| SUMPTER ON OVERSOULS AND COUNTERPARTS |

| The current theories about the nature of the soul make it out to be much less than the wonderful and complex creation that it really is. While this is helpful for a simple and straightforward course of action, eventually more of the souls' true nature needs to be understood in order for further spiritual development to take place. What is an oversoul? And what is a counterpart? An oversoul is the great and grand and glorious being that looked down upon this world, recognised its potential and longed to have earth experiences. It then sent many waves of its consciousness to merge with flesh and experience life upon this planet. Each consciousness wave, then, is a soul, and a part of the oversoul, and upon emerging into flesh each soul becomes a living person. You are such a part of your oversoul. These waves of consciousness, these souls, become people living in different times and places. There is almost always more than one soul from each oversoul alive in the flesh at the same time. And these are called counterparts. In other words, you are a part of your oversoul, you are your oversoul being you, and there are other people alive in the world right now who are from the same oversoul, and these are your counterparts. You may meet them, if they live nearby. You may like them or dislike them. They may be young or old, of the same gender or the other gender, or may belong to other races, but they are from the same oversoul, cut from the same cloth; they draw on the same energies, and have the same bank of characteristics to choose from as you do. They are You, the greater you, in another body, and yet they are uniquely themselves. Some of this knowledge has come down through the ages in the ideas about soulmates, but there is a flaw in that theory. There are not two lost halves of a soul needing each other to be complete, instead there are several or many complete souls alive in the world at the same time who all call the same oversoul their own. To look at it another way, an oversoul could say, "I am Abdul, and Maia, and Elizabeth, and Rua," and so on, and if two of these people met, the oversoul would experience 'meeting itself'. You are not alone, then, or lonely in the world, for there are others of "you" walking the same earth at the same time. The oversoul of course, is aware of all the experiences of all its personalities and therefore the knowledge, experiences and lessons learned by any one are instantly available to help any of the others. Each soul is not limited in its experience to one earth life but travels through a series of lives, and this is where reincarnation fits in. Since basically all time is simultaneous, it it truer to say that each soul also makes the choice to have multiple earth experiences "at the same time" and these appear as different lives in different times and places, and these personalities will not only share the recognisable vibrations of the same oversoul, but will also have their own vibrational signature which distinguishes that soul alone. There are other varieties of experience possible also, but these descriptions still hold. Because of the nature of an earthsoul's perception, it experiences simultaneous time in bits, as a series of minutes, which gives it the feeling of passing through time, and therefore also passing from one life to another one, but this is a "working illusion" accepted for the beneficial lessons it teaches, and actually all its lives are happening at the same time, and its birth in the life it seems to be living at the moment, and its death in this life, are happening simultaneously with its present experience, even though they are not perceived. This is further complicated , of course, by the existence of probabilities, so it would in fact be truer to say all its births and all its deaths belonging to this lifetime are happening at the same time as its present experience, which seems to exclude them. Of what practical benefit is it to know about your oversoul and your counterparts? The main benefit is that you have been taught for far too long in your society that you are just one little person in a big world. Knowing that there are other people in the world that belong to your oversoul makes the world a friendlier place, a stranger may turn out to be not just a friend, but another you. And instead of having to learn everything about living in this time by yourself, you have the support of all the knowledge gained by all of your counterparts. What are oversouls like? I have already described them as beings who became aware of this world, and longed for experience in it, and told you how they can simultaneously keep track of the experiences of a multitude of personalities, the many living people they create with their energies, but they also have a sense of identity of their own, just as you have a body composed of many cells and organs, and yet experience a sense of self that is itself apart from, and yet supported by the identity of the cells. |
