This Indenture made this 22 Day of February One Thousand Seven hundred and Seventy three Between William Bratcher of Bedford County of the One Part and Josiah Bratcher of the Same County of the Other Part. Witnesseth that the Said William Bratcher for and in Consideration of the Just and full Sum of Two hundred pounds Current Money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the Said Josiah Bratcher the Receipt whereof he doth hereby Acknowledge have Granted Bargained Sold Aliened Enscoffed and Confirmed and by these presents do Grant Bargain Sell Alien Enscoff and Confirm unto the Said Josiah Bratcher his Heirs and Assigns forever One Certain Tract or parcel of Land lying and Being in the County Aforesaid Containing two Hundred Acres which Said Tract is the upper part of the Tract whereof the Said William Bratcher now lives Supposed to be half of the Said William Bratchers Land and to Contain Two hundred Acres more or less Together with the priviledges and Appurtenances thereunto Belonging To Have & to hold the Said Lands and premises with their and every of their Appurtenances unto the Said Josiah Bratcher his heirs and Assigns forever and the said William Bratcher Doth for himself and his heirs Covenant Grant and agree to and with the Said Josiah Bratcher that the Said William Bratcher the Said Land and premises with their and any of their appurtenances unto the Said Josiah Bratcher his Hears and Assigns forever. Shall and will warrant and forever Defend In Witness whereof he the Said William Bratcher hath hereunto Set his hand and affixed his Seal the Day and Year first above Written.
Memorandum that on the Day and Year first within Written Livery of Seision of the Land and premises within Mentioned was given Made done and Delivered to the within Named Josiah Bratcher by the within Named William Bratcher according to the Tenor form and Effect of the within Written Deed
At a Court held for Bedford County February 22nd 1773 This indenture and Memorandum of Livery of Seision Thereon Indorsed weras Proved by the Oaths of Gross Scruggs John Fore and Thomas Scruggs. Witness hereto Subscribed and Ordered to be Recorded Teste Ro. Alexander DCC |
