Deed

Know all men by these presents That I Thomas Short for the consideration of the sum of Twenty dollars paid to me in hand by John Bratcher of the County of Garrard, state of Kentucky, whereof I do hereby grant sell and Convey all my right title and interest in my mother-in-law Dorithy, in a certain tract of land left to her by her husband, whcih Dowery I do grant sell and convey to the said John Bratcher his heirs or afsigns forever, supposed to be three acres and one third, to be the same more or lefs  To have and to hold the same to him the said John Bratcher his heirs and afsigns, to his or their use forever; that I am lawfully seized, that they are free from all claims incumberances, and that I will warrant and deferred the same to the said John Bratcher his heirs and afsigns - In Witnefs whereof I do set my hand and affix my seal this 31 day o fJanuary 1849

                                                      I Alex R McKee Clerk of the Garrard County Court do certify that the deed from Thomas Short ???? to John Bratcher was produced to this day produced to me and acknowledged by said Thomas Short to be his act and deed  & Elizabeth his wife being examined by me separate and apart from her said husband declared she did freely & willingly seal and deliver said writing and wished not to retract it and acknowledged the same again ??? and explained to her to be her act and deed and concented that the same be Recorded, Whereupon I have admitted, the same to record in my Office   Given under my hand this 1st day of February 1849
