Reviews For Dec. 5- Dec. 14
CRITIQUE OF THE WEEK
I chose this review not just because it was longer, but because it had a thorough explanation of his opinion. He rated it with just three stars because he felt something was left out. He seemed to definitely like Jessica's intent of the story, but he wanted more to be brought out from it. Cassie Hanaway Critique Page Editor

Is Santa Really Santa Clause By Jessica Sayer
Now Jessica, I think you a brain run-a-way. LOL St. Nicholas, Santa Clause, Kris Kringle and all the rest of the names all mean the same thing, just in different languages. St. Nicholas was a Catholic Bishop from around the 8th century. He was actually the Bishop of Milan. The story that was handed down through the Church says he threw gold coins down the chimney of a poor peasant man so he could marry his beloved. This was done around Christmas time so the minds of men did the rest. If Santa Clause is the devil, then it is because we made him that way. My Mother always told me that Santa Clause was any one that loved you. I think that is the best answer. People have taken Christ out of Christmas, not Santa. Your story was pretty well written but it would have been better if the research had been more through. I hate to see Santa take all the blame for what you and I have helped do.

Christmas by Leisha Arnts
I liked your poem! I would have given it a 5, but I didn't feel like you got across to the readers everything you wanted to say. I think you picked a very good subject to write on. Lots of people don't know the true meaning of Christmas, and you are sharing the good true meaning that beats all the Christmas presents in the world!

Illusions
by Brynne Ferguson
Although not knowing whether this was written from real life or not, this could be the story of countless people, trying to get through the holidays after having lost a loved one.

The Coming Collision By Stu Engle
You make some great points - things that I have thought
about too. Our technology can be so wonderful, but also hurtful and scary
too. I wonder how far we will be allowed to go with all of it?
My only salvation is my relationship to God Almighty, who provided us the
minds to probe the unknowns. It becomes our responsibility to use these
great gifts for the good of mankind and not for evil. And sometimes the
line between good and evil is very thin. I enjoy reading your work. It is always thoughtful and
deep.

Maybe By Megan Estey
There is not maybe about it. This is one of the best poems I've read describing the contrast about having a date or not. Good going.

The Cellar By R.L. Walker
I thoroughly enjoy R. l. Walker's poetry. Childhood experiences are captured so vividly ... from the activities of fun to those feelings of fear. At some point, didn't we all fear the "booger man." This poem is wonderful.

The Opposite Of Hopeless By Janelle Zimmerman
The title of this story well confused me til I read the whole story. Your heart will leap out for the main character but by the end you will grin or be total confused. I give this short story, if I had one, an award for sure creaive genius.

Leaving Despair By Cindy Piazza-Ivy
There is a real sense of hope from this poem that I like. I believe it portrays a hopelessness that is real, but the author has not given up on love just because of a bad experience. A really good poem- I really like it.
