These images were created during a period of about 15 months when I was actively participating in the "WET" group, 1998 to early 2000. Because of family illness and obligations, I'm "on sabbatical" at this time, but I hope to return to the project some day soon (now that my youngest child has left for college!). I really enjoyed the challenge of creating something new out of "found" images. An image full of heavenly bodies and a thistle/teasel plant become a bouquet. WET 66: Bouquet! Some old fashioned images became a nostalgic charm bracelet. WET 65: Charms! Two pieces of Valentine clip art gave me a heart in a gilded cage. :) WET 64: Captured Heart! Some romantic images became a message to my husband WET 63: For Ron! Images from Africa became a museum piece WET 62: Rare Medallion Images from various cultures become a world map in WET 61: TheoTopology! Lots of light this week! Sun, moon, candles and more in WET 60: The Magic Mirror! We were given champagne in a bucket, beach homes, and a paid up mortgage--and I took scissors to everything! WET 59: A Kit for Rita! R.C. sent a picture of a big-eyed creature in an exotic oriental setting, and I ended up with an elevated image! WET 58: A True Leader! Debbie gave us a portrait, a book, fabric, and a stylized tree, and I ended up writing a story to go with my picture! WET 57: Solace! This week brought a large collection of images that gave me a real challenge in trying to use them all! WET 56: "Sorting!" "A New Quilt" and "Text Flake" We were given a rather romantic collection of images this week, and the season affected my result! WET 55: Holiday Wreath! This week's collection was eclectic And I found this marvelous mask in it. WET 54: Mardi Gras! I've almost outdone myself! LOL Here's an image that really pleased me. WET 53: Still Life (with flowers)! I've discovered a new galaxy! WET 52: Galaxy Oceanica! Here's a rather unusual gift for the holidays WET 51: Holiday Display! An exotic collection in a strange garden WET 50: Exotics! In the spirit of the seasons WET 49: Harvest Trees! Back again! A feminine, military "George"? WET 48: Curious Georgette! This wet (WET 47) is not available yet because I was recuperating! (: This wet (WET 46) is not available yet because I was in the hospital. (: My 39th WET....and it's yet another floral offering! WET 45: Bouquet! Some somber and spooky images this time! My (dismal) green monochrome result is WET 44: Summoned! A horseshoe plus some natural materials added up to this image! WET 43: War Bonnet! Given some heavenly bodies, I combined them to create: WET 40: A Cosmic Creature! What happens when I play with a cow's skull? Here's the result: WET 39: Bull's Eye! After spinning yarn all week at the fair, this one was a natural for me! Here's the WET 38: Bionic Musical Spinner! A visit to Cleveland for the theme this week! I went "against the tide" on this one, looking for softness. Here's the WET 37: Summer Ruins. WET 36, the thirtieth one for me! Can you tell Ron Hull is from England? Here are WET 36: "Greenwich Moonridian Time" and "Tartan Sky." WET 35...and I got to choose the theme this week! Here's the WET 35 Original in both .jpg and .psp format. Also, WET 35: "Beach Party" and "My Cameo." My 28th WET in a row! This one is about a teddy bear's dream. I've named it WET 34: A Snowflake's Chance.... Our 4th of July WET original contained some pirate equipment. I used selected parts to create WET 33: The War God Half a year's worth! This week's image started out as one rather small element of the original WET! WET 32: Pillar of the Community (finally?) I can't believe I've done WETs for 25 weeks! This week's collection ended up in a surprise setting! WET 31: Invasion! It's my 24th time of participation. Maybe I've been reading too much fantasy lately! WET 30: Not Again! For my 23rd project, I went back to the 70's. WET 29: Man in the Moon Marigolds. Twenty two projects for me! One of my favorite characters showed up for this one. WET 28: Opus 101. My 21st week, I decided to create a tile. WET 27: Candle, Cactus, and Pepper the Dog. My twentieth image for the WET series! I decided to put some action in it. WET 26: Neptune and More. Now at nineteen weeks, I was a bit more prolific. WET 25: Baseball, Carving, and Mexican Memories. My 18th week produced this single version. WET 24: Color Coordinated Quest This is my seventeenth consecutive week of participation. This challenge consisted of 3 golden skeletons holding (Easter?) baskets! WET 23: Carpet, Rug, and Eggs will, hopefully, floor you! :) This week we were given a lovely photo of a wharf-side scene. WET 22: Watercolor, New Sailor, and Kaleidoscope share the honors this time. Week fifteen for me was a real challenge. It combined several good old Rock 'n' Roll images. WET 21: Knights of the King's Turntable was my result. My fourteenth week of working on these projects. This week WET 20: Mona Lisa shares the spotlight with a dalmatian and an Amsterdam square! Thirteen weeks of doing this; hope I am improving! I've done some rather weird things to my versions of WET 19: Lobster et al. Here's my twelfth week's result, WET 18: Flip Side. My eleventh effort (in another very busy week!) is WET 17: Balanchine's Bouquet. NOTE: November 1999: This image was awarded first prize in a digital art contest sponsored by our state capital's computer users group My tenth WET project (done after a hectic weekend) is WET 16: A Gathering of Roses. Here's the link to my ninth week's efforts, WET 15: A collection of "Creepy" art. This, my eighth week of WET work, produced 3 "official" images for WET 14: The Castle. There are also two other images which resulted from my work on this project. My seventh week only produced one WET image from WET #13: The Factory. This was a rather silly image, but my "real" one went crash and I haven't revived it. :( My sixth week of creating WET designs, WET #12: WES 'n' Olio. Two versions of a compass (sort-of) using the eclectic trio of images Will came up with for our challenge this week. And it was a challenge! My fifth week of creating WET designs, WET #11: Egyptian Fun, three different versions using the Egyptian images Ron gave us for this week's subject. I was in a creative (read weird?) mood! My fourth week of creating WET designs, WET #10: Tom and Maggie, two different versions using the Victorian (I believe) children Judith found and offered up for this week's subject. One came from my yearning to be warm, the other is a seasonal product! My third week of involvement in the WET project, WET #9: The WET Logo, two different versions of the WET logo created by Mike Christy. I have a "conservative" one and an "emotional" one! My second week's WET project, WET #8: The Old Car, This image was of an old car in the desert... and I saw something in the bushes! My first WET project, WET #7: The Artist, is a tribute to D'Lan, an artist and teacher who passed away just after Christmas 1998.
