I made this card for my good friend Tiffany, who also tats. I used
cebelia size 20. The patterns for the motifs can be found in Lindsay
Roger's Tatting Collage. This is the ultimate book for making tatted cards! The grass is a long chain with many various size picots, done haphazzardly. The little bee is actually a variation on her design for a flower bud, which looked like a bee to me! I used black and yellow thread together, which gave it a stripey appearance. For the yellow stinger, I dropped the black thread and only made a picto with the yellow, then picked up the black again and continued with the 2-color tatting. Pretty neat, huh? |

This was made for my parents. We are a dog-loving family, and my dad is a dog show judge, so this was a good design for them. It is a
thank you note for all the tatting shuttles they gave me! The dog was inspired by Lisa Trumble's Bunny. I used her design for the split ring hind leg, and made the rest up from there, loosely following her bunny. Her pattern is a great one to learn split rings with, as you can do it with rings and chains first, and then try it with a split ring! was definitely my inspiration! I started with the chain that makes the tail. The legs have picots for claws. The ears are large picots, like her bunny, but they are glued down to look like they do. I shaped the head to have a nose bridge. The tongue is drawn on in pen. It was done in various colors of size 5 perle coton. |

This is another card that uses Lindsay Roger's designs from Tatting Collage. The great thing about her book is that she presents many
little designs, and you can combine them however you see fit! The tatting was done in various colors of size 5 perle coton. If you would like to sample one of her designs, Go here for a swan pattern |
![]() | This is from a birthday card I made for Tighe's sister. It is the Butterfly Heart by Irene Woo. I chose to do the butterfly in a different color from the heart, so it would stand out more. It is in size 20 DMC Cebelia. I glued the tat to a white card, and then I glued a lavender zircon gem. Isn't it beautiful? The photo does not do it justice, because you can't see the sparkle! The pattern is published in the Tat Chat 99 Online book, which can be obtained from many suppliers as well as through Georgia Seitz, the editor. |
