From The Wilson Family came to Australia from County Tyrone, Ireland in 1841 on the ‘Frankfield’. They lived at Brighton for some time before coming to Berwick. William (circa 1841-1907), and James (1833-1910) began the farming property called ‘Quarry Hills’. Their home remains today and part of the land is now the ‘Wilson Botanic Park’ reserve. They farmed sheep and grew prize-winning wheat, both of which won international acclaim. When the boys married, they split their property. William stayed on at Quarry Hills with his bride Euphemia (nee Brisbane) wed 1859, and James built a new home, ‘Wilson House’ with his wife Anne (nee Lindsay) wed c1858. Their little sister Anne (circa 1842-1909) also married 1859, to a local man and politician James Buchanan.
