The Canadian Police Association only 'SAYS' it Represents Police Officers on the street. Here's what THOSE Officers say about this Gun Registry Farce

N.B. to ignore gun law breaches
CAMP JULIEN, Afghanistan - The aging Iltises, the all-purpose utility vehicles hated by Canadian
troops, are dropping like flies' in the first week of a 12-month
mission in Afghanistan, soldiers say,
breaking down because of their age and the dust and heat of Kabul.
One week into the 12-month mission, seven of the 74 Iltis utility
vehicles shipped from Canada have broken down completely, and Canadian
Forces mechanics are repairing about three of the vehicles a day for
minor and major malfunctions.
"Unfortunately, the Iltis is a bit of an albatross around our
necks," said Major James Matson, of Thornhill, Ont., the logistics
officer for the Canadian brigade.
The 19-year-old Iltises are showing their age in the harsh Afghan
climate, especially in dealing with the clouds of fine, powdery dust
that cover everything in the mountainous city.(Our
Military, or what's left of it, needs equipment and money! So what else
is new. Liberal policy from the Trudeau era on, have put our military
at or near the very bottom of the funding pile. Canadians are sick and
tired of being the military laughing stock of the entire world.
Helicopters that fall out of the sky on a regular basis. Leaky, dented,
second-hand submarines. Forest Camo for desert use. Now, military
vehicles that don't work. All this, while the Liberals spend billions
disarming duck hunters, and law abiding citizens with a plethora of
laws that curb a multitude of rights and freedoms, but do everything
they can to prevent it being tested in court.(See The Cross Country Quest)
Which of course makes it no law at all. Simply a HUGE waste of money
that I'm sure could have removed 'some' of the public embarrassment of
sending our soldiers to do a job with antique, poorly functioning
equipment. What have they accomplished? Well, they seem to have the
vote of Pacifists, Pedophiles, Potheads, Queers, Prisoners, Gun control
weirdoes, and those that put the rights of animals over the rights of
people, all sewed up! What's next? Maybe they should go after the
Murdering Gang Banger vote? There certainly seems to be a sizeable
number of them, now that most of the public that own firearms have them
hidden, and unavailable for defence! )The New Brunswick government is the eighth province to shoot down the idea of prosecuting its citizens over the controversial federal gun registration law. Attorney General Brad Green announced yesterday that provincial prosecutors will turn a blind eye to offences under the Firearms Act or Criminal Code, except in very limited circumstances. "We don’t feel it is an effective use of the time of our Crown prosecutors," Green said yesterday. "It is clear there is a majority of provinces in Canada that feel this has been a failed experiment of the federal government," Lord said. "They should abandon this failed experiment and use the resources to better uses." The decision was announced as the Conservatives wrapped up their three-day caucus retreat in St. Andrews. The beleaguered gun registry program has come under constant fire, culminating with the federal auditor general claiming it has cost taxpayers more than $1 billion. "We don’t want to participate in perpetuating this waste of taxpayer dollars and we will allocate our taxpayer dollars to protecting the law-abiding citizens in the province of New Brunswick," the premier said..(Only P.E.I. and Quebec to go... 8 Provinces, and all the Territories are telling the Liberals to scrap this farce. Are the Liberals listening? Sure they are. Do they care? No! Why should 'they' care what the people think. History has shown, when Liberals have a majority government, 'party' policies and agenda are what counts. Not what the public wants. They just think that 'this' time, they won't get their collective asses kicked out of Ottawa in the next election.) I will on Vacation until September 3rd, please use the links below for current updates. Have a Great Summer Doctors refuse to vet gun licence applicants Thousands of doctors are refusing to fill out medical fitness forms for people trying to get gun licences, fearing they could face violent retribution if unstable patients are denied firearms. The Ontario Medical Association has urged its members to boycott the work until the process is overhauled, in yet another blow to the federal government's beleaguered gun-control system. The association says doctors are being told to, in effect, pass judgment on whether some of their patients should be allowed to have firearms, putting them in an awkward and potentially dangerous position. "A few years back, a physician was asked to fill out a disability form for a patient. That patient then came back to the office and shot him," said Dr. Larry Erlick, the OMA president. "For a physician to say to someone applying for a firearms licence: 'You're too dangerous to have one,' by itself suggests they're dealing with someone who is a bit unstable. And that's our concern." Most Ontario doctors have heeded their association's advice and declined to fill out the forms, Dr. Erlick said.(And I don't blame them one little bit! Regardless of what the weasels at the CFC say, 'their' not the one that could be facing retribution from some nutcase that in all probability already 'has' a gun. After all, this stupid Liberal Firearms Act does nothing to keep anyone from obtaining a firearm through the underground market that was largely created by this Liberal gun farce. There are Millions more guns in Canadian homes, than in the Liberal registry, and Millions more owners than licences. And, it will always be that way! Whether or not, you got one of the old FAC's 'used' to depend upon the 'local' police, and the results of the interviews with the applicant, and ALL his or her references. Now it simply depends on a unknown bureaucrat thousands of miles away.. Does THAT provide an increase in safety as they say, or simply another facet of the Liberal Gun Control law, that is really more about control, than guns?) Dorval airport to be renamed to honour Trudeau NORTH BAY, ONT. - The federal government plans to honour the memory of former prime minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau by renaming Montreal's airport after him. A formal ceremony to officially change the name of Dorval International Airport is expected to take place in September. Transport Minister David Collenette made the announcement at the Liberal caucus retreat on Thursday. He said the name-change has the blessing of Trudeau's family. One person who took offense to the planned name-change is Gilles Rheaume, president of the Mouvement