Ever since Nobody's Angel first got together,
they've found that things have just naturally fallen into place. The Angels
were introduced to the world with their appearance last season on the smash
ABC comedy Boy Meets World and a breakout song on The Parent Trap
soundtrack ("Let's Get Together"). Now, with their self-titled debut album,
Stacey Harper, Sarah Smith, Ali Navarro, and Amy Sue Hardy
are prepared to make an impact on the music scene with their effervescent
harmonies and funky pop sound.
Though the energetic foursome seemed to appear
virtually overnight, the early seeds of their success were planted almost
two years ago. The first pieces of the puzzle to fit were Stacey and Sarah,
who were both scholarship students at Los Angeles's esteemed dance school,
The Edge. The two were natural-born dancers with a passion for singing. Ali,
an experienced vocalist and actress, met Sarah at various auditions. And
Ali knew Amy Sue, a multi-talented performer, from doing musical theater
together. Soon a four-way friendship was born. Marathon hang-out sessions
turned to serious discussions about forming a group. Not content to sit around
and wait to be discovered, the girls took matters into their own hands,
vocalizing constantly and even making up their own dance routines.
The album's high-energy groove is complemented
by stellar tracks like the acoustic ballad "Keep Me Away," which is Sarah's
personal favorite. "The orchestra in the background is beautiful," she says.
"I used to play the cello and the viola so I love strings. I love that song
-- it's very emotional and it keeps building."
Though Nobody's Angel's hypnotizing harmonies
drive the album's 13 tracks, each member's individual talent shines through.
Sarah takes the lead on "I Can't Help Myself," the tender song NA performed
on Boy Meets World, and Stacey takes over on "We Are Family."
Amy Sue shines on "Sugar Daddy," while Ali sings
her heart out on the wistful ballad "Wishing on You."
