Baby Length: almost 14 inches head to toe Baby Weight: About 2.5 pounds Mother's Weight: would qualify for open weight division in women's judo This week Joe and I started our birthing classes at Methodist Hospital. It's interesting so far, and Methodist certainly is a nice hospital. The woman who teaches our class is fabulous! Although, I have flashbacks of high school health class, when she pulls out a chart of the female reproductive chart and starts pointing things out. We do have one of the Astros pitchers in our class. Or rather his wife is in our class. Apparently his cousin, who looks most uncomfortable we we talk about personal things, is sitting in for him as coach. I also started my auto mechanics class at Leisure Learning this week. My friend Sherri Ruhl and I are taking it together. We took calc II together and had a blast, despite the fact that it was calc. The mechanics teacher is an odd one. His business card reads: "Creative Solutions: New Dimensions of Personal Empowerment. Repair and Restoration, Custom Graphics, Spiritual Healing, Personal Instruction, Past Life Regression, Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth." But he seems to know cars really well, and is rather good at explaining how things work. I only wish my car was out of the shop so I could use it in the class. I just hope that Thomas absorbs some of the information, so he'll be able to fix our cars when he's external. Things are pretty uneventful as far as the baby is concerned, however. I still feel as though the temperature is a good ten degrees higher than it really is. And my pelvis has been extremely painful, particularly when I get up from sitting. Luckily my exercise class seems to make it better rather than worse. We did take the baby
to a wonderful Houston
Symphony concert in the Woodlands, however. Their new director
is from Austria, so they had a little GermanFest concert. There was
also food and a high school tuba ensemble, but they were both terrible
and failed miserably at being German. The Symphony played beautifully,
however. And the evening was quite pleasant, with a nice breeze and
clear skies.
