Just off of Mearan Beach, the waters of Mear Firth house not just your normal fish and sea-life. It is home to the Lurii Kingdom, the underwater city of the Water Trudgers.

Lurii are aquatic people, and while there do exist Myrr People and your traditional mythological aquatica, Lurii are the species that thrive and are prevalent in the 'Nightmare' Firth.

Lurii are human height and build, save a few exceptions. For one, their hands and feet are webbed and clawed, naturally, since they need to swim and are hunters in their element. They have a collapsable dorsal fin on their backs that is used for stability when swimming, and tendrils of flesh and slight muscle adorn their heads in the place of hair. Their eyes are a bit different too.

Equipped with several sets of eyelids to cover their gray (or occassionally, blue) eyes, one is a completely translucent pair, closest to their eye to keep it moist in the more dry locales. The second set is a fleshy pair, like that of humans which serves as the traditional, and most-used lid. The third is a thick, hardened set, that is more like nail fiber then flesh which protects their heat-sensing eyes from perspective quarry, or competetors during Lock Fights.

Lock Fights are fights between Lurii males over things like food, space, women, property, etc... A Lock Fight is hardly ever to the death, and can be initiated by either party if they feel cheeted out of something. It is cowardly to not accept a proposed Lock Fight. Participants are bedecked in the ancient garb, including natural seaplant cloth and black Crustaecia berries around the ankles. Claws and teeth are allowed, and other weapons may be used if the rules are agreed on ahead of time.

The city of Lurii is a large golden set of spires--not real gold, yellow coral formations. There is the Lock Fight Paddock, Coral Cove, Bubble Tower, and Crinkala's Shrine.

There are of course, various Courts to attend, but they aren't as prestigious as the other rooms.

Lock Fight Paddock is, of course, where the spars are held. There's not much to it really. There is a stadium of seats surrounding the platform for spectators (relatives of those involved, the women they intend to fight for, etc...) with two changing-stalls at either end of the long pitch where the contestants change into their cerimonial clothing.

Coral Cove is a nightclub beneath the waves, West of the actual castle, not wanting to associate with any other pre-established abode. This seedy area is frequented by the trendiest of Lurii and is lit by phosphorescent slugs and shells. Shops hoping to inspire the next fashion or hype encircle the Cove greedily feeding off of the club's customers.

No real light is allowed to enter the stone-enclosed area. Different bands play, whichever is the most popular at the time. The booths are carved into the coral and stone making up the club's walls, and the tables are just pallets of driftwood with fishnets draped over them, nailed to the floor so they won't float away. The bar is well-equipped with heavier drinks that don't tend to escape from their glasses. A few in particular are known for their 'light' attributes, which are used in drinking games, seeing who can catch all of their liquor first.

Bubble Tower is where the treasure of the deep is kept, all of the gold, jewels, natural treasures, etc, in the Mear Firth. The Advisor of Lurii is in charge of keeping it safe, and takes inventory tri-annually in order to keep track of the precious items.

Crinkala's Shrine is the Lurii's physical representation of the Water Father's house. Crinkala was the Lurii devotee who built the shrine, and the name of the actual Water Father has been lost, scraped from the sides of the temples honoring him, and erased from art during the Nautical Revolution long ago.

The Shrine itself is made out of rare opalescent coral and houses various tributes that peasant and royal alike give in honor of the Water Father.
