THE SPCM VIGIL HOUSE

MEETING & DINNER WITH SPC SISTERS ON FIRST DAY OF REUNION
A meeting was held at the J Building Auditorium of the World Bank with Sr. Mary Magdalen Torres, SPC Phil. Provincial Superior; Sr. Eva Fidela Maamo, President of the Foundation for Our Lady of Peace Mission, Inc.; and Sr. Zeta Rivero, Cebu Perpetual Help Hospital Administrator. They were visiting the US 6 Sept to 3 Oct, to solicit help 1.. to set up an out-patient clinic with councelling center in Baguio City, 2. to establish a pastoral center in Quezon City for sexually abused children and women and 3. to build a new Vigil House for the old SPC sisters. This affair was coordinated and arranged by Sol Balda Ilagan and the WB/IMF Filipino Associa-tion, and in tandem with the rest of the Paulinian family.
Our classmates who attended the meeting, unanimously opted to support the project to build a new Vigil House. Voted to head this undertaking were: Pres.-Sol Balda Ilagan, VP-Nina Galang Reynoso, Sec-Susan de Jesus Ongoco and Treas-Delia Hernandez Alladin.

22 November - Sisters' first day in DC. Dinner hosted by Sol Balda Ilagan. Nina Galang Reynoso, Sr. Mary George Cueto, Marica Andres, Lena Bernabe Caparas, Sr. Nieves Cueto and Sol.

Sunday, November 24 - Morning Mass, then tour of Washington with Lito and Sol Ilagan
Monday - Wednesday, November 25-27 - Preparation for the incorporation papers of the Foundation
Tour of Emmittsburg, Elizabeth Seaton,Maryland, Shrine of the Immac. Conception, et. al. by Mercy Sebastian (Officemate and close friend of Sol), Thursday, November 28 - Thanksgiving Day with the Ilagan Family.
Fiday-Monday, November 29-December 2 - Depart for New York via Greyhound (brought to the Union bus station by Sol), and fetched at Penn Station by Tess Domingo Ng HS65. Will be staying in Phil Pastoral Center c/o Rev. Erno Diaz while in NY.
Sr. NIeves' nephew, Eugene Palma, Sr. will be bringing them out.
Saturday, November 30 -
11AM Joy San Juan/Paula Madamba HS80 will fetch them for the Interbatch Reunion at Chona Dizon-Freedman's Home in New Jersey.
Sunday, December 1 - Mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral, then a NYC Tour c/o Mitzi Hccson HS75.
Monday, December 2 - Afternoon Broadway show c/o Miss Julie Rombawa
Interbatch dinner at Dr. Emelita Cator Cruz'es house in Staten Island. (Coordinators Drs. Emelita Castor Cruz and Leilani Besa Loria and Tess Domingo Ng).
Tuesday December 3 - leave NYC for WDC. To be fetched by Sol at Silver Spring Greyhound Station.
Tueday-Thursday, December 3-5 - more work on the Foundation papers.
Friday, December 6 - 10:35AM-Leave WDC for LA (via Chicago). 2.52PM-Arrive LA and fetched and billeted by Yoly Cruz Eisenstein.
Satuarday, December 7 - Interbatch lunch hosted by Yoly Cruz Eisenstein in Long Beach, CA and catered by Irene Dumaual Alzate's Handaan Resto.
Sunday, December 8 - 6AM-transported to airport by Yoly for 8:45AM flight AA1920 to SF. 10:09-Arrive SF and fetched and billeted by Ms. Elli Waid (friend of the sisters.
2PM - SFBay area interbatch reunion at Michelle Cendana-Bond's residence.
Wednesday, December 10 - Return to WDC via 7:27AM flight AA0038. 5:29PM Arrive WDC and fectched and billeted by Sol until their departure for Manila. Lunch with Lily Gamboa O'Boyle who came in from NY to be with them. . Dinner with Delia Hernandez (and Fred) Alladin and Araceli Geralde Carrigan at Sol's home.

Sr. Nieves tells me that it makes them very happy to see familiar faces and that they are hungry for news about what our lives have become. 			Message from Soledad Balda Ilagan Dear Fellow Paulinians, It's finally confirmed! Sister Nieves and Sister George will be arriving on Friday, November 22, 2002 here in Washington, DC. They will be staying with me Their departure date from Washington to Manila is on Monday, Decemer 16. You can either email me or contact me if you have any questions. Would appreciate dissemminating this information to all Paulinians here in the U.S. For the NY coordinators, please plan a reunion starting Saturday, Nov. 23rd. Please let me know the dates you would like to have a reunion with them. It would be good if this could be agreed upon amongst the coordinators and let me know please as soon as plans are firmed up as they would like to know how their itinerary looks like. For the West Coast (California) coordinators, I am looking at early December For their visit there. We will have to book them a flight to and from Washington DC This will be after the Thanksgiving week. As such, let me know soonest when You plan for the Sisters to arrive California so that we can avail of early reservations. Let's all pray for their safe travel. Many thanks to you all for your help in making the visit of our Paulinian Sisters a memorable one. Let us all show that the Paulinian spirit is in each of us is as strong as ever. 	A Letter from Sol Balda-Ilagan HS '65 December 17, 2002 Dear Fellow Paulinians, What can I say?? The reception for our dear Sisters was overwhelming. They must really have had a great time as they just kept talking about how you all were sooo kind and hospitable (not to mention most generous). I'm glad and happy to report to you that the turnout from all your efforts amounted to a little over $X,XXX.XX. Wow!! And to think that the preparations were done all in a short time. My hats off to you all. At umpisa lang yan no? Sr. Mary George and Sr. Nieves truly were so pleased with all of us. They promised to reward us with prayers for our families and our personal intentions. They also would like us to let them know whenever we come and visit Manila so they can show us around SPC, particularly the Vigil House. Today, they are going back to Manila. They say that this trip was indeed a memorable one for them. They may have been cold due to the weather but you all supplied the warmth they needed most through your kindness, concern and generosity. Lito and I will be leaving for Manila early tomorrow. We'll be meeting with Sr. Magdalen Torres on December 27. I will give you a fuller report upon my return in mid-January. I just would like to send this out to let you all know how happy I am about the results of the visit of our dear Sisters. May you all have a blessed Christmas and a prosperous 2003. December 25, 2002 Dear Paulinians in the U.S. � Happy HOLIDAYS to you all and may every day of the coming New Year be an EPIPHANY of God�s LOVE for you and your loved ones! We are back and had given a feedback to Sister Magdalen about �Mission America�. Thank you very much, dear Paulinians, for the wonderful time we had with you. By all standards, the Mission was a SUCCESS because of you. It is truly heart-warming to know and experience how the Paulinian spirit is very much alive in all of you despite the years away from St. Paul and in spite of the successes you have achieved. We were truly blest! We are touched and very impressed at the care and concern you have shown, not only to us but, more importantly, of one another.
