Orange County funk-rockers Sugar Ray debuted in 1995 with the tepid Lemonade and Brownies. Two years later, they hit modern rock paydirt with the dancehall reggae hit, "Fly," off their sophomore effort, Floored.

These SoCal pretty boys (frontman Mark McGrath, guitarist Rodney Sheppard, bassist Murphy Karges, DJ Craig Bullock and drummer Stan Frazier) spent most of 1997 on a massive world tour before settling down to record their third album for Lava/Atlantic.

The hip-hop infused 14:59 hit the shelves in January 1999.
