Hello and thanks to Elizabeth...the website, information and the quality/quantity is more than outstanding. I expected to find an ancestor or two somewhere within these pages and pages of documents...and there they were...John Manning with wife (Sabina) and children on the Agricola. Sabina died......John Manning wed Margaret O'Brien....this couple and some of his children and their very young children became pioneers of Warrnambool. And so the story goes...
I found your website while Googling for information on the daily life in Victoria in the years 1850-1900. The McCarron family from Co. Tyrone has been researched some years ago, but the deeper study of their first fifty years is being undertaken.
Just as an aside, Eleanor is descended from John and Sabina, and I am from John and Margaret. There is red hair in the family which we always attributed to the Manning side, but if there is no red hair in the Manning/Brennan descendants, then it may have come from O'Brien.
Thank you again,
Valma Martin, Bentleigh East
