Nancy Bratcher and Simeon Bratcher

| Articles
of agreement made and entered into by and between Nancy Bratcher, widow
of John Bratcher of Garrard County Kentucky of the first part and Simeon
Bratcher of the same County and state of the other part, Witnefseth,
That whereas the said Nancy Bratcher is old and infirm, and desirous to
make some provision for her own maintainance, and renumerate the said
Simeon Bratcher therefore. She holds for life her dower in the
landed estate of said John Bratcher being about 30 acres of land- the
use of which she agrees to give to said Simeon for an indefinite period
for and in consideration that the said Simeon boards, clothes, washes
and furnishes bedding for the said Nancy for the same period and the
said Simeon on his part to permit him to occupy the said 30 acres of
ground, keep the said farm in good repair and work the same in a husband
like manner and that he will furnish her with good wholesome food, water
and sufficient genteel clothing suited to the various seasons and also a
good bed and bedding. The said Nancy reserves the right at any
time by giving one months notice to the said Simeon, to annule this
agreement and take pofsefsion of the aforesaid land and premises, and
Simeon agrees to give peaceable pofsefsion at the day he is notified to
quit. |

I Alex R. McKee Clerk of the County Court for the County aforesaid, do
certify that the within agreement between Nancy Bratcher and Simeon
Bratcher was this day produced to me in my office, and acknowledged by
said Nancy and Simeon Bratcher to be their act and deed. Whereupon
the same, togather with this certificate hath been duly admitted to record
in my office. Given under my hand, this 18th day of may, 1847 |