souverainiste du Quebec. "It's like giving Dracula's name to a blood bank," he said. "This is pure provocation on the part of the Chrétien government…it's taking Quebecers for fools." Quebec's Intergovernmental Affairs Minister Benoit Pelletier dismissed Rheaume's reaction saying, "I'm sure Quebecers are mature enough to have one of their institutions named after one of our great leaders even if we did not agree in the past with all of his ideas." (Why not name the airport that HE created in another expensive Liberal folly that went downhill very quickley. Rename Mirabel To Trudeau International? This is the ultimate "Liberal White Elephant Airport" that 'should' be named after the fool that was responsible for it's very existance) Smugglers evade 9/11 border security The bulk of the guns used in crimes committed in Ontario originate in Florida, Ohio, Georgia, Michigan, Texas and California, it says. A third of the guns came from states intersected by Highway I-75, a main thoroughfare used by Canadians travelling south. Illegal handguns are favoured by smugglers because they can be purchased cheaply in the United States and sold at huge profits. Such weapons are used by the criminal underworld to settle disputes and enforce debts, it says. "It is clear that Canadian smuggling organizations no longer limit themselves to single commodities. Most are highly entrepreneurial and sensitive to changing levels of demand, leading them to seek out a range of profit-making ventures." The RCMP says one of its concerns is the import of explosives or materials used to manufacture bombs.(A BILLION Dollars to protect us from 'duck hunters', and the criminalizing of MILLIONS of Canadians, but still using college kids and their summer jobs to work the borders and protect Canada from 'whatever'.. The Liberal defence strategy(oxymoron)? 'look defenceless, don't make eye contact, turn the other cheek, and maybe the bullies of the world will leave us alone'. I got an idea! Ask any kid, in any school yard, if this strategy works? ) No right of self-defense in Blair's barbaric Britain The "Rights of Englishmen" – the inspiration for the American founding fathers – are no longer cool in Cool Britannia. The great system of law the English inherited, including the 1689 English Bill of Rights, which entails the right to possess arms, is in tatters. The sovereign and his elites, most of whom enjoy taxpayer-funded security details, have disarmed law-abiding Britons, who now defend themselves against the protected criminal class at their own peril. A right that can't be defended is a right that exists only in name. In Britain there is, in effect, no right to life or property. In Blair's Britain, proud and self-sufficient people like Martin have been ![]() Troops fed up with 'pieces of junk' "Al-Qaeda Claiming Responsibility for Last Week's Blackout?" According to MEMRI.org, the website that provides translations from the Arab world, al-Qaeda is claiming responsibility for last week’s blackout. While the assertions seem unlikely, they are nonetheless intriguing, considering the fact that the exact cause of the blackout is still unknown. However, it is common knowledge that al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups are willing to take credit for events they have absolutely nothing to do with. If nothing else, it is proof that Islamic terrorists have taken note of the blackout and could attempt some thing similar in the future. (Al-Qaeda says they are "Damaging the Economy".. Well damn!!! I think thousands of people, just like I did, went out and spent 'tons' of money on things like 'generators', water, gasoline, food, everything they had to replace, or install to preserve their dependence on electricity. While at the same time, in the aftermath, cutting their electricity use ..way..way.. down. I'll bet all that spending probably gave the economy a bit of a boost, or at the very least curbed a lot of the losses. Thanks Al-Qaeda! But I still don't think you had anything to do with it!.. Nice try though!) No criminal charges in shotgun home defense Hoisington said he concluded that 67-year-old William Gates did nothing illegal Aug. 1 when he stepped onto the porch of his Tripe Street home and opened fire with a shotgun. Gates thought a shot had been fired in his direction, and he was defending himself and his home, he said. "While I'm not necessarily encouraging this type of action, I do not intend to prosecute in this case," Hoisington said. (I wonder how he well would have fared in Canada? All his guns would have been confiscated by now, and the lawyers fees would have pushed him into bankruptcy, where he would have to sell is house to pay for his defence. 'Then' perhaps welfare would be able to house him in an apartment in 'Jamestown' where at least he wouldn't have a front porch to defend when the next volley of bullets finished the job they missed the first time.. Canada: "Disarmed, Defenceless, Dead".. It's the Law! ) Registered Car and Licensed Driver Plows into a Crowd of Fifty People and Kills ST-JEROME, Que. -- A 59-year-old man was charged with drunk driving causing death after an 18-year-old man was rammed by a speeding car and embedded in the windshield for nearly an hour. The incident happened around 3 a.m. Saturday when a car hurtled into a group of about 50 people leaving a bar near Ste-Adele, about 70 kilometres north of Montreal. As the car sped away, a woman noticed one of her male friend's shoes on the road, but saw he was missing. The man drove around for an hour with the victim embedded in his windshield before being arrested, police said.(What will the Government do now? Will they build a billion dollar bureaucracy to photograph, licence, register, and store personal, private, information on the lives of drinkers that own vehicles? (after all, their all potential drunk drivers waiting to kill aren't they?), Will they start confiscating the property of any unlicensed person that owns a car? Will they remove their right to self incrimination while searching their houses for alcohol and gasoline? Will they confiscate all vehicles if they fail to notify the government within 30 days of an address change? Will they virtually destroy a billion dollar car racing industry because speeding cars are dangerous in the wrong hands? Will they kick down doors in the middle of the night because a 'neighbour' thinks someone is holed up with a 'bottle' and 'may' own a unregistered car? Will they hold a candle light vigil for years afterward, and blame the whole thing on the availability of cars? WILL THEY BLAME THE CAR? Or, will they simply blame and prosecute the 'person' responsible for this crime, and the whole thing will be forgotten in 30-60 days by everyone but those injured by this despicable asshole? What's wrong with this picture?) CRIME: Keep 'em guessing Moore's anti-gun rant new on video Bowling For Columbine filmmaker Michael Moore is audaciously upfront with his liberal biases. Witness his Oscar-acceptance speech. In this stunning anti-gun rant that won him the golden statue, Moore takes an uncompromising look at the United States and its penchant for guns and violence. The video release was delayed following the Academy Awards ceremony and now it includes Moore talking about his unorthodox Oscar acceptance speech, although the motion-picture academy refused to let him include the speech in the DVD version.