollars given to the coalition for gun control, because they support 'that'
wasteful government policy. There unfortunately is no record of what, or
how much, the Liberals gave the Canadian Police Association to ignore it's
members and support the gun farce as well!)
And
the "Culture of Safety Continues"
OSHAWA - The attendant of a gas station at Bloor and
Simcoe streets was held at gunpoint early Monday morning. Durham Regional
Police say a lone man, whose face was covered with a bandana, pointed a
handgun at an employee at Ultramar at 1:20 a.m. The suspect requested money
from the attendant, but was denied, driving away in a vehicle, say police.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Durham Regional
Police, 905-579-1520. (Why did this robbery happen?
It happened because the criminal knew that the victim would be unarmed
and defensless. Thankfully, the criminal did not want to become a murderer,
so he ran off. This potential victim was very very lucky. The 'next' unarmed
victim may not be.)

Subject: Gun Registry
Sir: I have been keeping you up to date with my nightmare of
registering my
firearms. I would like to let you know the latest. My name is _________
__________, of __________, Ontario. Due to my profession (Police
Officer) I
registered all of my firearms just before the December 31 deadline.
I
received letters of confirmation saying that I did not have to do
anything
else. I received most of the certificates immediately with one coming
in
late May. On two different occasions I called the CFC inquiring
about my
last registration certificate. On both occasions I was simply told
that "we
have until the end of June to get those to you and we will have
them out by
then" and was told not to worry. Well, here it is July 2nd, and
yep, you
guessed it I am a criminal. I called the CFC today and spoke to
one of the
employees. I asked to get her information such as her name and birthday
so
that she could be charged as being an accomplice since they have
assisted in
my becoming a criminal. After a moment of silence she informed me
that she
would not do this and that "just because I had not gotten the certificate
does not mean I am a criminal". I asked her how she came up with
that
brilliant idea since I did not have in my possession a certificate
for the
particular firearm and since no further extension had been granted
by
Cauchon or Easter. She said that if I was stopped by the police
that I could
simply explain it to them that I had applied but had not yet received
my
certificate. I explained to her that she was almost counselling
me in
committing an offence and that the only reason that I was not worried
about
charges is the fact that Ontario policemen will not be enforcing
this
legislation. She informed me that the police WOULD be enforcing
this in
Ontario. She seemed disappointed when I told her to check the caller
ID on
her phone as I was calling from work from a Police Station. Again
there was
silence on the phone for a while. To finish this, these idiots
have made
me, a police officer of _ _ years and the ________ of the Police
Pistol
team, a criminal due to their incompetence.
(This 'stupid' Liberal Law, has created a
un-ending supply of criminals, that consists of: Doctors, Lawyers, Police
Officers, Customs Agents, Firemen, Factory workers, Office workers, Butchers,
Bakers and Candlestick Makers. No trade, class, race or religion
has been left untouched. It's the Canadian official multi-billion dollar,
'stupid law' for the masses. A law that discriminates against 'some' people,
and is not applied, or unevenly applied to others. A law that says you
must
incriminate yourself, and restrict your rights to free movement, association,
property ownership, and privacy. A law that will also put thousands of
guns on the street, due to people not wanting to incriminate themselves
by reporting a stolen firearm that had been forgotten, or was not, or unable
to be registered because of government incompetence. Now, simply because
of this huge, incompetent, incredibly expensive bureaucracy, the
words "GUNLAW" will now be the official Acronym to identify a
'Generally Useless Naive Liberal Ass Wipe'.. It should fit right in
with all the other accepted, and used acronyms that refer to this boondoggle,
such as SNAFU and FUBAR. (most Liberals were 'never' in the military,
and have no idea what these really mean!) |
Coalition
for Gun Control declares victory 90% of gun owners complying with Firearms
Act.
Isn't this amazing! Wendy's Weirdos posted
this "Victory" notice on the Canadian News Wire Service and NOT ONE
newspaper picked it up. EVERYONE IGNORED IT!! It would certainly
look as if the media now, do not consider the waste of a billion and a
half dollars diverted from healthcare and policing, and the creation of
hundreds of thousands of new criminals out of otherwise law abiding hunters,
farmers and target shooters, to be a "Victory" of any kind for Canadians.
Particularly when they KNOW all the figures used in government calculations
are absurdly under estimated. With of course, the 90% figure being absurdly
over estimated.
This 'is' a "Victory" for the Canadian Taxpayer.
The
media finally understands!)
