Tailings | An ore processing term.
Tailings are the waste material from the dressing processes which was discharged
into a river or sea.
They consist of sands and slime from stamps and buddles that do not contain any workable quantities of mineral. |

Tailrace | A water power term. A tailrace is a leat or launder which carried water away from a waterwheel.Tailraces sometimes discharge back to a stream and sometimes to a lower waterwheel. | |
Ticketing | A system of selling ores to the smelters. At certain dates the smelters agents sampled the ore parcels and made bids by placing tickets on them. The parcel would go to the smelter with the highest bidding ticket in on the parcel. | |
Tozing | or tossing .An ore processing term. Tozing is a means of separation of ore by violently agitating the slimes in water. The ore settles first leaving the waste on top. | |
Tramway | A transport term.The word
tramway normally refers to a railway constructed to a lighter or more temporary
standard than normal. Tramways are often powered by horses or the
small wagons are pushed by hand.
They are often found in mines connecting the various sites within a sett or linking mines together. |

Trammer | A worker who operated the trams at the mines,normally trammers were teenagers. | |
Trunking | An ore processing term. Trunking is the separation of ore from slimes is a long narrow tank, impurities are washed off after seperation. | |
Trunnion | Engine house term. A trunnion is the shaft supporting the bob near its centre and the ends of the trunnion rested on trunnion bearings |