(I'm sure you can find it in the "fiction' section of your video store or library, right beside equal "documentaries" such as "Reefer Madness". This is the film that cheated REAL documentary works, out of their Oscars by manipulative politics and editing. If you rent the dvd, write the word "fiction" on a sticker, and place it in the case before you return it. People should be warned that this "Crockumentary" is based on deceit) The True Aim Of Gun Grabbers The fact is theirs is a very different agenda than they claim. Their stated goals fade in the face of the facts about guns and gun ownership. 70% of the states in this nation have enacted laws allowing citizens to carry guns. And violent crime has dropped in those states. The predicted shootouts in the streets and rampaging citizens predicted by the gun control gang have never come to pass. Yet they continue to use this false campaign of fear and lies to try to persuade us of the need for their gun control ideals in America. They tell us that guns and children are a deadly mix. They tell us no parent should own a gun. They tell us of all the children killed by guns accidentally every year. Yet when the truth is examined on these matters the lies of the gun grabbers become apparent. More children die every year in fires, falls, drownings, and from playing football than by accidental shootings. If the gun control gang is really concerned about saving kids then why are they not campaigning against two-story homes, swimming pools and youth football? Why do they just target guns? (In Canada, as in the U.S., there is very little sense or substance to the claims made by gun control groups. As long as a Liberal Government controls this country, you can expect the loss of individual rights to continue. From Gun Ownership, to the Coderre Card (Cod-Piece), individual rights one by one, will vanish as the wishes of the special interest groups with the most money take precedence over YOUR rights and freedoms. And, if you think that Paul Martin (The man that actually wrote the Liberal Red Book of Lies) is going to make any difference at all, you must be on drugs... ) The Firearms Registry Assures Another "Culture of Safety" in Vancouver Of the five wounded at Loft Six, two were innocent bystanders shot in the legs. Yesterday, they were in good condition in hospital. A third man who was shot in the back remains in extremely critical condition. A fourth man, also shot in the back, refused treatment when taken to hospital. He was subsequently released, but then taken into police custody. A fifth man is in very serious but stable condition in hospital. All the men are in their 20s or 30s. "More than one gun is involved. However, we're not sure how many -- nor the types of guns involved or the shots fired," Bloor said.(Thank god everyone has been protected from renegade 'duck hunters' and 'target shooters'. Now I'm sure any guns recovered will be quickly confirmed as registered, identified, and traced by our fantastic billion dollar gun registry back to the perpetrators of these crimes! And, no doubt their licences will be revoked!) REAL debate needed on Coderre card That means finally addressing some of the basic flaws in the proposed biometric identity card that the minister glosses over. And putting on the table other measures that could better promote national security. Coderre demonstrated little of the sophistication this debate requires in his recent poll. A sample of Canadians were asked: "Do you support or oppose the idea of the federal government issuing mandatory ID cards to Canadians?'' A surprising 74 per cent expressed support. But the choice people are making is much more complex, as Coderre knows. Would law-abiding people really want to be fingerprinted by the state? Do we have any evidence these cards make the world safer? (Will there be a time when every 'free(?)' Canadian will have to carry, and produce his or her 'Coderre card' on the demand/whim of any police officer, or government official? If Canadians keep voting Liberal, harebrained schemes such as this, will be forced on us by future Liberal majority governments. And, as we all know, Liberal majority governments are nothing more than dictatorships, bending to the desires of any special interest groups that are willing to abandon REAL freedom in favour of power! This Coderre Card, soon to be known simply as a "Cod-Piece", like other historical "Cod-Pieces", will do nothing but cover, and protect a bunch of little pricks) Gun registry motion pondered Whitehorse city councillors will decide next week whether they support a motion coming forward to Ottawa city council that calls on the federal government to abolish the gun registry for long guns. Ottawa city councillor Dwight Eastman brought the motion to his fellow councillors that Parliament be asked to: • retain the licensing component of Bill C-68; • strengthen the sentencing and penalties associated with the use of a firearm in the commission of a crime; • abolish the unworkable national firearms registry for long guns; and • redirect the tax dollars being spent on the registry to programs in support of municipal infrastructure, health care, education and local law enforcement.(For a complete list of the 'Ontario' councils that are dealing with the same issue, see the: O.F.A.H. Municipal Gun Registry Motion Germany gun registry deadline is 2005 Americans in Germany have until June 30, 2005 to get their privately owned firearms registered with German authorities. Until that deadline, firearms owners must either comply with German registration requirements, ship their firearms stateside or legally dispose of them. Once firearms are officially registered with German authorities, they must continue to be stored in a local arms room. Owners are allowed to take firearms out only to ship them to the United States or after the arms have been registered on a valid German weapons possession card...(And of course, it's not as if the Germans have a history of confiscating firearms or anything. As history proved, a safer Germany is a Germany full of unarmed citizens.. Just like the last time..)
