This Indenture Made this 27^th day of June in the Year of our Lord Christ One thousand seven hundred and eighty four Between Edward Watts of Bedford County of the one part and John Bratcher of the same County of the other part Witnesseth that the E. Edward Watts for an in consideration of the sum of forty pounds Current money of Virginia to him in hand paid the Receipt which he doth hereby Acknowledge hath bargind, sold aliend Enscoffed and confirmed and by these presents doth bargin Sell, Alien,Enscoff and Confirm unto the said John Bratcher his Heirs and Assigns forever One certain Tract or parcel of Land containing Three Hundred and Nine Acres lying and being County of Bedford on the south side of Stanton River and bounded as followeth, to witt, Beginning at a Red Oak on the River at a Cleft of Rocks, off South eighty three East, One Hundred and fifty-eight poles to a Channel, south five, East one hundred and fifty eight poles to a White Oak, South forty nine West, One Hundred and eighteen poles to a white Oak North Seventy one West One hundred and sixty eight poles to Pointers, North Seventeen West Seventy eight poles to a Red Oak, North eighteen East Seventy poles to the Beginning, With all Houses, Orchards, Gardens, Buildings, Ways and Water Courses, Profits, Commodities, Has a litatements and Appurtenances whatsoever to the same Belonging or in any wise appertaining, and the Reversion and Reversions, Remainder and Remainder Rents. Isshues and profits thereof and of every part and parcel thereof and all the Estate, Right, Title and Interest whatsoever of him the said Edward Watts of in and to the said premises and every part, and every part or parcel thereof To have and to hold the said Tract of Land and all and singular the premises with the Appurtenances unto the said John Bratcher his heirs and Assigns forever to the only proper use and behoof of him the said John Bratcher his Heirs and Assigns forever, and the said Edward Watts for himself his Heirs, Executors & Administrators doth Covenant promise and agree to and with the said John Bratcher, that he the said Edward Watts at the time of sealing and delivering of these presents is and stands siesd Indefeasible Estate of Inheritance in fee simple in the said Lands and premises and hath Lawful Right to convey the same and the said John Bratcher his Heirs and Assigns shall and may forever after peacably quietly have hold pofsefs and enjoy all and singular the Premises without Last S… Trouble or Interuption of any person whatsoever having or lawfully claiming any Estate Right or Title of and to the same on any part thereof and the said Edward Watts and his Heirs shall Will Warrant and forever defend by these presents the aforesaid Land and premises unto the said John Bratcher his Heirs or Assigned against him the said Edward Watts his Heirs and Assigns and Against all other persons whatsoever. At a Court held for Bedford County the 27^th day of September 1784. This Indenture was proved by the Oaths of David Hallaway, Wayman Sinclair & John Ray Witnesses thereto & Ordered to be Recorded
