Eldest son is listed as David Barry. Moses and Isabella are listed as Carr

From on Thursday, 22 January, 2009

The Grace Bowden who was my ggg grandmother arrived in Sydney in 1839 along with her father John, mother Elizabeth and seven of her eight siblings aboard the Garrow as you have listed. An older brother David travelled on the same voyage and gave his age as 19 (he was in fact 23). Father John was listed as 45 years of age when in fact he was closer to 55. On the same voyage was the eldest Bowden daughter Isabella travelling with her husband Moses Kerr, three of his children from a previous marriage and their son together, David aged 18 months. The final Bowden daughter Ann (Nancy) emigrated with her husband and four children in 1851.
Grace married James Wharmby in 1844 - the Pioneer Index lists her as Bodden (the family has been referred to elsewhere as Bodden - apparently the Garrow passenger list is hard to read) but she is listed as Bowden in the Index when referred to in her children's births.

Kindest regards, Jenny