Ontario Provincial Liberals 'If Elected' Admit They WILL Prosecute Firearms Owners KITCHENER -- A provincial Liberal government would order Crown attorneys to prosecute firearm owners who run afoul of the gun registry requirements. Liberal MPP David Caplan said yesterday a Liberal government would require the enforcement of all laws, including the controversial gun registry. "We do not selectively decide which laws we will prosecute and which laws we will not," Caplan said. "The laws of Canada have to be enforced." His comments came shortly after Premier Ernie Eves said in a speech to the Police Association of Ontario that his government has told Crown attorneys not to pursue charges laid under the gun registry. "It is time we stop targeting hunters, collectors and sport shooters and got on with the business of targeting real criminals," Eves said. "That is why we have made it clear that we will not clog our court system with prosecutions under the federal government's overpriced, ineffective gun registry boondoggle." Eves said the cost of the registry is now hitting $1.5-$2 billion -- an amount that would put an extra 12,000 cops on Canadian streets.(A Liberal win in Ontario would be disastrous for the shooting sports, and the hunting/fishing industry in general. The waste will be tremendous, the tax bills will be incredible, the crime rate under the soft glove of the Liberals will soar to heights never before witnessed in this provence. The urban vote controls the politics of Ontario, the question urbanites 'have' to ask themselves is: Is it better to spend a billion more on disarming duck hunters, or hire more cops to disarm the bad guys. Controlling sportsmen because they own firearms, is NOT controlling crime. A liberal vote simply means MORE misdirected crime control funds, and MORE 'REAL' criminals with guns!) Toronto's wake-up call to confront youth gangs A disturbing outbreak of gun violence in Toronto has prompted the city's police chief to issue a cry for help on two separate occasions in the past week. A good thing, too. The city has a leadership vacuum. If Chief Julian Fantino doesn't have all the solutions, at least he is posing important questions. In the latest incident, a witness said 30 or 40 bullets whizzed through a parking lot crowded with children and families at a public housing development Saturday night. Four adults were wounded. A week earlier, police responding to a wild 3 a.m. shootout on Yonge Street were met by a bottle-throwing crowd. The shooters got away; no witnesses came forward. In recent days, three teenagers and a young man have been fatally shot or beaten.(Expect more of the same if the Ontario Liberals win the next election, as MORE funds are misdirected to prosecute simple registry violations. More REAL criminal gun cases will be thrown out or plea bargained away. Remember, the criminal 'knows' how to work the system, the average sportsman does not. As a result, the Sportsman will go to jail or receive the BIG fine, while the REAL gun crime criminal 'walks'. Its all about working the system, the career criminal definitely has the edge!) Ernie Eves: Tough On Crime. Dalton McGuinty? Missing In Action. "When it comes to being tough on crime, Dalton McGuinty is tough to track down. He's missing in action," Bob Runciman, MPP Leeds-Grenville said today. "Dalton's record on crime, even his own platform makes it clear - when it comes to law and order, Dalton McGuinty's been missing in action for the past 13 years."(The 'Federal Liberals' have shown liberal politics are scandal ridden, and partisan based. Why would 'any' sportsman vote for the provincial version of these wasteful clowns?) Local sticks to his guns Ever wonder how the federal gun registration program came to cost taxpayers more than a billion dollars? Local gun-owner Brad Robertson has a pretty good idea. In 1997 Robertson bought a revolver to use for target shooting. The Canadian Firearms Registry (CFR) allowed him to purchase the gun and transfer it into his name. The gun was a prohibited weapon - it had a 104mm long barrel, just shy of the 105mm minimum barrel length. No sooner had Robertson received the proper documentation for the gun when the CFR sent him a letter stating he must surrender the weapon.(Maybe I'm just a bit stupid, but I fail to see the logic in the short barrel prohib. I've owned and used handguns in competition for over 35 years, but because I never owned a 'snub' I'm not deemed anywhere near as trustworthy as my friend who has only been shooting for 6 years, but bought a snub when he started! If this stupid law is not a fine example of blatant discrimination, I don't know what is. The Government supposedly 'says' I'm trustworthy, and in their largess, issued me a 'licence' to continue to own the property I have legally owned in most cases, for over 40 years. I can go out and buy a .50 Calibre "sniper rifle" that's every bit as deadly accurate as 'my' physical abilities, and eyesight allow. But I'm 'disallowed' the RIGHT to own a .22 cal. derringer (not that I have any use for one), that would in all likelihood bounce a projectile off a balloon if I were ever to accomplish the accuracy required to even hit one at 50 yards with a two inch barrel.. My .40 Para has far more firepower and accuracy than the majority of pistols this stupid law prohibits. