"AH" Counter
During the meeting
- When called on by the Toastmaster, rise and explain the "Ah" counter's function at the meeting. Note that a 5-cent fine for each "ah" (up to $1.00) will be asked from each member.
- Listen carefully to all speeches, reports, comments, and other uses of spoken language. Keep track of uses of the following:
- "ah", "uh", "er", "you know", and other annoying "vocalized pauses".
- When called on by the Toastmaster, rise and give a brief report on the number of vocalized pauses used by members. Ask for a 5-cent fine for each "ah" (up to $1.00) from each member.
After the meeting
- Turn in the completed AH Counters report form to the club secretary.
