1) Matters arising: feedback on who did what or not.
2) Fundraiser: 22 January 2005, Marist Hall. Simon & Garfunkel tribute duo, poetry, and a
pianist. Being organised with help. Bar provided by Marist.
3) Discussion of waste consultations and campaigning.
4) Money matters.
5) Newsletter deadline: items as soon as possible, as it needs to be out early to publicise
the Green Fair. Items on barbecue, fundraiser, Green Fair
6) Green Fair: update on bookings.
7) Green Fair: kitchen helpers (John Walford, Debbie, Arthur, Sam?). Set up
(Carole, Stephen, David). Door (David). Stall (Mark). Musicians (Ian organising).
Need cakes for kitchen, plants to sell, books.
8) Suggest in Hull Eco that members could prepare plants, make bird boxes, in advance
throughout the year to sell at future Green Fairs. Stephen

12) Sidmouth School are interesting in taking an allotment. Group should hang onto cash for
contingencies. No donation at this time.

14) How to move the Council to collecting green waste. We need to move to community composting, to demonstrate that it works

16) Report on Local Groups Conference, Leicester 10-12 September 2004,
submitted in advance by Chrys. Presentations on main FoE campaigns: Sustainable economics
(down with WTO), Environmental justice (empower local communities against pollution),
Environmental limits (challenge transport growth), Grassroots campaigning
(access to information: see web site http://community.foe.co.uk/ for resources and strategic plan).
Workshops: Chrys attended fundraising, taking photos, new waste technologies
(briefing document available), getting the public on our side. Local groups' motions were
all carried (but call for anti-fluoridation campaign only just).
17) Monthly report on CARGO project, submitted in advance by Chrys. Another record month.
As much as possible composted. Four big bins settling, ready for covering with topsoil
in months. Vandalism still a problem: compost bins dismantled for kids' den and contents
scattered. Fencing does not keep undesirables out.
18) Agreed that David will be borrowing milk float for moving trees
