1) The room was crowded, but all agreed it was warm and pleasant.
2) Sierra Leone. The meeting approved the Treasurer's decision to use the occasion of a member's visit to Sierra Leone and send UKP100 to FoESL. We should ask FoESL for an account of how they spend it.
3) Chrys reported on and there was discussion of
a) replacing the FoE shredder mobile and transferring the number;
b) Milk Float/Shredder input and output: 50 bags since January, totals down;
c) Hull DOC's promised donation had not arrived: Chrys to write to Paul Spooner;
d) prices for shredding. What are the schemes objectives? Decided minimum UKP15 for a full load bagged, UKP20 if not bagged or bundled;
e) leafleting: decided to leaflet Newland Park, put leaflets with newt issue of Avenues newsletter: order 1500 A5 from Centre 88;
f) Arthur reported sale of mulch to Foundation for Work for UKP2 donation; discussion of what to charge: UKP2 for big bag.
4) Way to Go Campaign. Stall at Ferriby fair with leaflets: Hilary will if someone else helps too.
5) Spring Green Fair: poster looked at, discussion of what to sell on FoE stall.
6) WRG's application for MRF at North Ferriby. The plan had some merits, recycling facilities were needed, though should be only for residuals after kerbside collection, Humberfield site not unsuitable; incinerator and WDF should be ruled out. Qualified support: Alan T to write to this effect.
7) Wind farm near Elsham. Group supported wind power in principle, Louise would be going to look at the exhibition, possible comment on details.
8) Fluoridation of water supplies. Haris reported letter from YW that there would be consultation first. Decided that national FoE should take on the issue of mass fluoridation.
9) GM foods. Given the free school meals campaign, Carole to write to Cllr Hale again, stressing Hull GM-free zone, asking for commitment to non-GM school canteens.