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.) Don't worry about gun law, assembly told TSIIGEHTCHIC, N.W.T. - The N.W.T.'s justice minister says aboriginal hunters in the territory shouldn't be worried about Canada's new gun laws while out shooting this fall. Roger Allen says he's been told the RCMP don't plan to charge anyone using unregistered firearms for hunting purposes. Allen made the comments at the Gwich'in assembly Tuesday in Tsiigehtchic. (No one should worry about this 'anywhere'. If six people visiting every provincial capitol in the country, and providing proof of contravention of the firearms act, can't get themselves arrested under this farce of a law, hunters have little to worry about. If the RCMP are not charging natives, they can't charge 'anybody' because those charges would be clearly race based. If the government won't enforce the law, the law should be Null & Void. And 'if' you are charged under this farce of a law, you can probably expect to be defended 'pro bono' all the way to the Supreme Court, the LAST place this disreputable government would like to be with this 'act' ) Refugee hell experienced The "refugees" day began on a school bus where they were given name tags indicating their country of origin, their refugee name and their circumstances. Crestwood student Desiree Kretschmor , 17, was given the identity of Sara Escobar , a 15-year-old Columbian refugee who can't read or write and is fleeing from her government. Her card read that her sister has been abducted and was likely raped and dead. "You are no longer the names you came with," Ms Flynn told the students. "I thinking it will be a different experience," said Danielle Quibell , 17, also a Crestwood student. "It will teach me a lot about global education." After the shock of the government troops throwing them off the bus, the soldiers separated the girls from the boys. The boys were told to march in place to test their fitness for soldiering. The girls were insignificant. Why? Because they're girls, said the soldiers. The two soldiers, played by Mr. Ng'ettze and Brenda McCarrell , ordered the students to march to their refugee camp. Halfway to the camp the refugees were ambushed by rebel forces. Three rebels, armed with pistols and rifles, ordered the refugees on the ground as they searched their packs for valuables. "Comrade! Comrade!" shouted a rebel named Gabriel Chol . "I think we're going to take this one," he said pointing his pistol at a female refugee, crouched on the ground, her head buried in the dirt field.(I wonder if it occurred to any one of these young, 'acting refugees' that this is what happens in most countries, where 'only' the police and/or soldiers have guns, as has been advocated by Allan Rock, author of our billion dollar liberal gun farce? I wonder if it occurred to any one of these young, 'acting refugees' that the reason they were now victims is they are unarmed and/or were 'disarmed' by their governments. I wonder if it occurred to any of these 'acting refugees' that maybe being disarmed by your government is not so good? I wonder if it occurred to any of these young, 'acting refugees' that loosing your freedom, being raped or killed, because you can't fight back might not be the politically correct thing to do? Just wondering!) Gun backers claim momentum among state governments However, Mr. Kessler said he had to agree that bloody streets and "OK corral shoot-outs" that many gun-control advocates predicted when concealed carry laws were enacted haven't come to pass. "The mainstream media were hysterical when the Florida bill was on the verge of passing" in 1987, Mr. LaPierre said. "They were predicting shoot-outs in the streets. None of it happened." Indeed, the statistics show that a very small percentage of citizens issued licenses to carry concealed weapons had their permits revoked for committing crimes with guns. Since 1986, only 0.8 percent of Kentucky's 71,770 licenses were revoked for any reason. The rate was 0.2 percent for the 172,347 Virginians who carry concealedweapons. The crime report statistics in every state that allows concealed weapons are similar. "It's common sense," Mr. LaPierre said. "The bad guys could care less. They don't apply for permits anyway. They go about their business breaking laws and carrying on their life of crime. "If you ask the public if a nurse getting off work late at night should have a firearm to protect herself, the public says yes."(If more of those drug dealing, little criminal bastards in Toronto, were facing the unknown threat of a 'armed victim' crime would be dropping here too. But the paranoids among us think Canadian firearms owners, who by the way have a much better safety and firearm competency record than most police services, are too stupid to be armed and trusted! Meanwhile, that nurse getting off late from work, anywhere in Canada, is just more fodder for the growing number of predators among us! Times are changing, times are more dangerous. 'Kid Glove Liberal policies', both previous and current are largely to blame. Feel safer? I didn't think so! Here's how the progress of Shall Issue Concealed Carry in the U.S. is going, and please note, there have been NO 'Shoot outs' in the street as the paranoid American anti's had predicted. Does this mean that Canadian anti's think Canadians firearms owners are more violent and less trustworthy than Americans, or are they just more paranoid?) Ontario Judge orders a corrupt Liberal bureaucracy to pay $70M The Amertek case is the latest in a series of criminal and civil cases in which alleged or proven misconduct by federal bureaucrats has been exposed in what Canadian Alliance MP John Williams calls an "ethical malaise" sweeping the public service. The incidents have included alleged bribery of Immigration judges and a Health Canada bureaucrat, embezzlement by a Public Works accountant and allegations by helicopter manufacturers that the Liberal government has rigged the bidding for its new Maritime helicopter to favour a French consortium. Dennis Mills, a Toronto Liberal MP, subsequently pressured the government to review the CCC officials' conduct in the case. Public Works hired auditors at Deloitte Touche to conduct "an objective, independent and comprehensive review." Instead, Judge O'Driscoll found, the government hired auditors who had done considerable prior work for the CCC. Worse, their report was reviewed by the president of CCC, Douglas Patriquin, at every stage of the process and of its editing.