Fathom  A  measurement of depth traditionally used in a mine and at sea.One fathom is equal to six feet
Feldspar 
(Felspar)
A constituant of Granite.Feldspar is a group of silicate minerals ,that is containing Silicon.The Feldspar forms the opaque white crystals in Granite.
Finger dump  A dump of waste material with a linear form . It has a flat topped to allow the material to be trammed across it with a temporary tramway tracks. Seen from the air these dumps appear like fingers spreading on the downhill side of a shaft.
Flat Rods 
Reciprocating rods used to transmit motion from a steam engine or water wheel to a remote location. The rods were made of  wood or iron and ran on rollers,hung from pivots or rocked on stands. Runs up to a quarter of a mile were  common and water wheels normally had a short run of them to keep the water away from the shaft mouth.
Fly wheel   A wheel attached to a crank driven by a reciprocating engine,used to store energy and provide a smooth transfer of power.They sat in large masonry or granite loadings.
Footway  Ladders used to descend into a mine 
Fork  A  term meaning that a Shaft has been pumped clear of water
