The Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force (SPMAGTF) Experimental (X) MOUT Training Program of Instruction (POI) incorporates lessons learned, doctrine, and tactics, techniques and procedures from various sources applied to close terrain and the urban environment. It is an ongoing effort to support the Urban Warrior experimentation. It is intended to be a user friendly, easy reference guide for use in a unit training program.
The MOUT Training POI is divided into sections to assist in planning, training, and executing both unit training as well as preparation for operational contingencies. The MOUT Homepage is manually typing and posting each section. Upon completion of an individual section or subsection it will be posted and linked from the table of contents below.
As time permits, the MOUT Homepage will provide Hot Links to Internet sites that can provide further insight on the issues and concepts discussed in the SPMAGTF(X) POI. MOUT Homepage Hot Links can be found at the bottom of each section of the POI.
MOUT Homepage visitors are encouraged to forward recommended changes, updates, or improvements. The MOUT Homepage will forward them along to the SPMAGTF(X). Keep in mind that this MOUT Training POI's intended audience is the small unit leader. Any lesson learned; or suggestion on tactics, techniques and procedures; that can enable this young combat Marine to succeed in a very difficult environment would be greatly appreciated and welcomed. In addition, feel free to use the MOUT Forum to post questions or make comments concerning urban operations. General MOUT comments and lessons learned, as well as comments concerning the MOUT POI can be found at the MOUT Homepage Comments Site