(Now doesn't 'this' sound very familiar to the current auditing scam that 'cured' the problems at the CFC, and has been subsequently labelled as a useless public relations exercise by the Auditor General?.. Voting Liberal in the next federal election will only be interpreted as a validation of their shady tactics and principals. THIS liberal government has gone FAR beyond the deception and corruption of the former Trudeau liberal regime, and that was pretty bad!) Strongstown boy takes NRA championship Before the echo of his competitor's last shot had faded from the range, Jeremy realized he had just become the 2003 NRA National Silhouette Champion in the .22-caliber A class. It was a Daisy Red Rider BB gun that Jeremy received for Christmas when he was 5 years old that started the youngster on his journey to national acclaim. "He has always loved shooting, ever since he was a little kid," said his father, Dan. "I got him started shooting .22s when he was 8 or 9 years old. "Eric has helped out and took him from there. He got him interested in shooting targets and silhouettes. He likes competition." Amick is no stranger to the competitive shooting arena. His son Aaron won the .22-caliber AA class national championship in 1995. As an NRA-certified shooting instructor, Amick has a knack for finding exceptional shooters. "Some kids just stand out. I don't know what it is or if you can define it," said Amick. "Some kids have that something special."(My 5 year old grandson shoots his fathers pellet gun under proper supervision and the old Daisy I have in my workshop every time he visits. Children that are taught about firearms by their parents, are NOT children that get in trouble with firearms. It's only the ones that pick up poor information from their peers, and illegal guns on the street that are the ones to worry about. The ones taught properly will make you proud by becoming good citizens and conservationists) What we 'really' need is protection from the "Bozone layer" Over Ottawa! OTTAWA -- Canada is set to dole out $1 billion, or half, of the funding for the Kyoto Protocol aimed at slowing global warming, even as doubts remain about whether the controversial environmental treaty ever will come into force. Sources said the announcement is scheduled for today. One of the most popular elements of the Kyoto spending will be rebates of as much as $1,000 for Canadians who retrofit their homes to make them more energy-efficient. But critics said Ottawa is jumping the gun because it is not certain that Kyoto will ever be a binding pact. The accord will not come into force until countries representing 55 percent of global emissions ratify the deal.(Just like the firearms registry, and the HRDC.. What the hell, it's only another Liberaly wasted 'Billion' or TWELVE ) Taxpayers group pans NTI gun challenge IQALUIT, Nunavut - The Canadian Taxpayers Federation is denouncing Nunavut Tunngavik's efforts to see Inuit exempted from the federal firearms registry. The Federation describes itself as a non-partisan organization that acts as a watchdog on government spending and taxation. LINK: Canadian Taxpayers Federation The federation believes that if Inuit are exempt from registering their guns, all Canadians should be.(If they would end their argument at this point, just about everyone would agree with them. Nobody needs or wants a 'race based law' and I doubt it would be supported by the Supreme Court. The reason that the Liberals never submitted any of this to the SCC for validation before inflicting it on the public, and the reason it simply will not lay charges under the firearms act, thereby making the entire act a 'parliamentary forced farce'. And why would the Federal Liberals, have exempted 'for the most part' the largest single group of suicide prone people in the entire world? Because they KNOW that eliminating the access to firearms, will NOT stop suicides.: In 1974, American sociologist D.P. Phillips described how imitative suicides often are found when a suicide is sensationalized in the media. Suicide rates increased in an area proportionally to the amount of newspaper coverage devoted to a story about a suicide. But in the small communities of Nunavut, people aren't imitating stories from the media; they're imitating friends and family. Even the method of suicide follows a pattern from one community to another. Gunshot was the most common method of suicide in the western Canadian Arctic, while hangings were most common in the east. ) Where's Dalton? Today, Ernie Eves appeared on CFRA in Ottawa to point out the raw deal Dalton's federal cousins are giving the people of Ontario, from a lack of funding for SARS, to a gun registry that is out of control, to a broken immigration system. Dalton McGuinty? Still thinking not enough SARS funding is good enough, still believing that raising taxes on corporations will not hurt job creation, still planning to raise taxes by a whopping $1100 per household, still missing in action. Liberals figure the best way to lead is to hide their leader.