The day started a bit rough as again we had no hot water. Hmmm what caused it this time? We had yet another water tank CW failed to explain how to use. Laura took a cold shower while Rick again went dirty. He has yet to shave and has quite a full beard going on.

The Painted Desert was the highlight of the day visually. The photos didn't even come close to showing the deep reds mixed with light reds. The Petrified Forest lacked a little. I (Rick) was expecting trees still standing like, well you know, a forest. Instead there were trees knocked down 200 million years ago that had been turned to stone as a result of sitting in silt swamps. Fun.

We camped for the night on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. We grilled hamburgers, had a few Margaritas and relaxed. Until uptight ivy league tenter guy decided to tell us at 9:00 that it was too late to have our generator running. It was about 40 degrees on the top of the Canyon and the campground didn't have any hookups.

Phrase of the day: "Hey look, more wood."
