Today was another drive day. We were leaving our new favorite place, Death Valley (The Desert! Yah, but it's Death Valley) and headed for San Francisco.
On the way... Scotty's Castle, Furnace Creek, Stovepipe Wells, Devil's Cornfield, Racetrack Rocks, Ghost Towns, Harmony Borox Mines, Ubehebe Crater and of course the Badwater Basin.
Death Valley has lots and lots to see, but you have to be willing to leave the air conditioned car for that. We'll just hope photos fade into memories so we think we saw it all.
The drive through the heart of California was long. Lots of farms for all kinds of fruit and trees and even livestock. We passed a few 'cow farms' that just made you cringe. So many cows, so many steaks. Did I say that?
We finally arrived in San Fran around dusk so we got to see the sun descend upon the Pacific Ocean (well some inland body of water anyway).

A prospector, Scotty, took this midwesterner for big bucks. Build a castle in the desert he said.
Racetrack Playa of Death Valley (Racetrack Rocks).
These rocks have been racing for hundreds of years, i wonder if any of them ever win. And what would they win? A trip somewhere like Hawaii?