(They used to call Harris, 'Mike the Knife' but because the Liberal leader looks so much like 'Norman Bates' they probably feel it's better to keep him hidden. Dalton the guy that thinks the Gun Registry is a good idea and a valuable asset!!! Remember folks.. The LAST time the Liberals were in power in Ontario they were so bad, we replaced them with the NDP.. And THAT'S Bad! Remember: if you Fish, Hunt, Trap, or enjoy shooting sports of any kind Dalton and his 'Urban Liberals' will kill your future!) The night the street became a 'war zone' The shooters used crowd cover to escape. Police nearby were mystified. "Near as I can tell, the officers were within 30 feet. But in a mob, 30 feet might as well be 30 miles," said Detective David Barwell, who is investigating the shootings. Panic followed. The scene resembled the "running of the bulls," the detective said. As the revellers fled the area, so did the gunmen. By now, the ranks of police officers had grown to several hundred. The sounds of shattering glass made some jittery; they wondered if it was gunfire.(500,000 people gathered for the Toronto rock concert, with virtually NO problems. This concert was not a hip hop, or Caribbean flavoured music fest, so consequently there was no gunfire involved. And yet, if the police mention the 'colour' of the average young criminal gunman, the screaming hordes yell racist.. This is absolutely absurd. If 'law abiding citizens' were allowed to carry a concealed firearm, crime would decrease substantially just as it has in every single one of the American states that have allowed this to happen. Too bad the Liberals are convinced that everyone that owns a firearm is a potential criminal, and not a potential protector of the general population. If I lived in downtown Toronto, my gun would be loaded and on my night table every time I went to bed, and it's perfectly legal! Welcome to the Liberal "Culture of Safety" I'm sure you feel safer every day their in power wasting your tax dollars, & harassing the law abiding. If you think I'm way off base, and a little irresponsible for advocating the legal concealed handgun, have a look at this: The ban against public safety) Time to face reality on gun registry fiasco "The more people learn about the federal firearms fiasco, the less support it receives," Garry Breitkreuz, Canadian Alliance firearms critic, said Thursday. What's happening now, he asserts, is public respect for the law is diminished, making it difficult for police to enforce registry provisions. Not that anyone is trying very hard to do that. Already, eight provinces have announced they've no intention of prosecuting firearms scofflaws. B.C. Attorney-General Geoff Plant calls the registry "an unmitigated disaster." Ontario A-G Bob Runciman calls it "a colossal disaster." Native Indians in Williams Lake, meanwhile, say they won't comply, raising the question as to whether other aboriginals will also opt out.(I can tell you for sure, that many other aboriginal groups think the whole thing is a colossal "white mans" joke. I just came back from a short trip to Moose Factory on James Bay, and every Cree I spoke to simply chuckled and gave me the "what are you..stupid?" look, when asked "what do you think of the firearms registry" These people live virtually isolated from the easy trip to the government office for a firearms course and registration info, which of course, is not written in Cree Syllabic. These people have hunted the coast of James Bay for Centuries, and handed down their traditions from father to son. The tradition that will NEVER be handed down is the problem the city dwelling white man has with firearms. To think that these people would suddenly give up their traditions, and way of life simply because a few city dwelling, idiotic, politicians think guns are dangerous is absurd, and insulting. No, Natives will NOT/NEVER comply with this insulting attack on their traditions.) NEW POLL SHOWS The Gun Registry has The Support of Only 38.8% of ALL Canadians. (.pdf file) Control air, pellet guns Documents obtained by Saskatchewan MP Garry Breitkreuz under the Access to Information Act show the User Group on Firearms made 11 recommendations to Martin Cauchon on Feb. 4, 2003, including one to decriminalize the possession of unregistered firearms by a licensed owner. (This is a short version of the whole story from Garry's site below. The important thing here is that newspapers are now paying attention to the news releases Garry's office sends out. They now 'know' that 'he' knows what he's talking about. Ever since the Auditor General confirmed what Garry had been red flagging for years, the media has been taking him seriously, and everyone is benefiting by the exposure of the shady tactics this government has been practising for years. The next Prime Minister id the man that actually 'wrote' the Liberal red book of lies and deceit. Do you really thing the government is going to change for the better? Do you really think things will improve? The 'only' way for the Liberals to pull their collective heads out of their asses will be by humiliation at the polls.) MINISTER’S USER GROUP ON FIREARMS SHOOTS BIG HOLES IN HIS “ACTION PLAN” The
documents reveal that, on February 4, 2003, the Justice Minister’s own User
Group on Firearms sent him eleven major recommendations including a
recommendation to: “Decriminalize all firearms activities where no
criminal intent or activity occurs, such as the possession of unregistered
firearms by a licenced person.” The User Group also warned the Minister: “Continuing
on the current path without addressing the main reasons affecting maximum
compliance puts the entire program at considerable risk.
