This Indenter made this 30th day of September In the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and eighty three between William Bradshaw of the One part and William Holland of the Other part Witnesseth that the said William Bradshaw for and in Consideration of the sum of eighty pounds good and lawful Money of Virginia to him in hand paid the receipt he doth hearby Acknowledge hath granted bargained & Sold and by these Preasents doth grant Bargain and sell unto the said William Holland Two hundred and seventy five Acres of land more or less in Bedford County and bounded as followeth, to wit, Beginning at a Spanish Oak on a branch of Meremons Run thence of North Thirty two Degrees East four Poles to a double Popplar North twenty degrees East forty Poles to a Old corner White Oake off East fifty eight Poles to a Spanis Oak on a branch of North forty Degrees East One hundred and eighty six poles crossing a branch to a Dogwood in the branch, North Sixty Degrees East-nine poles to a White Oak, South Sixty Degrees East-One hundred and six poles to pointers South fifty Degrees West-Seventy eight Poles to White Oak south twenty degrees West-forty Poles to Pointers by a branch South One hundred and forty Poles to a Hickory south seventy seven Degrees West-One hundred and sixty five poles to Hollands and Hunts old Corner white Oak, thence along Hollands lines North twenty five Degrees West eighty poles to a white Walnut on a branch, thence up the said branch as it Meanders to the Beginning To have and to hold said granted land & Premises with all the Apurtenances to the same belonging with the revertion & revertions Remainder and Remainders unto him the said William Holland his Heirs and assigns forever and the said William Bradshaw doth by these present Covenant grant and agree to and with the said William Holland that he the said William Bradshaw will warrant and forever defend the within granted land and Premises from him the said William Bratcher his Heirs & Assigns and from every other person Whatever unto the said William Holland his heirs & assigns forever Witness hearof the said William Bradshaw hath preasants set his hand & affixed his seal the day and year above written.
At a court held for Bedford County the 27th day of October 1783 This Indenture was proved by the Oath of Peter Holland and Abram Hudson Witnesses whose names are thereunto Subscribed - And at a Court held for said County the 28th day of February 1791. the said Indenture was further proved by the Oath of Thomas Holland another Witness whose name is thereunto Subscribed & Ordered to be recorded.
