| Comment: People have different ideas about angels. I think of them as 'beings of light', not human in any way. Sumpter: You are right, of course with your perceptions of angels and earth angels as 'beings of light', with a different, yet still loving, interest in the world. They are, if you like, a different species in their own right. They would be more immediately available to human perception if it were not for the insistence on regarding humans as the top of the evolutionary ladder, a concept which, as you know, is wrong anyway. I do not have much contact with angelic beings myself although there is considerable contact between others who are here in the non-physical worlds, and these angelic beings. Q: Do you have a guardian angel in the life between lives? Sumpter: No, between lives you do not have a guardian angel, they are specifically concerned with our orientation in physical life and when we die their duties are over and they will become attached to a soon-to-be-born child, if they do not choose instead to pursue other interests. Although they are not human in any way, there is still a great variety among them with characteristics that change and develop and yet mark them out as individuals. Those qualities that are most like human qualities are obviously the easiest ones for humans to pick up, some of their other qualities, when they are apprehended, are felt to be very strange indeed. The interest of the entire so-called angelic kingdom in this world is one of caretakers. They add to the spiritual weight of beneficial influences that make good events easier and bad events harder to manifest. The influence of each person's guardian angel (or in some cases, angels) is so constant from birth to death, that it is completely taken for granted at the soul levels, where it is always recognised, as breathing air is taken for granted, for example. Few people believe in guardian angels in your time, so it is harder for them to help and guide, as it would be for example, for an invisible and voiceless mother to guide her children. The recognition, then, of your guardian angel, and communication with them will always bring you many benefits. Q: Why do guardian angels love their human beings? Sumpter: The angelic beings have a great and overwhelming love that is not specific, nor directed in any way at all - when they are free of all physical manifestations, that is. They exist free of all manifestations in a loving state, that is the first thing. Now, love in that state is pure and holy, as it is understood, but it has nowhere to go. Angelic beings appear in all manifested realities to provide a source of pure and holy love that cannot be distorted or stopped in any way. As each one discovers, and attaches itself, to an individual, whether that be a tree, or a person, or a being in other realities of which you have no knowledge, it takes upon itself, if you like, a set of rules for the appearance and use of its love in that situation. It is as if, for example, a gardener puts on specific clothes, and picks up specific tools in order to become a gardener. Then the angel's love becomes directed, focused and attached. The love you feel from your guardian angel is directed and focused to you, is specific for you, is attached to you. Q: Is there a possibility of keeping in touch with a guardian angel after death when the human being deeply loves their guardian angel during their lifetime? Sumpter: There have not been many recorded cases of this kind of instance, such continued contact is not usually of interest to either the human or the angel involved. It requires the development of consciousness in a new direction which few have taken. So there is not much of a pathway. However, all developments are held, in potential, in the One Mind, and therefore, if it is most seriously and enthusiastically desired, such a pathway can in fact be opened up, even where there is none. Q: What were guardian angels before they were guardian angels? Sumpter: Simply put, they were never something else, but have existed timelessly from what you would call the very beginning, in a state as pure as they are today. There were multimillions of these beings created out of the desire of the One Mind, at the time when the One Mind was looking for ways to manifest its multiplicity of thoughts into some kind of creation. The first individualised consciousnesses that arose out of Its desire, then became those beings which, in your world, appear as the angels. They are fresh from that moment, and help to connect each manifested reality to that moment in a way that keeps each reality fresh itself, even while it changes and evolves in its own direction. In other words, one of their abilities is to connect each reality with that original fresh moment of desire and inspiration which made all realities possible, no matter how involved and complex the realities become, so that the realities remain fresh and new and strongly energised with each passing moment, and do not spin off into any kind of oblivion, even though they evolve, because the timelessness of these angelic beings keeps each reality connected with timelessness. |