Gun
owner aims for showdown with Ottawa on registry
Truro - Nova Scotia gun owner Al Muir has embarked on a cross-Canada
protest, daring police and the federal government to charge him with not
registering his firearms. "I've been trying to get arrested for more than
two years," the New Glasgow resident said Tuesday in a telephone interview
from Victoria, B.C. "I'm trying to get this matter into court and get it
settled once and for all." Mr. Muir flaunts his refusal to register his
six long guns, viewing the national registry as a waste of taxpayers' money
and a red-tape burden to farmers, hunters and recreational shooters who
own rifles and shotguns. "If the law is worth having, then it's worth enforcing,"
he said. (The sooner this gets to court the better,
and this worries the feds. The firearms act will 'never' pass the smell
test of the Supreme Court. Too many of your basic rights and freedoms have
being violated by this shameful Liberal act. If they can remove your constitutional
rights because you own a firearm, then they can remove the same constitutional
rights for any reason whatsoever, and the precedent will have been set.
Even if you don't own a gun, the simple anonymous finger pointing accusation
of a neighbourhood troublemaker, 'can' result in your home being surrounded
and invaded by police. Or worse, an invasion by what's turning out to be
a Liberal Goon Squad called NWEST. They 'still' seem to be hiding what
really happened when the elderly homeowner died during one of their 'kick
the door down' invasions in B.C. Just the fact that the 'Federal' Police
can do this, should be enough to scare the shit out of 'anyone', firearm
owner or not! No other government in the entire history of our country
has violated as many basic rights of it citizens or diverted as much funding
as this despicable Liberal Dictatorship.)
Most
gun owners hardly criminal
Thousands of Canadians celebrated Canada Day knowing they were in
direct violation of Canada’s gun law. An estimated 300,000 people failed
to register their firearms with the Canadian Firearms Centre by Monday’s
midnight deadline, and now could face a fine or jail time if caught by
police with an unregistered weapon. Are these people criminals? Hardly.
Many haven’t registered their weapon because they believe the government
has no right to ask them to and they’ve chosen to make a statement through
their defiance. Many more have demanded the government scrap the program
altogether. Even more problematic for Ottawa is the reality that a number
of provinces are unwilling to prosecute anyone who violates the gun law
simply because they possess an unregistered firearm. That may be one reason
why the federal government is not in a hurry to track down and charge people
for not registering their firearms. Instead, they’re asking people to register
their firearms in the next few weeks. But, really, where could they even
begin to look? (Easter has said that you could be
arrested if the police find a firearm while investigating a B&E or
other crime committed against you or your property. Now, because of that
incredibly stupid statement, criminals will be looking for homes that 'may'
have unregistered firearms, such as seniors and elderly women that live
alone, and who may have forgotten firearms in attics and basement
that had belonged to long dead relatives. If 'you' have a unregistered
firearm, and someone steals it, will you call the police and tell them?
I doubt it. After all, someone that does that would be lumped into the
same stupid group as the pot head that calls the police to tell them about
someone that ripped off his two best plants. How many people will be dumb
enough to call the police and report something that they will be arrested
for. The ONLY thing this law in guaranteed to do is put hundred and hundreds
of 'new' stolen guns on the street. It's a stupid, ill conceived law that
will do far more harm than good. )
FBI
took more than four years to report missing guns
The GAO found that - of 1,012 firearms either lost by or stolen
from federal law enforcement officers and agencies between September 1998
and July 2002 - only 188 have been accounted for since the GAO first reported
the firearms missing one year ago this month. Additionally, not all agencies
always report, or report in a timely manner, missing firearms internally
or to the National Crime Information Center, according to the GAO. "The
average time taken to report a firearm lost ranged from the same day by
the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) to 4.3 years by the Federal Bureau of Investigation
(FBI)," the report stated. (Well, it would look as
if the FBI and other branches of the U.S. Government are bigger suppliers
of firearms to the 'underworld' than Bull's Eye Shooter Supply of Tacoma,
Wash., I Wonder if the Brady Bunch will now include 'them' in the pending
lawsuits.. )
The
Sea to Sea Rally successfully visits Victoria and leaves with an "incident
number"
(from the firearms digest)
It is my great pleasure to report that Doctors Hudson and Gingrich,
Al Muir, Jim Turnbull and the rest of the Patriots travelling on the Sea
to Sea Rally, including a contingent of supporters from as far away
as Vancouver and Powell River, who travelled to Victoria, specifically
to lend their support, were successful, (after a hearty lunch of Victoria's
excellent Chinese Food...) in making their point at the British Columbia
Legislative Buildings yesterday. The Victoria Police Force sent out two
of their finest to issue Dr. Hudson with an "incident number" and assure
him they would be doing a follow-up investigation. The affair received
television coverage on CTV which was aired on the National Newscast as
well as repeated on the 24/7 channel. Al Muir was his usual 'telegenic'
cool, collected and articulate self...... Please come out to support these
men, who are doing it for us.....when they arrive in your town or City,
their schedule follows.......(Their doing this for
ALL firearms owners, click the link and see when their going to be in your
area, please come out and support them.)
