Jordan Knight was born on May 17, 1970
in Worcester, Massachusetts. He's the youngest in his family of six children:
Allison, Sharon, Christopher, David, and Jonathan. He currently resides in
a lovely home in Milton, MA.
When Jordan was 14, he happened to get
a call from his pal, Donnie Wahlberg, asking him if he wanted to audition
for a new music group. Jordan brought his brother, Jonathan to the
audition. Donnie eventually talked Danny Wood into auditioning, as well.
Add Joe McIntyre, and the group, New Kids On The Block, was
born.
NKOTB recorded and released their first album
in 1986, but it wasn't until the release of their 1988 album, Hangin'
Tough, that the group achieved the pinnacle of rock 'n roll success.
Hangin' Tough went platinum seven times and helped to propell the
NKOTB to the top of the Forbes' List. NKOTB released six albums before their
breakup. After nearly 10 years, NKOTB decided to go their separate ways in
early 1994.
The breakup of NKOTB left its former members wondering
what the hell to do next. After taking some much needed time off,
Jordan decided to fly solo. He signed a contract with Interscope Records,
though they seemed nonchalent about promoting the former New Kid---at
first.
Jordan went into the studio, taking
SuperProducers, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and Robin Thicke along with him.
The result was Jordan's self-titled, solo debut; which, after several
delays, was finally released on May 25 (in the USA). Since then, Jordan Knight
has gone Gold, and the first single, "Give It To You," went
Platinum.
This fall, Jordan will complete a tour of
Europe then head back to the States to work on his second album; which (Jordan
hopes) will be released in May.