Revisiting the legislation later, rather than sooner, will result in
greater cost with less chance of success.”
See attached for the 11 “recommendations” from the Minister’s User
Group on Firearms. Woefully Ignorant Liberal McGuinty, Says it Would Not Cost Anything For Eves To Support Gun Registration MCGUINTY: I am a big huge fan of gun registration. We are at a point in our society where we got to make a decision. The United States of America today, 40% of the folks there keep a gun around the house, and they'll tell you for purposes of self-defense. I want our guns in this province and indeed in this country to be registered. I want our police to know who owns the guns and I want them to know where they are kept in that house. If we've got some procedural problems along the way because it's becoming too expensive or it's burdensome, then let's address those issues. I think the principle is sound. ..... After considerable debate, McGuinty states that it doesn't cost anything for the Premier to say that he supports gun registration. McGuinty again addresses concerns around cost: MCGUINTY: It doesn't cost anything, and it's very important that it be done, and that's for the Premier to stand up and say, "I support gun registration." If you've got some problems with the cost associated with the system that's been put forward, then let's address those, but I think it's important for the leader of the land to stand up and say, "We will have gun registration in our province."(My god, he IS woefully ignorant! Just from the fact that he released this information 'AGAIN' Shows that he has learned absolutely nothing, and supports Liberal waste no matter what the ultimate cost! Your right Mr. McGuinty! The only thing it would cost the premiere to say something like that would be his self respect. And, the respect of hunters, trappers, farmers, and sports shooters all over Ontario. Because they would know that then 'he' would be much like 'you', fairly ignorant of what the 'real' problem is. It would cost all Ontario citizens millions of dollars for something that has NEVER resulted in reduced crime ANYWHERE in the world. Instead, it is always something that has turned ordinary citizens into unarmed fodder for the predators among us. Criminals do not respect the law, regardless of how many, or what laws you pass. Giving them the vote, coddling them in court, and handing out short meaningless sentences, only let them know what a bunch of spineless 'patsies' the liberals really are. Only the defective thinking of people like McGuinty and Chrétien seems miss this! God help us, and the entire country if ignorant liberals such as McGuinty end up at the helm of the Ontario industrial engine. Our great grandchildren will not live long enough to pay off the debt that will be generated by these knee-jerk legislators! If you Shoot, Hunt, Fish, Farm, or simply collect firearms, voting Liberal in the next election will be the same as voting for the elimination of your sport, hobby and/or your livelihood. A Liberal government as proven by Ottawa, is simply the thin edge of the socialist wedge. A wedge that can't seem to tell the difference between law abiding citizens, and gun toting criminals. A government is 'supposed' to reflect the TRUE wishes of ALL the people, not the distorted, twisted lies and manipulations of their supporting special interest groups, and of course, their own hidden agendas. McGuinty is in 'lockstep' with the Ottawa Liberals, so Ontario can expect the same type of graft, patronage, dictatorial policies, and lack of rural life representation that we currently are inflected with from the Ottawa Mob.. ) “Anything you own can be expropriated without due process and without compensation say the Supremes.” Yorkton – Today, Garry Breitkreuz, Official Opposition Critic for Firearms and Property Rights, denounced a Supreme Court decision saying that the government has the power to take anyone’s property without due process and without compensation simply by passing an “unambiguous” law. “We have just lost one of our most important freedoms necessary for the existence of a truly free and democratic society. The right to life and the right to property go hand-in-hand – you can’t have one without the other. When Parliament resumes sitting in September, Canadian Alliance will be introducing a motion calling for property rights to be entrenched in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms,” promised Breitkreuz. What got Breitkreuz so riled was the Supreme Court’s July 17th judgment in the class-action suit Authorson v. Canada in which the Supremes ruled in favour of the federal government and against mentally disabled war veterans (see supporting documentation). The government amended the Veteran Affairs Act to avoid paying hundreds of millions in interest on pension benefits the government had held in trust for about 30,000 veterans. The Supreme Court ruled: “Parliament has the right to expropriate property, even without compensation, if it has made its intention clear and, in s. 5.1(4), Parliament's expropriative intent is clear and unambiguous.”(As has been said, time and time again. Not just the Liberals, but ANY majority, unresponsive Canadian government, has what it takes to take what you have. The original law denying 'some' veterans their pension rights, was passed by Mulroney's Conservatives, and cheered on by the current Liberals. With out property rights, and the necessary banning of federal use of the 'not withstanding clause' nothing you own is safe from the government, even your own personal safety and the constitution itself is on the table!) Premier targets federal gun registry Ontario Premier Ernie Eves used Peterborough as his back drop Tuesday morning to announce Ontario will not prosecute those charged under the federal firearms registry. Calling the registry a waste of money which has done nothing to stop gun crime or the illegal flow of guns from south of the border, he said prosecuting those under the registry will not be a priority of Ontario prosecutors. They will, he added, prosecute those charged with Criminal Code offences concerning guns. In a campaign pledge, he said his government, if re-elected, would instead focus on cracking down on gun-related crime, having tougher sentences in place for those who use a gun to commit a crime and create special courts for dealing with firearm-related offences.
