Reviews For Dec. 15- Dec. 21
The next update for the critique page will be Wednesday, January 6. Please make writing reviews a weekly activity. An honest review from someone the author does not know is the best way to help any writer to improve.
CRITIQUE OF THE WEEK
I liked the pure honesty of Ken Bushnell's review below. I could tell he really enjoyed the story and that is what reading and reviewing is all about. Every writer needs this type of review to keep him/her going.

Where's The Beef By Sharon Maier
Maier What a wonderful insight into the mind of an adolescent girl and her
relationship with her brothers. Not only that, I think it was a fun trip
back to a time on the farm. I’m not an editor or anything, but it seemed
to me this was a well written piece in that everything was thoroughly
thought out and balanced. Everything fit together so well.

I think this poem, is a wonderful piece of art. It is so hard to find poetry that is this good and so fresh, I hope to see more by this artist soon. I will have to come back often.

The Coming Collision by Stu Engle
Stu, this is very deep and dark, but very well said. However, I would like to believe that there is more we can do but just close our eyes.

The Owl and the mouse and the big apple tree By Jack Mann
I've been a fan of these 'Owl and Mouse' poems/stories. They've got a good beat, a lesson to be learn and well written. This one reminds me of one of Aesop's Fables, but rhymes.

The Coming Collision by Stu Engle
Very well thought out Stu. Really makes you think! However, I don't agree with the conclusion you have reached. God is still in control and will handle the out come no matter what we do or think. Some how, we have got the idea that we are in control and the things we do matter, but in the big picture, we don't amount to much. Most of the things we fear are generated by the minds of men to proliferate hidden agendas. Ozone depletion, over population and global warming are just a few. You couldn't deplete the ozone if you tried. Lighting strikes the earth every 3 seconds and produces enormous amounts of ozone. All the people in the world could be put in the state of Texas and they wouldn't be as crowded as New York City. As for global warming, that is going to happen every ten thousand years no matter what you do. That is the cause of the ice age. How many times has that happened in the last billion years? Our biggest problem is that we are!
gaining knowledge faster than it can be assimilated and we don't know what to do with it. Fear of the unknown is the biggest fear of all! Keep the faith, everything is going to be alright. The very fact that your story motivated me to write this means it is good.

Maybe By Megan Estey
I just kept going with this poem wondering how it was going to end and then I got to the end and felt sad. A powerful message is stated there at the end.

"The Wait, The Impatience, The Excuse"
By Jessica Sayer
I liked the story but I was a little confused- yet maybe that was what the poet intended since she seems confused by her mother's no show
