This
Indenture made and entered into this 6th day of April 1869
between John J Bratcher and Cynthia his wife, Henry Bratcher and Mary
his wife, William e. Bratcher and Nancy J his wife, Enos Bratcher and
Martha E. his wife, John Arnold and Polly Ann his wife, all heirs and
representatives of William Bratcher Jr. of Sr. deceased, Nancy
Keown and Thomas Keown her husband, Margaret Green and James P. Green
her husband, Elizabeth Ann Gillstrap and D. D. Gillstrap her husband
heirs of Sarah Burden deceased, who was also an heir of William Bratcher
Jr. deceased and James W. Craig and Caroline Craig his wife parties of
the first part and Franklin Bratcher of the Second part, all of
Said parties of the State of Kentucky Witnesseth that for and in
consideration of the Sum of Seven hundred and thirty Six dollars, $164.00
of which Sum is cash in hand paid and the balance to be paid to John
Arnold as follows: One note for $36.00 due, One note
for $100. due 1st March 1870. one note for $100. due 1st
March 1871. one for $100. due 1st March 1872. one
for $100. due 1st March 1873. and one note for $136.00
due 1st March 1874 and to Secure the payment of Said Several
notes a lien is hereby retained on the land hereinafter mentioned, The
first parties of have granted, bargained and Sold and by these presents
do grant, bargain, Sell and hereby convey unto the Second party and to
his heirs forever our undivided interest in and to the following
described tract of land lying in the County of Ohio and State of
Kentucky and bounded as follows viz: Beginning on the bank of Caney at
John Fulkersons corner a maple and elm, running thence N 4 1/2 E 380
poles to a Spanish oak and beech Said Fulkersons corner on the original
line of Said Lot No. 11 hencewith a line of the Same N 85 W 22 1/2 poles
to two white oak oaks, thence up hte Same with the Several meanders
thereof to the Beginning, containing 200 acres and being the Same tract
of land conveyed to William Bratcher Jr of Sr. by Edward H. Nock, and
Said Deed is duly recorded in the Ohio County Court Clerks office, Deed
Book 'L' page 176 to which reference may be had for a more particular
description of Said premises. Said land descended to the first
parties herein at the death of Said Wm Bratcher Jr To have and to
hold Said undivided interest unto him the Said Second party his heirs
and assigns forever, the Grantors herein agreeing to forever
warrant and defend the title to the same by covenant of General
Warranty. |

I C. Kelley Clerk of the County Court of Said County do certify that his
Deed from John J. Bratcher & others to Franklin Bratcher this day
before me in Said County acknowledged by James P. Green and Margaret Green
his wife. D. D. Gillstrap and Elizabeth A. Gillstrap his wife
to be their act and deed. Whereupon the Same is hereby certified to
the proper office for record.

Moseby Clerk of the County Court for the County and State aforesaid
certify that the foregoing Deed to Franklin Bratcher was on the 24 day of
April 1869 before James Johnston Deputy Clerk in Ohio County did and
Severally acknowledged by John J Bratcher and Cynthia his wife, Henry
Bratcher and Mary his wife, William E. Bratcher and Nancy J Bratcher, Enos
Bratcher and Martha E. his wife, John M. Arnold and Polly Ann his
wife, and Thos Keown and Nancy his wife, parties hereto, to be their act
and deed. And again on the day of the date hereof the Same was
before me in my office duly and Severally acknowledged by James W. Craig
and Caroline his wife, Also parties thereto to be claim act and
deed. And thereupon Said Deed being duly Stamped as required by an
Act of Congress was this day together with this and the annexed
certificate duly and truly recorded in my Said office. Witness my
hand this 9 day of July 1869. |
