Skulking Loafers vs Emsworth
The visit from Hampshire of Emsworth is one of the tougher fixtures we have with the matches being very competitive,in a most sporting way.The pitch at New Park Road was deemed unplayable due to no preparation at all,so the match was moved into Priory Park. The setting in the Park was of benefit to the Loafers batting with the predictable wicket they amassed a total of 130 off 18 overs, which was the highest that they were to acheive all season, why do we not play more often here? one might say, because the home of the Loafers is "New Park Road" with all its vagaries and quirks it feels like home and long may we stay.In reply Emsworth did not get off to a good start with the opening bowling attack of the Loafers N.Holmes and M.Dunn taking two wickets apiece, and despite a rally in mid innings by S.Woods and S.Moret Emsworth were never up with the scoring rate. Again the Loafers showed some good alround skills in the field and with tight bowling never lost control of the match, and in the end ran out easy winners. All retired to The Coach and Horse for beer and grub another good result for the Loafers.
