This Indenture
made and entered into this 3rd day of May 1857 between David Whitinghill
& margret Whitinghill his wife of the county of Hancock and state of
Ky of the one part and Avery Bratcher of the county of Ohio and State
aforesaid of the other part Witnefseth that for and in consideration of
the Sum of one hundred and twenty five Dollars to us in hand paid the
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold
and by these presents grant bargain sell and convey to him the said
Bratcher a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county
of Ohio & on the waters of Rough Creek nad bounded as follows to wit
Beginning at a white oak & large black Gum thence S 100 ples to a
white oak & Hickory thence E 103 poles to a chesnut Dogwood &
black oak saplings thence N 100 poles to a stone on the side of a rocky
point thence west 105 poles to the beginning containing Sixty five and a
half acres be the Same more or lefs to have and to hold the land
aforesaid or in any wise appertaining unto him the Said Bratcher his
heirs or afsigns forever free from the claims of them the Said
Whitinghill and wife their heirs and afsigns and the Said Whitinghill
and wife doth agree to avassant and forever defend the title of Said
land to Said Bratcher from the Claim or Claims of all and every person
or persons whatsoever In testimony whereof we have hereunto Set

for Said county hereby certify that on this day this deed from David
Whittinghill and Margaret Whittinghill his wife to Avery Bratcher was
produced to me in Said County and duly acknowledged by the Said David
Whittinghill being examined by me privilly and apart from her Said husband
declared that She did freely and willingly sign Seal and deliver Said deed
and wished not to retract it and being again Shown and Explained to her
acknowledged the Same to be her act and deed and consented that the Same
may be recorded all of which is hereby certified to be proper office for
record Given under my hand this 9th day of May A.D. 1851 |
