Brooksville

The Grand Canyon

Terrain:  There are steep drop offs and climbs, and it can be muddy and slick when wet.  No hunting allowed.

To Get There:  Take I-75 to US98/SR 50 in West Central Florida and head West towards Brooksville.  Continue on SR 50 West in Brooksville and turn right on Mundon Hill Road after the Holiday Inn.  Turn right at Copper Terrace.

What were once old lime rock pits are now a hair raising, quad burning, thrill seekers delight of a mountain bike park. There probably aren't more than 10 miles of trails in this area, but the rugged nature of the terrain is ample compensation for the crowd that shows up every weekend.

The owner, John Bennefield, asks $3 for a day's admission.  Call him beforehand at 904-796-8955 to make sure there isn't a race scheduled for the day you want to tool around on the trails.
