Skulking Loafers vs Harlequins
The Loafers roll on to the next match and this is the third match in seven days will they have the stamina to withstand the Harlequins. The season so far has two games and two wins .The New Park Road pitch was up to it`s usual standard and the batting strip was hard to notice from the outfield, warnings again were issued about not straying to far from the bat especially to the shorter members of the teams. The Loafers batted first and although no one was ever going to be comfortable on a wicket that did not even know what it was going to do itself, steady runs were accumulated. The final total was felt by all to be respectful for the occasion. The Harlequins never got the lie of the land with the wicket and lost batsmen at regular intervals until there was no one left and the score was only 70.The Loafers again played well as a team and can count on their local knowledge which so much bemuses the opposition. All retired to The Coach and Horses where the team bought a jug of ale for all on the strength of their three match winning streak. Let`s encourage this idea but we have to keep on winning.
