John was sentenced in 1836 in Aberdeen to 14 years imprisonment,
John Hazelwood John married Mary Anne Theresa Carberry on 13 November 1841. Mary Anne had arrived at Port Phillip on the "Sir Charles Forbes" on Jan 1841. Mary Anne's place of birth was Dublin, and she was baptised about 1826. John and Mary Anne spent some years in Victoria and 6 chn born, before moving to New South Wales about 1852 and another 10 chn baptised around Balranald.
John accidentally drowned near Euston on 22 December 1891. His age was given as 72.
In an eerie coincidence, Mary Anne drowned in a separate accident at Balranald on 8 October 1893. Her age was given as 70.
