Ragging A process in ore dressing. Ragging is the breaking down of large rocks using large hammers. Men undertaking this work were known as Raggers. 
Revetment  A wall or stone facing built to supporting a bank of loose material.earth.Revetments are common in hillside mine locations.   
Rising main  The column of pipes up which water is forced to the surface by pumps. The rising main is usually made of cast iron .
Rotative engine  A beam engine where the motion of the beam is converted to rotary motion by a sweep rod. Whim, stamp and crusher engines are rotative engines.
Round frame A ore processing device, used for very fine material.A round frame is similar to a round buddle but the bowl rotates not the brushes.