A
Comparison of two registries M.J.
Ackermann, MD (Mike)
In regards to the recent editorial discussing the Sex Offender Registry
(SR) and the Gun Registry (GR), may I offer the following illuminating
comparison?:(This comparison by Dr. Mike should be
published in evey newspaper in the country)
Suit
Against Gun Maker Allowed on 'Hypothetical Facts'
Capitol Hill (CNSNews.com) - A lawsuit filed against the maker of
the gun allegedly used by the Washington, D.C., sniper suspects is being
allowed to go forward based on "hypothetical facts" presented by lawyers
for the anti-gun Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence, a Pierce County,
Wash., court ruled Friday. A statement by the weapon's manufacturer said:
"The Brady Center's attorneys are very loose with the facts." Superior
Court Judge Frank Cuthbertson determined that Bushmaster Firearms, Inc.,
of Windham, Maine, and Bull's Eye Shooter Supply of Tacoma, Wash., may
be held responsible for the criminal actions of others in the suit filed
by the families of eight murder victims and one survivor.(Unless
they can 'prove' the manufacturer knew of Bulls Eye's sloppy records before
making shipments the Manufacture will have no problems. Using their logic,
the U.S. Government had previously inspected Bulls Eye, and 'they' knew
guns were missing and sloppy records were kept, why aren't the Brady Bunch
suing the U.S. Government too?)
Federal
gun registry swamped as deadline passes
Canadian gun owners hoping to register their firearms have missed
their shot at beating the deadline. Leading up to the midnight deadline
Ottawa's federal registry web site was swamped by last-minute applicants.
Gun owners who waited until just before the Monday midnight deadline were
met with frustrating slow-downs on the federal government's Web site, crushed
by thousands of others trying to snag a last-minute licence. Ottawa had
extended its deadline for registering with the federal database by six
months, after the weight of licence applications caused severe problems
for the federal computer system. At the time, Solicitor General Wayne Easter
conceded some gun owners' names may have been deleted from the system.(Sure,
they know names and firearms information has been lost from the 'system'
but they don't care. They don't care that this law is not just about
guns, and that it tramples an incredible number of RIGHTS granted
to every citizen under the Canadian Constitution. They don't care
because under Canada's defective, outdated, parliamentary system, they
'currently' have the numbers to maintain power at any cost. After
all, where else in the 'free' world could a government get 30 Something
% of the popular vote, and rule the country with a dictatorial majority?
The longer the Liberals can delay someone who actually WANTS to get charged
under this absurd law, the longer they can delay the Supreme Court's inevitable
gutting of this absurd law. The longer thay can violate your rights as
a Canadian citizen. They lied to parliament about the need to get this
law passed, they lied about the cost, they used targeted polls directed
at the 'uninformed' to create a lie about the percentage of Canadians that
support this law, they used unsubstantiated, fictitious information about
how many firearms and owners there are in Canada, They lied and hid costs
to the extent that Auditor General of Canada, could not even complete her
audit of this waste. And they continue to lie about compliance rates. But
it's just the Liberal Government doing what it does best, Lying, maintaining
power at any cost, and further eroding your rights as a citizen of this
country! After all What's a Billion Dollars or Two? They say come on, register
your guns. Even though the deadline has passed, we won't prosecute you.
Bullshit! It's against the law for someone in authority to KNOW
someone has committed a crime, and not report it. IT'S JUST ANOTHER LIBERAL
LIE AND THEY SHOULD NEVER BE TRUSTED! Sarnia-Lambton Liberal MP
Roger Gallaway Said: "In the department of justice, and now the solicitor
general ... there's a pattern of behaviour in everything they have done
to suppress, or to discount or to hide costs," Gallaway said. "What's another
$250 million in all of this fiasco? It's a disgrace.")

Thousands
overwhelm gun registry
OTTAWA—Gun owners who waited until just before last night's midnight
deadline for registering firearms were frustrated as the federal government's
Web site slowed to a crawl under a crush of thousands of last-minute applications.
"If you're trying to get through, you're not going to get through. Their
system is obviously not up to the task," Brett Norton of Burlington said
after spending almost two hours at the computer yesterday. When that effort
failed, he called the Canadian Firearms Centre and said he was told it
would take a month or more to have an application form mailed to him. Norton,
a hunter with nine firearms, decided to fax in a note saying he'd attempted
to register, hoping it would offer some defence for being in breach of
the law today. The autoworker and self-described procrastinator argues
the gun registry will do nothing to deter criminals and decided to wait
as long as possible to register his guns, hoping the government would scrap
its plan.(The Chretian Legacy: The largest number
of law abiding people converted to federal criminals in the history of
the free world. Every liberal vote, strips you of just one more freedom,
for the good of the party.. )
Shop
owner faces assault charge after burglar beaten
MONTREAL - A Montreal-area convenience store owner
who police say defended his business with an aluminum baseball bat, faces
charges of aggravated assault. Police in Longueuil say the store owner,
frustrated at three burglaries in as many weeks, camped out in his store
with a friend and a bat Friday night. At about 3 a.m. Saturday, police
say two men entered the store carrying garbage cans. They apparently planned
to fill them with cigarettes and cash. Surprised by the owner, one of the
burglars ran away. The other ended up in hospital, having been beaten with
blows to the head, chest and legs, said Gaetan Durocher of Longueuil police.
