George the third by the grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King defender of the Faith  To James Callaway & Gross Scruggs of the county of Bedford Gentlemen Justices greeting  Whereas Josiah & William Bradshaw of the said County by their certain Indenture bearing date the twenty fifth day of February one thousand seven hundred and Seventy four hat sold and conveyed unto John Hobson the fee Simple estate of and in two hundred Acres of Land to the same more or lefs with the Appurtenancef lying and being in the County of Cumberland and whereas Elizabeth and Susanah the Wives of the said Josiah and William Bradshaw cannot conveniently travel to our Court of our said County of Cumberland to make Acknowledgement of he said Conveyances therefore we do give unto you or any two of you poises to receive the Acknowledgement which the said Elizabeth and Susanna shall be willing to make before you of the Conveyance aforesaid contained in the said Indenture which is hereto Annexed and we do therefore command you that you do personally go to the said Elizabeth and Susanna and receive their Acknowledgement of the same and examine them privily and apart from the said Josiah and William Bradfhaws their Husbands whether they do the same freely & Voluntarily without their persuasions or in threats whether they be willing that the same shall be recorded in our said County Court of Cumberland and when you have receive their Acknowledgement and examined as afore said that you distinctly & openly certify us thereof in our said Court under your seals sending then there the said Indenture and this Writ

Bedford County to wit

                                      Persuant to the within Com we have this day examined Susannah the Wife of William Bradshaw and Elizabeth the Wife of Josiah Bradshaw who did freely & Voluntarily Acknowledge the Indenture hereto annexed & they both declare that they do the same without the persuasions or threats of their said Husbands & that they are Willing the deed hereto Annexed Should be recorded in the County Court of Cumberland Certified under our hands & seals this 9th day of April 1774
