The people of Disks are far-removed descendants of the Rilgue people of
the Celestial Continent. They wear various horns on their heads--some are
real, grown by means of calcium builds on their skulls, and some are merely
jacinth.
The Disks people however, are the only people that have not accepted the
'Impure Toleration.' Even though, by definition they themselves are 'Impure',
they will not accept any other type.
You emerge from the Sotlat Forest, and trudge the dusty path to the kingdom,
only to find the large gates in disrepair, larger stones tumbled off and
only five-foot high base stones left. But no one would want to capture this
kingdom. It's ruined anyway.
Further into the gates there is a split in the road.
The right path leads around the castle to a section of run-down, decrepit
houses. They serve as free homes to many of the kingdoms better theives
and murderers. Mongrel dogs slaver and bark from their tethers, attempting
to lay a paw on a passer-by. The glowering eyes from between the window
slats wouldn't mind too much if the dogs did happen to latch their teeth
onto an intruder's flesh.
The left path--well, it was once a path--leads a long ways into over-growth,
but still within the walls. What lay at the end of the path is the only
remnant of the kingdoms once-regal past. There stands a cathedral. Only,
the windows have been shattered by stray rocks from the children around
here. A boy stares near there, a rock hanging meanacingly from his fist.
The central path leads into the castle--it too is only a vestige of its
former state. Within the courtyard, among the weeds, several drunkards lay
asleep with whores in their arms. In the castle entry hall there are several
tables, a few legs broken off. Rancid meat, barely having looked at an oven
lay on platters, only nasty strips of chicken are strewn about, leftovers
from last evenings fight. Goblets are spilled and line the floor alongside
the louts, passed out from the nights previous. One wakes and reaches an
arm out across the floor to a half-eaten chicken bone, teeth marks on it
and all. He stuffs it in his mouth and you move on.
Further on there is a Court. The doors are closed, and the room beyond is
clean. There is an onyx throne--similar to the one desribed in Greek myth,
belonging to Hades--and various weapons lay concealed beyond the seats of
power. Alters to left, and alters to right, they perpetually burn, prepared
at any of Lillith's whims to fry a body part.
Below the floor where you stand, there are dungeons--level upon level of
them.
It is very easy to become lost, but if you're there, you won't need to worry,
for most likely you'll be tethered similarly to the theives dogs you met
earlier. By chains, by your wrists and ankles. They were constructed by
an excellant Disks Binah, Drear Doomly, commisioned by the Founder of Disks,
Commiduce Torrid, for his wife, Militia II. Drear of course, built an impenetrable
fortress of cells, with no way to get out--to Commiduce's specifications.
Only, Drear was locked in one of his own cells, thanks to Militia's little
fling with him.
This lead to the next aspect of Disks. As you should notice, you can hear
the sounds of the ocean from the castle--this is because it was built on
an outcropping overlooking Gaia Ocean. If you circle around the back of
the castle, there is a little portal-door. Go through it and you are outside
the castle walls, on a cliff. Here there is an alter, constructed by workers
under Queen Militia II after Commiduce refused to set Drear free. She built
the alter and became the first Disks woman to have magical power--only,
of course, with their personalities so very inimical, none of the Disk Queens
to this day have used their power for good.
Lillith's chambers are not to be entered. They have high security at all
times. It is in the last standing tower, to the East.