The man is listed in stable condition. (The police
will not come to 'prevent' a crime, and by the time they showed up for
a 911 call the store owner would have found himself 'ripped off' again!
I wonder how many 'other' thieves would target a defended store. Not many
I'll bet. THAT'S the answer to crime, the criminal 'should' be the one
to suffer, not the victim. It's about time that Victims had MORE rights
to defend themselves and their property. Until that happens, crime will
continue to rise, and the Liberals will continue to get the 'prison' vote!)
Gun
registry deadline looms
This headline is really starting to get monotonous
isn't it!
OTTAWA - Canada's gun owners have until midnight Monday to
register their guns or potentially face charges. But Wayne Easter, Canada's
solicitor general, is encouraging gun owners to keep registering even after
the deadline has passed. "We're not intending to go on a witch hunt," he
said. "But if circumstances are such that police officers come across a
weapon or gun that is not registered, then those people are eligible to
be charged." However, no one registering their firearms past the June 30
deadline will be reported to police, he said. Gary Breitkreuz, the Canadian
Alliance party's gun registry critic, said that stance is absurd. "Excusing
people from the Criminal Code of Canada because the minister in his office
said, 'Well, you know, they should do whatever they can, we won't hold
it against them' – I mean that's just unheard of." Breitkreuz wants the
law scrapped, noting it has cost a billion dollars and only has 80 per
cent compliance. Gun control advocate Wendy Cukier said 80 per cent compliance
with any other government program would be seen as a huge success. The
program came under heavy fire in December when the auditor general's report
attacked the way costs had ballooned. Cukier said the auditor-general's
report created something of a crisis for the registry. But things have
turned around and "they're making tremendous progress," she said. Once
the registry exists, it will face another problem: enforcement. At least
six provinces are either considering or have decided to leave enforcement
of gun registration laws up to federal officials. Those provinces are Alberta,
Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia and Ontario.
Some of those provinces also called for the law to be scrapped once the
cost overruns became known. (Tremendous progress
my ass! The figures have been fudged by this lying, deceitful, government
since day One, and this farce has a 35% compliance at best. Now, Newfoundland
is looking at not wasting 'their' taxpayers money charging people for registration
offences for which they have no hope of receiving a conviction. Since the
government admitted loosing 'god knows' how much information in that last
computer crash, courts will simply have no grounds to convict on simple
registration offences. ITS TIME TO DUMP THIS RIDICULOUS LAW, AND SAVE THE
'SECOND' BILLION FROM BEING WASTED TOO!)
REPORT
PROVES GUN REGISTRY PRICE TAG UP AT LEAST ANOTHER QUARTER BILLION
Ottawa – Today, Garry Breitkreuz, Official Opposition Critic for
Firearms and Property Rights, released a preliminary analysis of firearms
compliance costs by the Library of Parliament [See Note #1] that will add
another quarter billion dollars to the gun registry price tag. “The
government has repeatedly refused to provide Parliament with its actual
and projected enforcement costs and compliance costs as recommended in
the Auditor General’s report,” said Breitkreuz. “On March 24th, we
released the Library’s estimate of enforcement costs [See Note #2], and
today we’re releasing its first of many reports estimating compliance costs.
If the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament can produce these estimates
in just a few weeks, why can’t the Liberal government with all their vast
resources?” asked Breitkreuz. “It’s clear from this first report
that firearms licencing compliance costs alone will cost firearm owners
between a quarter and a half-a-billion dollars, and all these licences
have to be renewed every five years,” reported Breitkreuz. And as
the report states, this estimate does not include the licencing fees and
cost of passing the firearms safety course. When the Library finishes
their reports on compliance costs for registering 6 million firearms [See
Note #4], 420,000 firearms transfers [See Note #5], firearms dealer costs,
registration of tens of thousands of guns that American hunters bring into
Canada each year (See Note #6), and the cost to police forces for destroying
tens of thousands of guns, the compliance costs alone will easily exceed
another billion dollars.”(There is absolutely no
end in sight! The Liberals have been spending money like drunken sailors
for the past ten years. Sure, the deficit is under control(?) but even
the 'debt' would be under control if the Liberals were under control.)
