Halfway through with the trip!
We woke up and got on a ferry from Sausalito to San Francisco. We were going straight to Alcatraz, to visit of course. We departed the ferry at Pier 1, took a trolley to Pier 41, the Fisherman's Warf. Alcatraz tours were sold out. We cried. We consoled ourselves with seafood.
Next came shopping. Pier 39 was our destination without much money to spend. We got to see the sea lions and all the foreigners.
Rick remembered some fantastic views from the Marin Headlands the last time he was out here and wanted to see them again. So we followed the map but never found what he wanted to see. He concluded he must have dreamt it. So we drove around Muir Woods (not an easy task in an RV) and on the Pacific Coast Highway.
Night set in and we made a camp fire and cooked weiners over an open flame. We wanted Smores.
Phrase of the Day: Who do I have to KILL to get to Alcatraz.
Starting off the day... San Quentin.
Ha ha, we get to go shopping.
One end of the Golden Gate Bridge.
The Golden Gate Bridge.
London Bridge.
The City by the Bay.
The pebble, I mean rock, Alcatraz.
The Famous Fisherman's Wharf.
Us in Canada.
Our new pet, the RV was getting too empty.
He brought his friends.
We didn't like Bubba, he barked a lot and his breath smelled like tuna fish.
But we got along great with Sam, Sally, John, Jake, Mark, Mark Jr., Jerry...
We could have escaped from here.
The flag says it all.
Yahoo, lots and lots of people in a tiny place and none of them spoke English.
Driving to the Marin Headlands.
Oops, took a wrong turn, oh look honey, the Golden Gate Bridge.
Oooh look honey, the Golden Gate Bridge going the other way.
A city shot.
Yes kitty, we're going over the bridge again.
Finally, our destination, well sort of.
A tunnel.
The tunnel again. We got lost here too. NO, not IN the tunnel.
The Pacific Ocean.
The Marin Headlands.
A Tree. It's not a redwood.
The Pacific Ocean as seen from Pacific Coast Highway.
More photos from the Pacific Coast Highway.
We can't help it, every veiw looks like this.
Laura takes time to smell the roses and take a picture.
Entering Muir Woods.
Someone gets a lot of mail.
Finally in the great state of Kansas.
Now Nebraska.
Now Oklahoma.
Arkansas is pretty.
The sun sets on the West Coast.
Ya think this RV can drive on water?
I quit, no more driving.
Stinson Beach.
